“I married her to protect her. I love her because I don’t know how to not love her.”

Wolfe Constantine married his friend’s little sister to fulfill a debt.

Nissa was kind, smart, and incredibly sexy. Everything he could want in a woman and more, but he had to keep his hands to himself. The marriage was never supposed to be real. Wolfe didn’t believe in happily ever after or commitment.

When the impulse to touch her became too much, Wolfe chose to walk away.

Four years later and one bump to his head later, Wolfe has years missing from his memory. Including the fact that he was ever married.

After giving Nisa several brief questions he agrees that it’s OK for her to take him home while he gets better. Nissa has always loved Wolf. But he’s always said that she was too young. Nisa believes this is their time to get reacquainted and maybe show that she is not too young. As bits and pieces of Wolfe’s memory starts to come back, he realizes why he left her. why he believes that she is still under his skin. Can you prove that he’s a changed man? Nissa wants prove to him that she is older and wiser and still believe that he’s the only one for her ?

This is a story of two beautiful people finding the love they had always had between them. Its also about learning to trust each other.
Wolfe was in an accident and has lost his memory, he doesnt remember anything, but most of all he cant remember being married.
Nissa has not seen Wolfe for 4 years ever since he walked out the door leaving her nothing but a note behind and a broken heart.
He felt he wasnt good enough for her! Will he remember? Will the love they shared be enough to bring him back?

This is the story of Nissa and Wolfe. When her brother is killed by an explosion, Wolfe has to bring her the bad news. To protect her, he marries Nissa and brings her to the US. When Wolfe starts to fall in love with her, he leaves her. While he is out camping, he gets injured and loses his memory and the life he shared with Nissa. Now this story starts to get really good. This book really is about taking a chance when it’s offered. Wolfe had married Nissa only to ensure her safety after her brother had died. He left before their relationship could develop into anything substantial. Nissa receives a call some years later and their story begins. It’s one of healing, gradual acceptance and finally commitment. A nicely told story.

Wolfe has lost his memory and does not remember being married. Nissa has not seen Wolfe since he walked out there door leaving nothing but a note behind. Now the hospital has called and told her she is his emergency contact and she is the only one they can release him to. This is a story about two people finding the love that has always been between them and learning to trust one another. This is a really great romance and I look forward to reading more about the Constantine brothers.

Another amazing book from this author. I am always excited when I see a book by this author as she has never disappointed me and always produced a well-crafted story with plenty of emotion and characters with depth. Her characters and stories tend to be very down to earth and easy to relate to. Absolutely loved this story and it made staying awake all night well worth it when I can see the morning in with such a fantastic book.

With Wolfe, Jen Durand wrote a lovely love story. With many sweet moments, very tender and hot interactions, and a few funny ones, the book lays out the perfect path for these two characters to come back together and love. It is also lovely that along that path, Wolfe and his brothers find their way back to one anoWolfe married Nissa during a time that they were both mourning a devastating loss. He was her protector and benefactor. Though she made it clear to him that her feelings ran deep, he could not bring himself to be more than anything than a brother, a roommate to her. What she did not know, and it took him a very long time to admit is that he did have feelings for her. He was just too afraid to admit it. Now they have a chance at love on their terms. The problem is that Wolfe cannot seem to get beyond his past so that he can embrace his present and his future. He is his own worse enemy when it comes to relationships. You cannot help but want him to work through all of his issues. You want him to grab his happiness with all of his heart.

Nissa is such a great person that you want her to be happy. She held out hope that Wolfe would come around, and when he re-entered her life, she was not going to let him go. She put her heart out there, and now he will either be the husband and man that she knows he is, or he will hurt her more deeply than anyone ever has.ther.

This was an interesting premise that I couldn’t wait to read. I liked the story though some editing issues didn’t help. I think the story could have been more interesting and enjoyable if there had been more depth. I liked the characters but the story fell flat for me.

This is Book 1 in the Constantine Brothers Series and my first read by this author. I must say that I quite enjoyed the storyline and the characters. It is a sweet second chance romance between estranged spouses, Nissa, and her older brother's friend, Wolfe. Once they re-connect, it is a journey of self-discovery as these very different characters figure out a renewed relationship between them with love and intimacy while dealing with life's challenges. It is a love story dealing with redemption and maturing love, along with some drama, humor, and steam, plus engaging secondary characters to keep the reader interested. Overall, it is an interesting read with heart, heat, and a happy ending.

“Wolfe” starts with the main character waking up in a hospital with amnesia. Wolfe has no memory of the last few years of his life including his wife of 8 years, Nissa. The truth is the marriage is in name only. Is this a chance to change that? This book is a good exploration of what makes a relationship real, what it takes to make a marriage work, the value of opening up to another person and the gift of unconditional love. This story is a thoughtful friendship to finally lovers romance.

3.5 stars. They had a green card marriage and he thought of her as a little sister - or so he said. He left when she could stand on her own two feet because was haunted by past he felt he was destined to repeat.

