Coming Home

Rate this book
Shelby Collier and Benjamin Shay were best friends growing up. They dreamed of being lifelong mates. Even through the awkward middle school years and into high school it was always Shelby and Ben.

The night before he left for boot camp, Ben broke the news that he had joined the military. There was no warning or discussions, he simply turned his back and walked away from Collier with no plans on ever returning. That was nine years ago.

Shelby held on to Ben all these years, writing to him every day to try to fill the void he left behind in her heart. With the encouragement of her sisters, she’s finally ready to face the truth. Ben is never coming home. It’s time to let go and move on with her life.

Now, a devastating accident at the ranch has Ben home for emergency leave. It’s a small town and only a matter of time before he crosses paths with the woman he ran from so long ago.

Lies and secrets will unfold. Old feelings will reignite, but can Shelby ever forgive him for leaving and turning his back on their love and friendship? And will Ben be able to accept her once he learns the truth of the secret she’s kept from him all these years?

They’ve been given a second chance at love, but can they mend the broken promises of their youth to find their way back to each other again?

Ben and Shelby were best friends their entire lives. They lost their virginity to each other. They were everything to each other. When Ben hears that Shelby is another wolf's true mate, he's devastated. He foolishly joins the military, leaves town, never to return again. He ends up assigned to an all shifter, special ops unit, known as the Ghosts.

Shelby has loved Ben all her life. She doesn't understand why he just up and left town. She's been writing him a letter everyday for the past nine years. She stopped mailing them after he never replied, but she has continued to stay faithful to the love of her life.

When a family tragedy brings Ben home, he's shocked to find Shelby isn't mated. He's even more shocked when his wolf alerts him, she's their one true mate!

This was cute and enjoyable but surprisingly, Ben and Shelby were kinda boring. I literally have no idea why this one was less entertaining than the rest of this series. I think Ben got on my nerves when he kept stalling on claiming his mate.

I enjoyed Ben and Shelby, but had zero closure with the ending...The whole shifter military unit known as the Ghosts was a cool concept. I wasn't happy with how there was no closure with finding out who was behind sabotaging the Ghosts. I also didn't understand Jake, a human, had shifter attributes, but wasn't a shifter. Maybe that's another story for another series?

The triplets were a cute surprise, but felt a little forced. I suspended reality and just went with it. Shelby deserved a happy ending after 9 years of hell.

Wish I could give it a 5.

I've really liked this series. I gave the other books higher ratings. But I don't care for the continuous replay of the other books. It would probably take away about one-fourth of each book. There were many misspelled words, and incorrect sentencing. Wolves are passionate creatures, so why would he call his mate sport? It made him seem like a coach or a much older man which was awkward and creepy. I do enjoy the writing style. The author has a way of wanting you to peek ahead because you want to know what happens.

I tried

I read like 4 of her books, I wanted to give her a.chance to.convince me to read the rest. I thought maybe I just picked one of two that perhaps were not a good representation of her work. But yeah, no, this is as far as I'm willing to stay in this bus.

I swear this book was as repetitive as the others. It seems like the characters have these deep secrets.they have carried for at least - actually predictably sometime between eight and ten years. They suddenly get the urge to tell everyone and their mamma about said secrets. So guess what ? We get to read about them over and over again. Then there's the fact that at least the ones I read, all kind of sounded like the others. Way too similar which makes them terribly unoriginal and predictable. She had a solid conflict to take.across the series, and it was really underdeveloped, sad since it had great potential.

Her work is definitely amateurish. It's hard to read a shifter book like this one, when there are so ma y fantastic ones already out there.

End of a series

This is the last book in a series that started with the Weston Pack and followed right through to the Collier Pack. Each book filled along with the previous book so the story progressed seamlessly. These are some of the best books I have read in a very long time. The characters step out of the book and they become your friends and family. I hated to see it end.

These are sold shifter mostly but there are so many others mixed in. There is definitely romance going on here but there are other parts too. Some of it I laughed through, some I got angry, some I cried through. I was attached to all these people and I hope they will be around for a long time. I will definitely be reading them again in the future. I really want to be a wolf shifter.

Shelby Collier and Benjamin Shay were inseparable, best friends until Ben inexplicably joined the army at 18 and was out of touch with Shelby for almost a decade. A family emergency brings Ben home just as the Collier women have decided its time to let Ben go and move on. But Ben’s wolf hadn’t come in before he left, now it has and recognizes his mate.

A lot happened in the time they were apart and Ben is working double time to ensure he’s doing all he can to make up for those nine years he lost with Shelby. But alls well that ends well as one door closes and another opens up for the couple. A good holiday outing but not one of the best of the series as the Collier Kids are now all mated up.

