Sweet music or sour notes?

Rick Miller is the disillusioned lead singer of a rock band on the cusp of international fame. But the closer he gets to the big time, the more he longs to follow his true passion, writing country music songs. This doesn’t sit well with his manager or bandmates, so he’s got a decision to make, and fast.

Macy Cooper, a high school chorus teacher, stayed in her small town to help her mother raise her younger siblings after her father left the family to pursue fame as a classical violinist. Now she doesn’t trust artists of any stripe, especially rich and famous ones.

When Rick retreats to Magnolia Grove to sort out his future, fate brings him in contact with the talented and energetic Macy. Will their match be a duet made in heaven, or a song better left unsung?

Love Comes for the Rock Star is a sweet romance and is the third book in the small-town series, Love Stories from Magnolia Grove. Each book in the series is a complete story with overlapping characters and can be read in any order. A swoon-worthy ending guaranteed!

Love Comes for the Rock Star is another fabulous addition to the Magnolia Grove romance series by Savannah Adams!

This series is absolutely my guilty pleasure series. I sink into these books and am whisked away into a beautiful, romantic world. I couldn't put the book down and totally binged the whole thing, all the while making notes of the cutesy things that happened along the way!

This time around we have Rick Miller, rock star extraordinaire who just wants some time away from the spotlight, and Macy Cooper, a music teacher and conductor who just wants her students to succeed. These guys met back in vacation bible school when Rick pulled the cute little Macy's hair and ran away - over and over and over. Flash forward twenty years, and these two soulmates bump into each other... and as it is said, the rest is history.

There are so many amazing things about this book, but let's just settle on a few of my personal faves:

1. Star Wars themes for ringtones? YES PLEASE! My inner nerd got so thrilled! The Imperial March from Empire Strikes Back and The Darth Vader theme? Heck yes!

2. I thoroughly enjoyed thinking that Rick was strutting around like Mick Jagger on stage. That had me giggling.

3. "Smart aleckey" - I thought I was the only one to use this kind of lingo? Apparently I am not!

4. Music teacher + Rock Star = Love? It's just too darn adorable.

5. The connections to the other stories was super sweet. Thankfully, these books can be read as a standalone. It's more of an easter egg than a necessary evil to read the other books. You can understand these easily without any prior information.

Overall, this book was just amazing! I'm so glad I picked up another book in this series. I hope it continues so I can binge more, and I hope that many other readers come to read and love this series just as much as I do!

Five out of five stars!

Thank you to Savannah Adams for providing me a free copy of this book in exchange of an honest review.

Rick is the frontman for the rock band Rick Miller and the Galaxy Band and he’s tired and at 30 years old he feels burned out so he went to his late grandmother’s home he hasn’t been there in 10 years everything is the same accept for his grandmother who passed away. There’s no food in the house so he puts on his disguise and heads out to the Piggly Wiggly he just hopes that no one will recognise him. Macy is a high school music teacher they have a singing exposition in Russia next spring and her solo singers GPA has dropped that’s the thing with her students they have to have decent grades or they can’t go, Macy gets a call from her mother she needs a few things at the store so she heads off to the Piggly Wiggly. Rick was shopping when he slipped and fell into a woman all of her fruit went all over the place she told him to look where he was going, Rick recognised the woman surely she wasn’t the little girl he met a long time ago she must be because he remembers the girl who had such wild hair and so many freckles then he watched her leave. Rick tried to remember her name it starts with a M. M Macy yeah that’s it. When Macy jumped in her car she recognised Rick from the band and from a long time ago at bible school she had a big crush on him but Rick used to run up to Macy and pull her pig tails now he is a rockstar and even more gorgeous. That’s all I’m going to give you guys but this is just the beginning of an amazing story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Rick is a big rock star, but he hasn't been happy lately. He'd rather write country music than perform rock music, so he takes some time off and comes back to his grandmother's home in Magnolia Grove to weigh his options. Macy was the sweet little girl whose pigtails he pulled in vacation bible school so many years ago. She's the high school chorus teacher who loves life in her small town, and values family over everything else. She and Rick run into each other - literally - and eventually find their way into a friendship. When it looks like things might take a more serious turn, Rick's manager shows up to stir the pot, causing friction between Rick and Macy. I loved this story - Rick's time out enabled him to realize that he really does value the same things that Macy does, and headed them toward their happy ending. This has been such an enjoyable series of books - clean stories set in a small town, with characters you can relate to.

I recommend this book!

I’ve been enjoying this series very much. I’ve read other “rock star” romances and I expected to enjoy this one too. And I did but for a different reason. Rick was so not the typical rock star. Not even typical for a sweet romance story. Yes, he was down to earth and humble and vulnerable to the woman he was falling in love with. Rick did not have a conventional upbringing. He was raised by free-spirited parents, traveling around the country, not getting an education. His only stability was his Nana in Magnolia Grove. I think the author did a great job tying his current anxieties and fears back to his childhood experiences and that man came home to the only place he could call home, only to stumble onto Macy. Not sure if I’m explaining my thoughts well, but nevertheless, the different take on Rick the Rockstar made the book special to me. And I don’t want to forget Macy. She is awesome, unique and you will love her too.