Wolfe and Nissa have a second chance at resurrecting their marriage. The story had a gloomy feeling to it and Nissa provided the light the both needed to live in the present.

I liked the book until about the half way point and it seemed to get slow. I might have liked the brooding Wolfe a little better than the “second half of the book” Wolfe.

I’m not a fan of the romance genre. What I enjoy out of the books I read is humor, love/sex, and action (stalker, kidnapping, murder). I also don’t read books under two hundred pages because they tend to be predictable. I took a chance on this book because I liked the synopsis.

With all that being said. I liked this story. If it could have been a hundred pages longer with exploring the angle of Wolfe having been attacked as opposed to falling I would have liked it more.

Lastly, editing was pretty bad. So much so I’ve deducted half a star because of it.

My rating is 2-1/2 stars.

Wolfe was on active duty in combat and Jacque was his interpreter when an IED put an end to the life of one, and to the career of the other. Wolfe fulfilled his promise to Jac to take care of his baby sister Nissa

Can an act of kindness give a broken man a second chance or two at love and family, or is only more heartbreak in store?

Bittersweet relationships and romance

This is book one of The Constantine Brothers and follows the story of Wolfe and Nissa. Wolfe was a soldier and worked with Nissa’s brother, who was a translator for his team. When Nissa’s brother was killed whilst on duty and in what Wolfe thought of as his fault, him being in the driver’s seat instead of him, he took it upon himself to look after Nissa, after she lost her brother and her only remaining family. Her brother had often spoken about her to Wolfe and the rest of their team, so Wolfe knew what his dreams for Nissa were. His idea of looking out for her was to marry her days after her brother died and to bring her back to America to live with him. He helped her with the language, got her into school, a car and basically moved her in with him, but only as a brother sister sort of marriage. He saw the age difference as too big and she was too young when he took her away from everything she knew.

But after four years, he just disappeared on her and left without a word. He had started to get too comfy in their marriage and wanting to make it real, but that wasn’t the arrangement they had when it started. He didn’t believe in commitment or happy ever after and marriage itself wasn’t something he ever thought he would do. His childhood left him deeply damaged and it isn’t something he talks about much. She has carried on with her life and even succeed in her career and continuing her education to gain her masters. She was in love with Wolfe for years and the only time she tried to make it clear to him, he rebuffed her and then left shortly after. No one else has met his standards and she is surprised to get a call from the local hospital, stating he is injured and she is listed as his next of kin. Why one of his three brothers wasn’t called, is something she can’t understand.

Wolfe and his brothers have never been close, having been split apart whilst very young, by a tragic event in their family, which left them all living separate lives. He and his twin brother Roman went to different care homes and their two younger brother, Liam and Aidan were adopted by different families and almost too young to know what happened. A camping trip and a bump to his head, leaves Wolfe back in the care of his wife, who he hasn’t seen for four years, and now cannot even remember being married to! A marriage that was originally made as a life debt to her brother, but is now more complicated and could finally be a proper marriage. A cute love story of one really damaged individual and the young woman who finally manages to crack his protective shell and get him to let her in. I enjoyed reading it and learning the back story of Wolfe and Nissa, but be warned about some graphic sex scenes and some annoying typos. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Wolfe was in the service in Haiti where he was in the military and Jacques was his translator. Nissa was Jac aka Jacques brother and had been caring for her in Haiti after their parents died in a car accident he took over as her guardian. Jac and Wolfe were driving in a Humvee going to help build a school for some of the children in Haiti when all of a sudden when he turns their is an explosion. Nissa's brother Jac dies and he asks Wolfe to take care of his sister. So he married her before they left Haiti and moved in with him where he paid for 4 years of college for her in Nursing and an apartment and lived with her for four years as a friend and not as a partner in marriage. This story tells of Wolfe married Nissa to bring her to America but she wanted more and he did and didn't because of his childhood experiences. Its a good story it has a little bit of drama, it discussed issues such as childhood trauma and how to deal with it after you get grown and even when you are a child. This is Wolfe and Nissa's story. Wolfe had left Nissa for four years after he realized he was getting to close to her but he always kept an eye on her from a distance. She had become a nurse and even went back to school and received her Masters but Wolfe had never divorced Nissa and still listed him as a contact. He woke up in a hospital where he had been taken because he had hit his head and had hypothermia for being out in the woods and no one knew how long he had been there. So they called Nissa so they could release him to someone who would watch over him until he healed. This is the story of how they healed each other body soul and mind. Good Read. There is still Roman's story which I read and Liam and Aiden's story.

