The Demon Academy #2

Ruthless as Hell

Rate this book
I can't escape this academy

My name is Lexi Cameron, and I really need some help in the form of two sexy demons, a wayward alpha's son and an angel who is worse than the fallen.
The only (tiny) problem?
They'd rather kill me than help me get out of here.

Welcome to Demon Academy where the new students might do more than just trying to kill you.
They might give your soul to hell and smile as they wave you goodbye.
Funny enough, I think mine belongs there anyway.
That is if Lucifer has anything to do with it...

Ugh, cliffhangers!!

Ruthless as Hell has a pretty interesting twist when it comes to the four horsemen. They haven't been created yet but so far two tattoo's have been created in this little harem! Besides that, I'm kind of happy that some relationships are developing now - still made that I have to wait on two more but hopefully that will happen in the next book!

Besides all of that, Lucifer is still an asshole. I can't believe how the trial went down the her parents. Sort of saw someone dying.. but now who it actually was. Then there's the whole mysterious cat problem for the two lucifer boys. So freaking happy that they figured it out and now almost everyone knows who she is. Don't know how Lexi is going to handle it but I'm sure she wont be mad.

Maybe a smidge grossed out because the cat was all like meow meow - he's hot! ..and they are all apart of her harem (well not lucifer). I'm also really intrigued as to why Lucifer thinks she is his mate.. as of right now, not really seeing it but now that he has her I don't know how she's going to get out of the mating ceremony.

Other than all of that, I really need the next book! No idea when it comes out but I needed it like yesterday!! Ugh, cliffhangers and waiting are pure torture!

I kinda had mixed feels about this book and this whole series for that matter... this was an unexpected storyline from the usual paranormal RH.

I mean this book was well written and there was a nice reading flow but I didn't like the way it made me feel or how some of the characters were written off.

I'm not sure if I'll finish the series since the last book is due to be released on Nov 30th. I guess it depends on my mood at the time it's released and at this moment I'm thinking it would be a big NO!.

Overall rating:
3.5* ~ I Guess it was Good.🤔

I almost gave up. I thought the second book is going to be better but nothing interesting actually happened.

Thanks to the side characters, I could bear finishing this book. Seriously, Eike and Sera is the only people I care about. They deserve so much more. I'm glad for the turning point at the end because I thought THAT that is the end but thank God, no.

To save my time and my sanity, I'm not going to finish this series.

I have been a G. Baily fan from the beginning. She is awesome and has shown her capability to flex her writing muscle. She has written many different works, and I have enjoyed them all. But I do believe that this one has become my favorite. We have all of the elements I am into right now. Demons, RH, Bully, and Academy.

In Ruthless As Hell, we pick up where Sinful leaves off. Lexi is supposed to be Lucifer's mate. She is having to deal with Lucifer himself, plus try to still help her parents, and sort things out with her guys. There is a strain on their relationships, which had me screaming no at my kindle. There are deals being made, good or bad. Sacrifices being made, and is trust really being put in the right place? Find out all of this and more in this installment.

That ending was crazy, and leaving me needing Savage As Hell, like now! Way to go Gem, you did a fantastic job!!

The storyline isn't very fluid in this one and there's a part where all 4 of the guys are comforting Lexi after her parents' trial and then in the next chapters, 2 of the guys act like they've never met and one of the others acts surprised about the other guy's relationship with Lexi. Hopefully the last one is better bc this plot has a lot of potential, it was just poorly portrayed in this book.

Stuck in Demon Academy with students who'd rather kill her than say hello, Lexi Cameron must navigate dangerous alliances with two demons, an alpha's son and an angel who's anything but saintly. Add Lucifer's meddling to the mix, and surviving this school feels impossible.

With sharp tension, sizzling romance, and nonstop twists, Ruthless As Hell is a must-read for fans of dark, steamy paranormal drama.

Survival never looked so sinful.