Book 5 in this series and what a fantastic story it is.
This is Shelby Collier's romance we have learned from previous books that her best childhood friend is Benjamin Shay.
Ben joined the military and completely ghosted her, even though she wrote to him everyday without fail write to him...But he never replied to a single letter.
The reason is Ben never replied to Shelby was because of a lie...Ben had been told that Shelby had mated with someone else and Ben was devestated.
But Shelby needed Ben she needed to talk to him,and it broke her fragile heart he ignored all her plea's...
Years pass and Ben is coming home, his father was in an accident and he had to go home to take care of his twin brothers.
It is inevitable that he would see Shelby for the first time in many years.
Shelby is a teacher now and Ben's brothers are in her class, when she sees Ben walk into her classroom her heart is in shock but her wolf cries MINE.!!...Bens wolf also recognises Shelby as his One True Mate.
But Shelby is keeping a tragic secret...that really broke my heart when I read it..the secret could ruin everything.
This book was an emotional one,I found it to be anyway..because they had wasted so many years all because of a lie..and Shelby had to deal with alot of things on her own while Ben was away.
The Ending to this story is glorious I loved it it made me very happy and I couldn't stop swooning. This audio is fabulous and Carly Robins and Joe Hempel are perfect.
I really loved this book and enjoyed it so much.
Another brilliant book within this series.

What a great story

Lots of ups and downs with the story but the ending was bitter sweet. So very happy that Shelby got her happy ever after. So glad that Ben got his head out of his rear! As a person who Jas had miscarriages and a stillbirth, I can't imagine how difficult it would be to suffer through that alone. I am fortunate that I have 3 live births to enjoy. Its so difficult wanting a baby and having problems, not being able to have one or carry one to term. so many woman suffer in silence when they never should. Grief is difficult enough but to grieve alone is horrible. Its really a good story.

This was a cute book, even though it was very simple & predictable.

Another book about one of the siblings waiting years for their true mate.

This time he was away in the army for 9 years. She was his husband best friend but another guy said he was her true mate, his wolf hadn’t come in yet so he just took his word for it and left for the army heartbroken. It took 9 years and his parents almost dying for him to come back then realize they were true mates.

Everything comes together in the end and the book also kinda leads into the background story of the human faction that knows about shifters doing experiments on them.

Good book

I really like this book. Ben and Shelby are so great together. I prefer yeh MC’s to meet earlier in the book and they did not reconnect until around 25% in. But even with that, this is still a great book. It was good to get to know Ben and his character so that by the time they reconnected, I was rooting for the two of them. Ben is such a strong and confident guy and I like that he was very skilled in the military. No angst. I could see me reading this book again and recommend this to everyone.

Oh I loved this one! These crazy wolves and not realizing when they have their true mates at their fingertips. Shelby and Ben were best friends their entire lives until it turned into more. One little misunderstanding and not communicating left them to live apart for the past nine years. Now he’s back and their bond is blasting them both. It’s fun to watch the turmoil and the ups and downs. Secrets and heartache from the past is revealed and a bright new future appears. Fantastic book!

Coming Home (Collier Park Book 5)

The love story of Shelby and Ben. Nine years ago Ben join the Army and Shelby has written him everyday but for five years she did not sent him the letters. Now he is home and they find out they are true mate. How all her secrets must be told. We he want to seal the bond? Great story.

XXX! ADULT CONTENT, READER DISCRETION ADVISED. Seriously b never lie. Gage told one lie and destroyed three families. Shelby and Lizzie have so much in common. Both stories are heart wrenching. Though to be fair, Ben storming off was all on him. Gage had nothing to do with that! HEA ending. Mates reunited and families restored. Sort of.

This story definitely has some very heavy scenarios, along with the heartrending and heartwarming elements. As seems to be the norm with the Colliers, there is drama, deception, intrigue, and action throughout! Amazing series!

Sweet and fun

This wasn't as great as the others, but still cute. It was the lead into the force books. The ending was short. It needed more and missed some rounding around the family.

It was ok for a quick read. I had Alexa read it from Kindle while I was doing laundry etc and so I spaced the listening/ reading out. The characters felt a little flat and under developed. It is a typical formulated shifter genre novel.

Love the whole series, would recommend reading Westin Pack first before Collier Pack, ARC Shifters and Westin Force, as it makes the characters fall into place and make sense with no spoilers

Instead of talking, Ben up and leaves. Reunited 9 years later, things work out in the end.

Some grammar mistakes in the kindle edition, but a HEA