This is the first book of the Series of the Constantine brothers. Wolfe was a soldier and was in Haiti. While he was in Haiti, he met Jacque, Nissa's older brother. They were in a mission, and Jacque was driving instead of Wolfe. He received a direct impact and died, leaving Nissa alone. Wolfe felt responsible of her and married her and took her back to USA and provided education and support, but not love. Their relationship was not real, at least, not at the beginning and they know it. But Nissa fall for him, and he began to develop feelings for her. However, he was carrying a big baggage that does not allow him to open and be happy with Nissa. He wants to protect her, ever from him. One day he left and after years without knowing anything about him, she received a call from a hospital that her husband was found in the woods and we lost part of his memories. She was his emergency contact and she has to be responsible for him.
Will Wolfe recover his memories and discover what happened? Will they reconnect and make the fake marriage a real one? Will Wolfe finally open to Nissa and tell her the truth about his past? Will the have a second chance?
Great plot and characters. I loved that Nissa never gave up and loved him to the end. Highly recommended. Can't wait to read the other brothers stories.

3 STARS for Wolfe by Jen Durand

ARC received from Booksprout in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are my own and have not been influenced in any way.

This book for me moved pretty slowly and to be honest did not really hold my attention.

Age gap romance 10 yrs
Second chance romance
HEA
Interesting characters with some real life issues / relatable problems

Wolfe Constantine marries Nessa to give her a chance to rebuild her life after her brother and parents deaths. They have been separated for (4) years when Wolfe has an accident and temporarily loses some of his memory - one important fact that he is married and that he loves his wife but is afraid of what they try to build together lasting. This story only starts to work when Nessa decides to go for what she wants - building a loving relationship with Wolfe.

This was the first book I have read by this author and although the premise of the storyline is a promising one it was just a bit lacking for me.

Wolfe is Book 1 in ‘The Constantine Brothers’ series and tells the story of Wolfe and Nissa. Wolfe is in the military, along with Nissa’s brother, Jacque. They are in Jacque’s home country, Haiti, when he is killed while on duty, leaving Nissa an orphan at 19 years old. Wolfe, who is 10 years her senior, marries her and brings her to the US in order to get her a green card. The marriage is in name only but he continues to live with her and support her for 5 years when he finds himself falling in love with her so he makes a decision to leave, believing he is protecting her from his dark past. Nissa is devastated but manages to carry on and builds a life for herself. Four years later, following a freak accident, their paths cross again.

I really enjoyed this book, the storyline is both captivating and enthralling and also quite moving when we learn about Wolfe’s tragic past. I can’t wait to read ‘Roman’, who is Wolfe’s twin brother, which is the next book in the series. Well worth a read.

I adored Wolfe and Nissa. This was a cute and to the point second chance romance that hit all the points. Wolfe was a man very tortured by his past to the point he felt it defined him. When he married Nissa as a way to fulfill a wish to her brother he finally meets someone who sees him and sees past his barriers. He falls in love and lust all at once, but gives into nothing. Eventually he leaves his wife of 4 years behind.
Nissa was a very sweet, beautiful, and lively woman. Married at 19 she fell in love with her husband and when he left she learned to live with it but never stopped loving him. She felt he prepared her for the next stage of her life, A career, a home, stable life, and a future....only thing she did not have was love.
When they are reunited years later after he has an accident they get a second chance together. Being older and wiser is it their time to be together or will they still be held back by doubts?

This is a beautiful and sweet story and both characters developed soo much together and apart.

This is a beautifully written story about two people learning to trust. Wolfe had married his friend's sister, Nissa, to fulfill a debt. This was a marriage in name only. He ends up leaving her because he feels he's not good enough for her. After he has an accident which caused some if his memories to be lost, he doesn't remember being married to Nissa. It is now up to Nissa to prove to him that they do belong together. Ms. Durand has written an excellent story filled with so much depth and was a very emotional read. It really pulled at my heartstrings and I felt so bad for Wolfe. This is a beautiful second chance romance with lovable and endearing characters. You can really feel the chemistry between Wolfe and Nissa when she is trying to help him remember. This is a truly heartwarming story that I would definitely recommend.

When out on a mission, an IED ends his career and the life of his friend and translator Jacque. Jacque always spoke of his sister, Nissa, and after Jacque’s death, Wolfe felt compelled to protect and take care of Nissa. He married her, brought her to the U.S. taught her English, gave her a college education and once he felt she could take care of herself, he left. After 4 yrs of being together he couldn’t deal the feelings that he had developed for Nissa. Although their marriage was one of convenience and friendship only, four years after he walked away, he wakes up in a hospital and can’t remember the last 10 years of his life When Nissa comes to the hospital to pick him up, he doesn’t know her. Then she says she is his wife. He can’t remember marrying her. A very compelling story and characters that draw you in. Loved this emotional and heartwarming second chance romance.2

This was an incredibly sweet romance. I especially loved how well the past is weaved into the present, so you aren't lost or feeling unclear about what happened previously as they move through their story. I'm actually a sucker for the amnesia trope, so I very much enjoyed seeing how this played out and despite the conflict that Wolfe had with himself and not wanting to be married, it was actually an incredibly sweet romance. I enjoyed how much we got to see of Nissa and Wolfe interacting with each other and getting to know each other again. Despite this being a very high angst subject matter, the book itself was not high angst, and none of the drama felt manufactured or overdone - it just worked really well. I can't wait now to go and read the books about Wolfe's brother Roman!
