We live in a time of unprecedented change when it comes to women's lives. All around the world, women are demanding the safety, respect, and opportunities they have always deserved but seldom grasped. Have you ever stopped to wonder, "Where do I fit into this story?"
Ronne Rock is a good person to ask. In this stirring book, she takes you on a global adventure to discover your divine design as a woman of influence and impact. Through powerful and personal stories of women in Africa, Asia, the Americas, and the Caribbean, you'll learn what it means to lead in a world where leadership isn't easy, how to serve with grace in cultures that aren't always graceful, and how to embrace your God-given physical, emotional, and spiritual DNA. As you discover the lives of real women who are influencing their communities with grace and gumption--even in countries where oppression weighs most heavily--you'll feel inspired to reclaim your God-designed influence and impact right where you are.
Ronne Rock weaves themes of transformative hope and grace-filled leadership into everything she shares on page and stage. An award-winning marketing and communications executive in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors, she now shares her more than 30 years of expertise in creative leadership with faith-based organizations.
Ronne also travels around the world to gather words and images that inspire others to action with Orphan Outreach, a global nonprofit dedicated to serving the orphaned and vulnerable. She's a writer, blogger, and speaker--sharing battle-tested wisdom about leadership, advocacy marketing, and finding God in the most beautiful and painful of circumstances.
An Oklahoma gal by birth, Ronne now lives in Austin, Texas, with her husband, Brad, and rescue pup, Pearl. Her son and his family live just down the road—which is a delight.
Beautifully written book that will spur your hands to do the very work that stirs your heart. When you finish the last page you will feel you know the real life heroes contained within these stories while simultaneously yearning to meet each and every one.
Such a perfect reminder: right here, right now, our impact is powerful.
Reading "One Woman Can Change the World" felt like breathing fresh air—no checklists or guilt trips, no "shape up" or "get it together" instructions, no preaching or pushing. Instead, it felt like grace, and honesty, and hope, and gentle nudges to respect my own identity, instead of demanding that I perform as someone else, with someone else's purpose.
My favorite thing about this book is that no one in it is "famous." The women whose stories fill the pages are incredible...but only the people around them know it. Their love and courage and steadiness are not highlighted in the headlines. But these women are indeed changing the world, simply by starting in their own corners of it. Their stories are fascinating, and beautiful, and honest, and inspiring.
My second favorite thing about this book is how short and easy-to-read the chapters are. For moms of small kids or busy people who need a quick and accessible read, this is a huge gift.
I felt like a sister was hanging out with me on my couch, cheering me on to RELAX into God's offerings for my life, instead of straining for some crystal-clear, big picture blueprint for the next decade.
These stories reminded me that the smallest work I do is not without meaning, or impact, and they've inspired me to listen to the callings that show up in my everyday. There is wisdom and deep beauty in this book.
Ronne Rock does a wonderful job at capturing the stories of these women in such a way that the reader can feel like they've been sitting with them on the couch this whole time rather than reading about them. As women, there are often struggles with am I not enough or am I too much, and then books, blogs, articles and social media posts are read in hopes of what we can do to "fix" things in our lives. This is not a how-to book, but a book that shows how all humans can be people that change their worlds, to then change the world's of those around them, and prayerfully that in turn will change the world. It's so easy to see how overwhelming it is to want to change something in our lives, but reading about these women in this book was like a balm to my soul to see how they were faithful in small steps in their corner of the world, and those steps of obedience have changed other people's lives. It just takes getting started and asking the Lord for courage as we walk with Him to change the world.
As a writer, Ronne weaves a beautiful story and meets us as women right where we are. She infuses us with hope and encouragement about stepping into the lives God has for us. Ronne doesn't give us a leadership how-to guide, nor does she focus on leadership qualities, but she effortlessly intertwines women's true life stories of how they are creating change all over the world. This book immediately grabbed my attention with the storyline focusing on women in different cultures. These stories are about ordinary women who've faced so many obstacles but have turned their lives into extraordinary roles to help others. I can't recommend this book enough. If you want to be inspired to overcome, to lead, to reach your full potential, these words will fill your spirit!
Often when you read books like these you are left feeling inadequate, pressured to achieve a new level of faithfulness or achievement. However, I found One Woman Can Change The World by Ronne Rock to be the exact opposite. The grace, hope, wisdom, and gentleness in Ronne’s words and thoughts is consistent throughout and left me feeling encouraged and ready for what comes next. As I turned each page I felt at peace while also feeling challenged.
I didn’t want it to end! It felt as though I was sitting in her living room (or kitchen) having a conversation and hearing her tell these incredible stories. She is an amazing storyteller.