I am disappointed. Really.
The MC does not get better, there is no character development. The MC changes her mind so fast and the guys are little cowards who don’t know what they want. They gave up on her SO FAST it was actually pathetic and a bit sad. And after they suddenly decide they want her, she jumps right back in their arms.
I think the author tried to make the MC strong but it didn’t turn out that way.
Also the transition from one way a character is feeling to another is not smooth at all. For example when wten two guys were in a fight because of feeling extremely jealous, suddenly after a few words are said to them they are sharing a drink and becoming friends.
I liked the idea of this story but the writing and character development could be better.

Well...all hell is breaking loose. Lucifer has surfaced and he thinks Lexi is his mate! She's horrified and terrified. She already has mates although they havent solidified anything but still! He's as ruthless as she thinks. He's not afraid to hurt her and he has plans for his Queen. She's so confused and of course her twin mates wont defy their Father and step back and let him have her. Man is she pissed! What the AF?! It broke her heart. Then the Alpha wolf who she thought had feelings for her lied and used her to protect his sister Sera. Lexi has quite the s*** sandwich. Her parents trial is coming fast and for now she has to play ball. Not to mention when she mates with one of her guys there's a freaking horse tattoo on her wrist...what the heck is that about?! Will she survive or is she doomed to hell and her parents...ugh I cant give it away y'all but damn seriously? These demons are brutal!

This brand of Lucifer isn't like ones you read in other books. He's not misunderstood and sweet. He's the opposite. He's truly what he is supposed to be but worse. So, I'll just leave it at that. Her men have abandoned her...well for a short time because Nick cant stay away. Claus on the other hand is I dont even know. Morgan her teacher is softer with her and they have definite feelings there but there are complications. Can Lexi forgive Javier for using her...but did he or did he give her an out? I hate spoiling things for other readers so I cant say more...not really...just read it. Fast read.

Timeline is inconsistent and the sexy scenes are so bad

So overall this book is really good, it has a great theme/story being told. If only the writer was better in some departments in writing would this be the perfect book.

First of all the timeline of the story in some parts make no sense at all!! *may contain bit of spoilers* One day they are all lying in bed and some of the guys are meeting each other for presumably the first time. Then like two chapters later they are meeting for the first time again and I’m like what is happening?!

Second of all the “sexy” scenes were horrible (ok they weren’t necessarily horrible but they were pretty bad, kind of just a disappointment really - a disappointment is the best way to describe it) and so quick I didn’t even know what had just happened. *may contain bit of spoilers* Especially when she was having her first time, that at least should have been longer and more sentimental. The way the author wrote it made it seem like it was nothing and it was over so quickly I was like, what just happened? Like seriously. This has to be the worst sexy scene writing I’ve ever read.

BUT.... this book has a really great plot and keeps the reader wanting more throughout the book. It really is a great story, I just wish it sometimes made more sense and had a little more attention put into some parts of the story.

Read this one hoping things would get better, and they only got worse. The MC is supposed to be strong willed and powerful but she constantly does things she says she won't. When her heart is broken and it's shoved in her face she swears she'll never chase the guy because she deserves better but then literally chases him until he gives in. She forgives all of them way too easily tbh. This entire story is like a fast forwarded version as there is very literally description of events that take place over weeks, which also translates to zero character development and relationships that happen out of nowhere. She went from being bonded to none to all four agreeing that they were a all five a Thing but only one of those conversations took place on the page. This story needs so much more detail and it's just not given.

The absolute worst thing of all, though, is that her four guys finally all met each other and spend time in a room with her talking for what seems like hours, and then three chapters later they meet one of them again and say things like, "Who's Javier?" and "You must be the wolf" as if none of them have ever met. How does something like that get missed?

This book didn’t WOW me but it was entertaining nonetheless.

I liked that we had to wait until book 2 to get a sexy scene but the ones we got felt super rushed and kind of anti-climactic.
I also wish the books themselves were a bit longer and more detailed, things are feeling glossed over when I want more of an explanation or elaboration.

