Yes they have their challenges, not least that she’s investigating his family, but the fireworks are in the bedroom and in their hearts , so great to read.

I just loved this book. It was so well-written that it captured my mind and I was dragged along for the ride. Once I started reading I could not put it down until I read the last page.

This was my first time to read a book by
L. A. Pepper and I really enjoyed it! When you step out and try a new author you never know what to expect, but I have to say L.A. knows how to deliver a great romantic story that brings plenty of suspense and twists to go along with it.
Alex is a PI who’s job is to catch husbands who are cheating on their wives. While waiting at a bar one night instead of catching the eye of the cheating husband she just so happens to catch the eye of a handsome doctor that’s new to the area. Dr. Jordan approaches Alex and the connection they feel for each other is intense. They spend the night together agreeing it’s only one time, but knowing they both want it to be more. Will they be able to overcome the major obstacles they are fixing to face or will all the secrets keep them apart?
I thought the author did a great job with this story, it definitely kept my attention the whole way through and in my opinion was very well written! I’ll most definitely be reading more of her books!

This story is totally different, captivating, very interesting,and many emotions. I was very intrigue what was going on in the story. Cameron is beautiful, intelligent, sweet,and devoted. She works as a handler at The Agency and she have the hots for Gio. She is super smart and calculated with everything she does. Giovanni is rich,smart, Italian sexy, and a man with many secrets. Giovanni has alot going on and his conflicted himself. He works as a operative at The Agency. This story is griping! It will blow your mind! The writing was done beautifully and has your attention throughout the story. Amazing work again L.A.Pepper!

June 18, 2020I would have expected this one to be called the Single Mom's Secrets. I'm not a fan of keeping secrets in relationships, but it did seem like she meant well. I liked how strong the female lead was. This was one of the more complex L.A. Pepper book's I've listened to, in a good way.
I listened to the Audible version. Natalie May did well with the narration. She has a pleasant voice. Dual narrators would have helped set the character's voices apart more for the dual points of view.

Getting caught with his hand in the honeypot........or not as the case may be
The Doctors Secrets is the first book I have read by L.A. Pepper so I was not sure what to expect with this "new to me" author. Plus it is one of the author's first published books. What I found impressed me as the story nicely cohesive, it is well written and edited and the characters are likeable. Not everything is perfect but if the author continues to improve and publish books of this and better quality then I for one will be reading them when I have the opportunity.

Now that is what I called a closet so full of skeletons as the secrets just keep in popping out with dire consequences.
Gripping and emotionally draining read, as I was reading I was having some questions but glad that the author so of answers them and am eagerly looking forward to the next book in the series hoping that my anxiety will be put to rest.
Love the clues hinted at but they still left questions in my mind.

I was not expecting that storyline to be totally honest. There was so much going on. Excellent storyline with great characters. Very enjoyable. Brilliant narration.

April Hamilton doesn't trust well but when her fathers best friend sees her sparks fly between them , but its 1 night no strings but 7 years go by and now her secret is going to be found out when she runs into Beau again will he be able to forgive her? April also learns her father has a secret family will it destroy her and Beau since he knew about the Mistress? This is one book that is a must read. I absolutely loved it.

August 26, 2019* Somewhat of a spoiler* Alexandra or as she likes to be called Alex is a private detective and a single mother. She dreamed of more but her plans were sidetracked when she got pregnant and her job is a way to pay bills. A large number of her cases are acting as a honeypot where she tries to trap cheating husbands. One night she's on a case and after waiting hours for the man she's supposed to prove is a cheater she learns he isn't coming that night. While sitting waiting she's noticed a very attractive man. They've been kind of eyeing each other. As normal when She is on a case she's had to reject many men coming on to her. But as she's ready to leave her mystery man introduces himself and she finds herself tempted. They talk and he asks her to coffee. As a single mother she doesn't date and is lonely. Her daughter is with her grandmother for the night so she says to herself she deserves one night. So instead of coffee she asks him to take her to his place and they spend a very hot night together. But before he wakes up she slips out without knowing anything about him but his first name Jordan. After all it's supposed to be one fantasy night. To her shock she runs into him the next morning. It's awkward, he wants more but she thinks she doesn't have time to date. Later at work she finds out he is the son of the man she was waiting for the night before who turns out to be a criminal. She's asked to get close to Jordan in order to get evidence on his father and to see if Jordan is guilty also. Reluctantly she agrees. She has 3 goals. Get the evidence, prove Jordan innocent, and and not fall in love because she's deceiving Jordan and he's falling in love with her. Things happen both good and bad and they find themselves in danger and only by working together can they get through it. This book ends with a hea in both their personal and professional lives.
The author wrote a tight story with enough tension, drama and passion to keep you reading until the end. The editing was good enough to not be distracting and I finished with a smile on my face. I definitely recommend this book.