Page after page I continued to find a new favorite quote, something that struck me, or a new take on a common truth. Needless to say, my book is filled with notes and underlines. I will only include one quote here because I want you to read this book for yourself.
“Fear loves to write the story lines of our lives. It loves to scribble over our plans, edit our futures, add to our pasts, discredit our present journeys. And fear doesn’t know how to write a good story, because fear can’t spell hope.” – page 54
You need to hear these stories of women who rose up to meet the needs around them even through fear and doubt. You need to be encouraged by Ronne’s powerful words that lead us directly to the Author of it all. Most importantly, you need to be empowered by the promises of God that she references throughout. We were created to do great things and the words within this book will help you pursue what God has given you to do.

The title of Ronne Rock’s book, One Woman Can Change the World, throws down a gauntlet. That’s a pretty high expectation to fill in a little over 200 pages. I identified with the author’s soul-baring and scar-sharing style, as her stories brought me right alongside her efforts to “fix” the world’s aches…armed at first with a backpack full of first world solutions. We read about her making mistakes, but continually growing toward a realization of her God-given design. These stories tell of real women all over the world stepping into callings that seem impossible…unreachable. Their honesty and bravery made me laugh, and brought me to tears. With each set of stories, the author uses her own experience, and words from the Bible, to remind us that we were designed for a purpose. We do have the strength and courage to answer our unique call to change the world. I finished the book determined to look my calling in the eye and not be intimidated!
Wow! This is more than a great read. For me as I read this book, I felt inspired, encouraged and challenged. Each story is so much more than a story. The stories were a peak into the everyday lives of women who are everyday women living for more than themselves. These women are leaders and this book is already influencing the way I lead in work, my family and ministry. The more I read, I found myself wondering a few things... what have I as a woman done to change the world? What have the women in my life done to change the world? And I was encouraged to see that the simple things and big things that we as women do all change the world as a whole because we can change the world for just one person. Ronne Rock did an beautifully amazing job bringing these women to life for me as I read this book. Not only did I feel a connection to the women including Miss Mary, Lilly, Irene and Flo, I felt like there are so many women that will be able to learn from their stories and be Change Makers too! Not just change for the sake of change, but Change for Jesus through the grace and strength of Jesus. These are women of great faith, courage, commitment and most of all LOVE! This book evoked all of my emotions including Joy, Excitement, Heartbreak, Frustration, and Hope. One of my favorite quotes from this book is “No one can disqualify you from your purpose. You don’t have to have all the pieces in place to lead and serve well. Your purpose will continue to unfold throughout your leadership journey. Don’t be afraid. You are never not worthy enough to begin.” It reminds me that my worth and ability is not in what others say or even what I say, and I don’t have to wait until things are ‘perfect’ before I set out to accomplish big things. Thank you Ronne Rock for sharing these stories and thank you to each woman who has changed the world for allowing your story to change my world! I know each reader will be encouraged after you read this book!
Before reading this book, I considered myself a woman that was bitter about society and truly felt my life was relatively purposeless. This book is completely changing and reshaping my view of myself and my view of woman and the power and purpose we possess. Rock weaves stories of her own triumph, failure, disappointment, and encouragement as well as many other incredible women beautifully. This book is not only changing me, but this book is changing my entire view of women. We all need this kind of encouragement and support in our lives!
I am getting a sneak peek at Ronne Rock's #OneWomanCanChangetheWorld and am loving it because it provides a view of how one woman has approached improving the world around her...and then some. Quoting from the book, I want to share a few things that take you deep into your core and if you are like me, pushes me to action. Leche, no tiene leche. Ronnie and a team were there to provide structure and learning and love and friendship. Huge plans had been made but when they arrived, they found the children they had planned such glorious things to do had no milk. They pooled what they had and went to the market and provided the basic physical needs and once that had happened, they could then move on to vastly altered plans. All changed by that simple sentence, Leche, no tiene leche. Once past the personal planning that had gone on and had moved on to serving the needs of the kids, it was glorious. In another spot, a woman exclaims, "This place-the name of this place is my favorite because it is true. Here I have hope. And here I have a future." Don't we all want that? Don't we want to have hope? Don't we all want a future? The last quote of the book I want to bring your attention to brings tears to my eyes. "You never see the hands of God, you just move to them." When serving others, you do not always know what the right thing to do is but once the plan is aligned to His plan, you can move to that gentle urging that comes from the one you serve. Pick this book up, it will bend your heart. It may even mend your heart. If you order a copy before June 16th, you can also claim some exclusive gifts! Ronne does a beautiful job of sharing stories of women serving around the world. The inclusion of seeing how women around the world have the same insecurities and doubts moving forward in their trust in God was freeing. What I love most about these women, and Ronne’s own story, is that they are not doing BIG things. They are being constant and showing up in the places that God has put them in each day. Ronne’s words help us move from thinking of someone changing the world only in big ways to shift to thinking maybe the small things we do daily to love on those around us are a better way to change the world. I wholeheartedly recommend this book!
