I read Seven Seconds and loved it, so I was looking forward to the second book in this series. I was thrilled that we pick up with Olivia Osborne just days after the shooting of The Good Samaritan Killer from book one. FBI Agent Silas Branch is keeping watch over our heroine and Lt. Barry Bartholomew of SAPD is mourning the death of his partner as the book begins. The author does a great job of giving the reader a recap of the events of the previous book which is very helpful.
Fruit of the Poison Tree tells us how the case of The Good Samaritan Killer has affected our characters and we gain more understanding of them as the story progresses. And there is a new case that requires the special skills of Olivia. This is definitely a page turner! I could not put it down because I had to know what was going to happen next! I highly recommend this book - even if you have not read the first one you will enjoy reading this one and trying to figure out "who did what" and "why they did it."