(Leanne) Pepper is relatively new to the publishing scene – she has five novels and one affirmation journal to introduce her talents to the reading public, all published this year! LA loves bad boy billionaire romances and she manages to whip up fresh ideas for the satisfaction of the Chick Lit audience.
The author’s affinity for the bad boy billionaire image is evident as she opens this novel with an atmosphere that is telling – “My dear, you are stunning.” The older man, débonnaire, with silver temples and a smile, leaned against the edge of the bar. I tilted my head to him without giving anything away, “Thank you for the compliment, but I’m meeting someone.” He leaned closer/. “You could be meeting me. My private jet is waiting. August 26, 2019This is the first book I've read by L.A. Pepper but it certainly won't be my last! It was absolutely fantastic and I loved every minute of it! Alex meets Jordan in a bar one night. She is a private investigator hired to find a cheating husband. But he never shows up. Jordan has been waiting for his father to show up and watching Alex all night. When his father doesn't show, he approaches Alex and the two end up spending the night together in his penthouse. He wakes the next morning to find her gone, no note, no phone number. He is disappointed but it doesn't last. He's a pediatrician and who should walk into his clinic that day but Alex and her daughter Trini. The two agree to see each other again after he treats her daughter and the romance begins. Nothing is simple however as Alex is approached by the FBI. They are trying to bring down Jordan's father but nobody can get close enough. They want Alex to get close to Jordan and see what she can find out. She's reluctant to do it, she's falling in love with Jordan and doesn't want to lie to him but a chance to be an FBI agent will help her give her daughter a better life. She tries to clear Jordan and get evidence on his father but it's not working. When a bug she plants in his office gives her inside information on his father's plans, she ends up telling Jordan everything. He rejects her and it breaks her heart but she figured when he found out, she would lose him. A phone call to his father that she overhears has her following him in hopes of getting the evidence she needs to clear Jordan's name. It all goes wrong when she is caught and taken to meet Jordan's father. Just when things are desperate, the FBI shows up, Jordan's mother in tow, and they let them know that they have everything they need to take down his father. This allows Jordan and Alex to start over and get their happily ever after in the end.

Better than the cover indicates, The Doctor’s Secrets is a solid book for a new author. The writing is good, the storyline interesting, and the characters are likeable. I would’ve liked it more if there wasn’t such a rushed, instalove feel to the romance, but it’s only novella-length so I can’t begrudge it that too much.
The story follows Alex, a single mom who works as a honeypot for a private investigator to pay the bills - she dresses up in her sexiest clothes and lures in married men who are accused of cheating to see if they’ll take the bait. When her latest mark fails to show up, she meets Jordan instead, who is attracted to her despite the fake exterior she’s put on for the night, not because of it. Knowing she’s only got one evening away from her daughter, Alex falls into bed with Jordan and the two share a connection that runs deeper than the physical. She walks away the next morning thinking she’ll never see him again... until he turns out to be her daughter’s new pediatrician. Unfortunately, he’s also her mark’s son and things get complicated for the two.