What to say about this book? Ronne Rock's words hit the heart like an arrow. And then they pull along the bottom of your heart, exposing a holy and valuable part of yourself you were unaware was even there. It is as if, when reading this book, a mirror is being held up before you, but not to expose flaws or insecurities or transgressions; instead her words draw out dignity, value, and right-sized talents. In a world where we often carry blame for someone else's actions and subsequent silence, where we dream of just one good scream from the rooftops for the most basest of dignities, Ronne reminds the reader (you, dear one), that you are who God says you are. NOTHING LESS. Not what man has deemed you. But what you really are.
"God's purpose in us is real and true even when our worth is questioned." "...all gifts shine when seen through the prism of love..."
There are more amazing words where these came from. Read it; you'll love it. I promise. (I don't want it to end).
Such an incredible book, everyone should read it. This book is written in a beautiful way that will capture the hearts of anyone who opens it. Reading the stories, I realized I need to see life and love from different perspectives. I realized I was missing out on so much only looking at things from my tiny worldview. This book challenged me to look deeper into the world and ask myself “how can I change the world?” We all have the power inside us to change the world, and it’s important to share it with others.
Wow! What an inspirational read! This book is a beautiful reminder that my impact on this world doesn’t come from a perfect, instagram-able life. My impact comes from living my life to the full. My life may look sad to some but could have a life changing effect to myself and those around me.
I’m having my 3 teenagers are read this book now as well. In a world that has been flipped upside down, now more than ever they need to see that when we live a life outside of ourselves, we are filled with joy and purpose. This book is so powerful, inspirational and a compilation of many different lives living in many different cultures fulfilling very different purposes but ALL are beautifully and powerfully changing this world. This book empowers its readers to go out and change the world by being just who we are created to be! This is a must read!
This book is not just a collection of stories about women bound together under a unifying title. This is a beautiful tapestry of courage, perseverance, compassion, leadership, and love, woven together with the strongest of threads: God's purpose for all of us, and his promise that he will see us through it. If you're reading reviews to decide if this book for you, this book IS for you. You will be inspired, challenged, moved, and changed. Get a copy for yourself. Then get a copy for the woman you know can't or won't get one for herself. Happy reading!
“There are days when all goes well and days when our knees are bloodied from stumbling. And yet they still believe they are designed by God to make an impact and influence the world.” All around the world, women are demanding the safety, respect and opportunities they have always deserved but seldom grasped. In “One Woman Can Change The World,” Ronne shatters lies that we tell ourselves, that we are inadequate, that we don’t have value or worth anything through scripture, that yes we do have value through God’s eyes, that He treasures us as his precious daughter.
Ronne shares personal stories of women in the Caribbean, Africa, Asia and America and what it means to lead in a world where leading others is not easy, she show us how to serve with grace in cultures that do not allow women to lead, where oppression weighs most heavily. Each woman shares their struggles, doubts, and fears and that yes, their decisions were huge steps of faith. That we need to listen to God. Courage taken is courage given.
The book left an impacting change on my life, to lead with faith and trust in God each day. To go on mission by listening and following God’s plan for my life. “One Woman Can Change The World” reminded me of the very purpose of God. That yes, I can change the world!
“One Woman Can Change The World” will leave you motivated for change and empowered that yes we are ready to take on the world. The book deserves 10 plus stars.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy of the book from the publisher.
Through her personal tales from both far and near, Ronnie Rock introduces us to women who have defied the odds by embracing their God-given gifts to change the world. These incredibly heart wrenching and heartwarming stories paint a vivid picture that shows us how, regardless of our circumstances, we have the power to do the same. Want to know how? First you must embrace your own story by reclaiming your design, your purpose, your shape, your strength, your worth, your voice, your courage, and your identity. And the author shows you how to do just that through the stories of the women she’s met around the world as well as several from the Bible. “One woman can change the world, and God says, ‘That woman is you’.”
Ronne Rock's book 'One Woman Can Change the World' is a tapestry of interwoven reflections from her experiences of travelling the world, the stories of the tremendous women she encounters who are changing their world right where they are, and with Biblical women whose journeys are shared in the Scriptures. Each section of the book introduces us to one or two women who are making a difference in their communities, and are becoming leaders that we can learn many life lessons from. In her humanitarian journeys around the world, Ronne Rock encounters women making the most of the situation they find themselves in, with the strength of God in their lives and in their hearts. Ronne Rock does an exemplary job of bringing us into each of the women's stories, and at the end of each section I felt that I had indeed been changed by hearing the journey's of these women and the words they spoke which will now echo in my mind as I seek to make a difference in the world right where I find myself.
