The Shadow Queen begins her attack. Can the Council learn their purpose in time?
The four members of the Council begin to work together as they search for the fifth. Finding that person might be the only way to stop the Shadow Queen. They’ll need all the help they can get, but the remaining Elders have disappeared, leaving only those they’ve chosen to replace them.
As the Shadow Queen’s nearly unstoppable attackers begin to move, the four new members of the Council are all that stand between her gaining the power she’s sought for centuries. Each of them has a role to play, but the game is not what they have thought. Anticipating what she might do requires finding one who knows her mind, but that way opens each to her machinations.
Enemies must put aside differences. Beliefs are shattered. And sacrifices must be made.
The thrilling conclusion to the Elder Stones Saga!
I thoroughly enjoyed this series. The prompts for reviewing asked me what, if anything, I didn't like and if I would I recommend this series. I recommend this series to any and all. It contains love, action, suspense, intrigue ... I honestly say there wasn't any portion of this series that I didn't like. It made me laugh, it made me anxious, there were times that I can say that I was sad. This is a wonderful series and you will be glad you picked it up.
I feel a bit bad about not stopping along the way to write a review after each book, but the truth is, I could hardly wait for each new book to download to my Kindle app, to keep reading.
These are some well-developed characters, who you care about and root for. Not only the 4 primary protagonists, but the secondary characters as well. It gives the story depth.
The fantasy backstory and magical abilities add fun, excitement, and quite a bit of mystery! I loved the entire series!
This is a good series but it was too long. If there had been less talking it could have been over two books ago. Also, Indassa was called Charisse in one book but Indassa in the others. She went back and forth from niece to sister of the Architect too. That sort of thing is irritating.
Characters are well drawn and there is plenty of action. Holmberg manages to create an extended narrative that draws one along, bringing the pieces of the story and the characters together to a satisfying ending. This is the last of eight books and each of them has drawn me in and kept my interest.
I can't say enough about this series. Every book was amazing, with a perfect ending! Every character grew into their own style of their heroics versions of themselves thru out the series. This series is action packed. A must read if you love a storyline that keeps you wondering what will happen next. I highly recommend this series!
Book 8 had errors throughout and was predictable. The plot was predictable and the characters were likable enough. The MC ran around trying to find answers from everyone except those right in front of them. It was a bit annoying with the continuous back and forth of not understanding. The story also felt rushed at the end and did not flow well.
This Elder Stones Saga has become one of my favorite reads. D.K. Holmbergs World Building is 2nd to none. A Masterclass in writing and story building. D.K. has become one of my favorite Authors and can't wait for what's next. Powerful!! Superbly written which allowed me to get pulled into the story. I didn't want to leave.
You write the most amazing books, kept me totally engrossed. I wish you had more to the series, like what did the council do, what each person carried on to do with there life
I read all 8 books in one week of Pandemic Covid 19 isolation. The characters developed and strengthened. It was a great series and read. Thank-you! Jeannie Wilson
Not as spectacular an ending as the elemental academy series, and probably could have benefitted from an epilogue of sorts. Finding the 5th council member was anti climactic and really was left undescribed. Since the book was geared toward that goal I feel it wasn't given enough attention. It should have included an entire chapter on it's own. Anyway, I think the world of the dark ability seems to have run its course. Thanks for the good read.
I have been waiting to read this final book(8). I don't know whether I missed it earlier but better late than never. After all this time it took some time to get back into it and catch up with the story. Once I caught with it I began to enjoy it again. I follow all this author's books. Radarman
Feels as if the story is unfinished! That’s not a bad thing as I think we will be coming back to this story at some point. As the authors experience increases he had the ability to step into the world of the epic fantasies.
I really enjoyed this conclusion to the story that feels so long ago.
Having read all the books in this and all the previous series I have to say this was a great read. The good vs evil and what was evil maybe not so much. Thanks for the unique fabric of this universe.
I found the scenario quite unique and well developed. The various characters and how they interacted worked well. Might read the compilation again now that I know the outline.