Alex is a single mom trying to find her way in life. She works for a private detective. Most of her job is research but once in a while she has to go out and catch a cheating husband in the act. That's how she meets Jordan. Jordan is a pediatrician who wants to help the world with his family's money. He has moved back home from California in order to start a foundation to help people who can't normally afford medical care. He wants nothing to do with his criminal family but he has to deal with them because the money for his foundation came from the family. Alex and Jordan connect instantly but she has to lie to him about who she is and what she does for a living. In the end, they are forced to face those lies and figure out if they can get through them.
I like Jordan even though he was a little bit too perfect. Jordan's mother is hardcore! I don't fully understand her responses but I figure she's had lots of years to reach this point so I say "go girl". I like Alex being a private detective. That makes her a little bit badass.
I enjoyed this story because it made sense. I enjoyed the relationships of the main characters and the side characters. The bad guys were bad but not ridiculously over the top. I did not like the timeline at the end of the story. The reality of the world is that legal issues never get wrapped up quickly and cleanly but it allowed the story to end on a high note so it's ok.

But, their new-found relationship is put to the test when Alex is pulled into an investigation by the FBI, to take down Jordan's father. She has to prove Jordan's innocence while trying to keep everything hidden from him as their relationship grows. Will she be able to save Jordan and their relationship, while proving his father guilty in more than just adultery? You have to read to see.
LA Pepper does a fantastic job weaving the perfect amount of suspense and just the right amount of steam in this story. I was thoroughly impressed with this novel. I loved that her heroine is just as strong and intelligent as the hero. I highly recommend this read if you are looking for a steamy read that has the happy ending without triggers.

I thought the author did a great job with this story, it definitely kept my attention the whole way through and in my opinion was very well written! I’ll most definitely be reading more of her books!

L. A. Pepper and I really enjoyed it! When you step out and try a new author you never know what to expect, but I have to say L.A. knows how to deliver a great romantic story that brings plenty of suspense and twists to go along with it.

Alex is a single mother who is a P. I. and out to catch a cheating husband. Her mark does not show up but Jordan is there and sparks fly, so much so that she agrees to going home with him. Both have so many secrets yet fate seems to throw them together.
Danger, betrayal, and steamy scenes can all be found in this amazing contemporary romance. The characters are so chalked full of personality that you can not help but be drawn to them as individuals and as a couple. The author expertly weaves all the elements into a storyline full with surprises, twists and turns that have you on your seat until the climax. The thing I enjoyed the most is how much the characters learned about themselves and were able to forgive and learn to trust despite the circumstances they were placed under. It is a great contemporary romance that is easy to read and hard to put down. Give it a read.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This story is about a single mother named Alex who works as a private investigator and was hired to catch a powerful man in a honey trap. The night she was supposed to meet the man, she heard the job was cancelled while she was still at the bar. Another man named Jordan approached her and she decided she wanted to spend the night with him. The next morning, Alex left before Jordan woke and when she arrived to pick up her daughter, she was sick and Alex took her to the doctor, and was shocked to see the new doctor was Jordan. Jordan wanted to see her again, but Alex was unsure. When Alex was approached by the FBI to gather information about Jordan and his father, she learned Jordan was the son of the man she was originally hired to catch. Alex wanted to get the evidence to catch his father, but to also prove Jordan was innocent. I liked this story. I didn't expect the story to go the way it did and found it very entertaining. I really liked Jordan and thought he was a really good guy and cared about Alex. Good one.

Alex is a single mom that works for a PI to get proof on guys that are cheating on their women. When her latest assignment doesn't show she decides to take advantage of her night out and meets Jordan. They have an amazing night together and she doesn't expect to see him again. However turns out he is her daughter's pediatrician and he is the son of the mark from the night before. Now her job got even more harder because her boss wants her to get close to Jordan in order to take down his father. Will Jordan forgive Alex her deception?
This is an amazing story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story about Jordan and Alex. She's a private investigator, single mom and trying to make something for her family. He's a pediatrician and trying to get out from his family's questionable business. When they meet she's trying to Honeypot a mark, unbeknownst to her happens to be Jordan's dad. He's come home at his mother's begging to open a clinic with the Good Friend Foundation and to reconnect. But his father insist he gets involved with the family business, which is not totally legal. When Jordan and Alex hit it off, it causes a snag, he's the marks son. The two develop a relationship but is it a lie that will be able to be overcome. Great HEA in the end with justice being served.