Ronne has rocked my world in so many ways! Her passion and conviction are contagious. She has helped me build confidence in my God-given purpose and value to make a difference in this world. If you have ever doubted you have something of worth to offer or simply want to live a life of significance, this book will show you the way to your part in God’s bigger story.
One Woman Can Change The World is the full breath of fresh air that every woman needs in their lives. One Woman Can Change The World will leave you a weepy, happy, motivated, empowered woman who realizes - they can be that woman too- and who will be ready to take on the world!
Whenever I pick up a book in this genre I write down a few quotes and eventually donate the book. They leave me feeling like the amount of work I have to do to fit into this world and be a global changer is either common sense or so out of the realm of possibility that I leave feeling discouraged- at best. "One Woman Can Change The World" was different. This is a leadership book in that it is a leader in itself. A force of inspiration that goes against the grain of any book that claims to do what this one actually does. It meets you where you are and shows you how you can change this world.
The stories of the women told are not only inspirational- they are breathtakingly beautiful. Their stories motivate me in a way that exemplifies that "courage taken is courage given." I highlighted over 50 quotes (some entire pages) in this because I couldn't get enough. I never anticipated that a book could remind me of the very purpose of God and what my role is in it but this one managed to do just that.
There are a few things I love in this world. Great coffee with a friend. Big bear hugs. Books that tell stories that matter and speak life into your own. Traveling like a wayfaring stranger. Reading this one is a mixture of all of these things.
You’ll find friends you didn’t know you had or needed. You’ll stumble upon laughter and tears. You’ll walk through some fire and go shopping for milk. And when you finish? You’ll find it’s just the beginning.
This book is inviting, magnificent, delightful, inspiring, and a great reminder of how beautifully and purposefully God has designed women. It’s absolutely incredible.

"Words are indeed mighty things...the true power of using our voices is found in speaking the language of those who need to hear." These 24 words sum up my feelings about Ronne Rock's One Woman Can Change The World. An expert story teller, she weaves together the amazing stories of the women who lead, God's power in and calling on each of their lives, and her own heart-opening experiences with the women and the Jesus who is accessible, active, creative & (LOVE the Ampersand chapter) present. I am encouraged by the thread of starting small - where I am with what I have, surrendering to the nudges of God, showing up and listening, leaning in to the moment by moment power of Jesus, and rejoicing in the lives saved, changed, & empowered. There is hope for our world and it comes through women answering the call to be the hands and feet of God. Ronne used her voice and mighty words to speak the language that we need to hear in this present time.
Ronne Rock’s story telling about the lives of these women allowed me to see that the seemingly “small” things in my life are important and meaningful. My favorite thing about these stories is that while these women are doing amazing work, they are simply living faithfully to who is in front of them, they continue one step at a time no matter how lovely or clumsy, they value being present with people, and they keep in sight the vision that is in their heart—namely, one of hope. This book felt like a world tour of meeting so many new friends. Along the way I was inspired by their lives and returned with a refueled hope for my life. I am sure this is a book I will return to over the years for encouragement and will likely be gifting to some women in my life!
From the introduction to the last page this book will inspire you to get out and change your world. In this book, Ronne weaves the stories of women who day in and day out simply get up and decide to keep doing what is right in front of them that is their's to do with colorful threads that will make you gasp at the brilliance of their beauty. So often we think well I can't do "that"...so we don't do anything at all. The women in this book show each of us that to change the world you get up and do the next right thing in faith...and let God do the rest.
Ronne Rock's voice shines through in this book! Her prowess in writing draws out lessons and admiration from many women she has had the opportunity to know closely. I am enjoying the book and it is a smooth read because of the witty and articulate way she tells these stories. It is powerful how she confronts several lies that many women may face. As a man, it is a great opportunity to sit and learn more deeply the world changing effect women are having and are more than qualified for. What a gift to hear these impactful stories otherwise I would not have the opportunity to hear!
I’ve often felt like my life is small. As much as I love God and trust that He will use me where I am, I’ve still been tempted to believe that what I do doesn’t really matter. Ronne’s book tells story after story of how women she has met all over the world have been faithful with their small, allowing God to use them to accomplish big things. Right where they are. With what little they have. If you struggle with believing you matter, this book will set your heart and mind on the truth that God uses each of us where He places us. Mightily. One woman can change the world. Thank you, Ronne.