When Rick Miller turns his back on a rock star life style, seeking peace, stability and inspiration in Magnolia Grove, he has no idea life is about to change in more ways than he planned.

Macy Cooper and Rick knew each other when they were children attending summer vacation Bible school. When they meet again as adults, Macy falls hard for the man Rick has become, but can he really turn his back on a glittering career for the chorus teacher in small town Magnolia Grove?

Will music be the food of love for Rick and Macy or will bright lights call Rick back to New York? Go on the journey with them and also enjoy the supporting characters we recognise and love from previous stories. This is Savannah Adam's third book in her Magnolia Grove series of sweet romance and has everything the true romantic enjoys.

Sweet, sassy and sexy.

Let's be honest - most of us dreamed of being romanced by a rock star as we were growing up didn't we? That rough and tough sexy exterior that is merely a cover for the sweet and loving man inside. Oh - helllooooo Rick!!!

This sweet romance takes us on that very journey with Rick and Macy as they reunite as adults after those first childhood encounters... when boys and girls simply didn't know how to speak to each other.

Savannah's books are like a big hug. They restore your faith in humanity. I know to cancel any plans for the weekend when Savannah's books are released - as I'd only be itching to come back home and start those pages turning again. Who doesn't love a bit of escapism right? I know I do.

Another stonking great read, Savannah - please do keep 'em coming!

Rick and Macy

Rick was a famous rock star, who was tried of the limelight and just needed a new life. He retreats to Nana's home town, Magnolia Green to live in her home he inherited. Rick had always remembered the cute freckle girl he meet in Vacation Bible school when he visited his Nana one summers. Unfortunately, Rick was too shy to speak to her but would pull her pig tail each day. Rick never forgot those freckle & her hair, so was thrilled he ran into her in the grocery story. He never really had a family home or the love of what a real family had, but something about Macy felt like home and he wanted to pursue it. He wanted to settle down and just write country songs and not sing or perform. Their love story had a few twist and misunderstanding, but it was exciting to see & feel the excitement when Rick finally ended up with a home and women he loved.

This sweet clean romance provides such a breath of fresh air. With rockstar in the title, I expected glitz, glamour, fame & fortune. The author goes way behind the curtain to reveal the man and emotions behind the rockstar.

Will Macy, a small-town chorus teacher, and Rick, a burned-out rocker, be able to overcome all their past personal issues to find happiness once again?

Pick up a copy of this book today to find out how Rick & Macy’s story ends. As a bonus, you get to revisit several Magnolia Grove characters from the first two books in the series.

I highly recommend this stand-alone novel as well as the rest in the series.

Not only did I enjoy the connection between Macy and Rick, but I also loved watching them grow and change over the course of their story. As a lover of all kinds of music, it was fun to read about two main characters who are musicians in their own right. While this book is part of the Magnolia Grove series, you don't need to read the other books to know what's going on, so you can jump into any of the Magnolia Grove books at any time. Another great read from Savannah Adams with fun characters, sweet romance, and a couple of unexpected twists!

A quick enjoyable read.
I felt that the author had the ability to convey some depth to the personalities of the characters bringing a greater sense of reality to her story.
The writing draws you in and keeps you interested until the end.
The chemistry between the H and h is great plus their attitudes and events going on make the story even richer.

Here you have someone with fame & fortune but doesn't want it. Wants a normal life with a girl he knew years ago when he was a little kid. She remembers him & wants to the same thing. Love comes to both when he leaves his rock star life behind him.

Clean with Musical Knowledge too!

Sweet story of Macy the talented, high school chorus teacher who runs into the boy who used to pull her pigtails at VBS. But, wow, he’s all grown up and a rock star!
All the fun of sweet, clean romance with bonuses for music lovers as different genres are tossed about throughout!🥰🎶

Rick is in the rock band. But Jerry and Rick have different ideas about Rick's career. This was my first read from this author and all I can say is: don't judge the book by its cover.

Very sweet and musical

I really enjoyed this book. I love rock star romances. My only complaint is that the conflict and resolution felt a little rushed, but it made it a quick read.

Rick and Macy have a past but can they have a future? The rock star falls for the teacher. Of course their is angst and I wanted to jump in the book and tell Rick to quit acting like a child. Grand gesture and a really sweet ending.

Long lost love

Sometimes in life we chase after big dreams and forget what’s really important. So glad that Rick found out what really inspired him and went after it. Good story and fairly quick to read.

The story of Macy and Rick. It's a standalone, HEA. I recommend this book. It's not your typical rock singer fan love story. Rick has a real background story to him which got me involved in his life. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story and you will too.