I do like Lexi though, I find her character strong and witty.
Out of all the guys, I think Morgan is my fave; likely because he was her teacher and it just feels so taboo.
He’s also scary, dark, agressive, and possessive.
Not to mention, he FELL for her and is officially a fallen angel.
*swoon*
Sign me the fuck up

Anyways, this series is still keeping me interested and I’m eager to see how Lexi reacts to Am being Lilith, now that the guys know….
Oh.
Well, I guess she’s in hell now and soon to be officially mated to the devil, so there’s that to contend with too.

I’m excited to close this series out, it’s not going to be a favourite but i’m still absolutely enjoying it!

~3 stars~

I like how we meet new characters here. Exie or smt with sera I really ship them hopefully they’ll be fated mates yk yk, if anything I called it lol. But yea I like how we are introduced to a new place as well like it was getting kinda old just in the castle so I like how they went to the wolf territory. Also after book 1 I thought Lucifer wasn’t going to be so bad but in this book the author really makes us not like him. Like yes he’s handsome those white locks and green eyes that turn dark and dead are not as appealing when he does the things he does. Big no no. Anyways, I really like Exie but the fact that slept with many female wolfs before sera just gives me the ick. Just like how Lucifer lies and sleeps with C & his twin brothers mother, and the wolf Alfas mother. Like eww bro and you still want the Fml?!!! Like bro LEAVE HER ALONE!!! Also AGHHH NOT THE ANGEL BECOMING A FALLEN ANGEL NOOOO HE WAS MY FAVORITEEEE LIKE UGHHHHH.

5 stars for Ruthless as Hell by G. Bailey. This is book two in the Demon Academy Series. “It’s normal for a bird to be scared of falling off the nest. Only when you fall do you learn to fly.” Lexi and her men are developing relationships. I enjoy how Lexi doesn’t just accept her men, even though she loves /likes them she still makes them work for it. Lucifer thinks or says Lexi is his mate, by why . The trial for her parents is something I was not expecting. It took me by complete surprise that it went the way it did. Even though Lexi is still dealing with Lucifer she is also dealing with her connection with Nick, Clause, Morgan and Javier. This book ends in a big cliffhanger and it had me on edge. “Death is a sweet release from the pain of life. Only in death is your soul truly free.” I couldn’t wait , I am starting book three now.

With the new announcement made by Lucifer, Lexi doesn't know what to do. She knows she's not his mate, but she has to go along if she doesn't want him to kill her parents. Her four guys also figure out their feelings and are willing to fight for her,, but not even them can save her from her decision when she has to save the life of her best friend. The book ends with a cliffhanger.

Lexi needs to become even stronger due to what awaits her. She loses her family, and my heart cried for her, but I love how her guys finally realise that they cannot live without her and they are willing to lose everything to stand by her. I love how they encourage and put her first.

I'm really curious to see if she will win and defeat Lucifer.

This is no means a normal academy by any means it's a demon academy with wolf shifters, angels, demons & ya Lucifer! 😈
I'm enjoying G.Baileys writing & storyline.👍 There's lots of twists & turns to this story as well as bullying & a reverse harem. 😱

The first book had me hooked in to read the next of the series. This fell so flat. There were so many things that were forgotten...did she forget her own birthday? It was supposed to be 3 days prior to the trial and that could have really been a great setup for some brooding time or some crazy thing Lucifer puts together. But.....nothin'.

The last books make or break a series. I don't even want to continue to the third, and final, book after reading this one. Too many inconsistencies and plot holes. My 3 stars is because the plot had real promise and was great enough to hook me in. But then, this book fell very far from the tree of knowledge.

What an epic roller coaster of a book this was. Lexi is dealing with the revelation of Lucifer and still trying to determine what her feelings are for the men in her life, all while worrying about her parents trial. The trial sent me into sheer shock and tears, but that wasn't the most emotional part of the book. There's a moment when Lexi makes a decision that she can't take back, but also can't regret, and Morgan follows suit with his own decision. It's a cliffhanger to be sure, so make sure you have book 3 ready to go!

Readers of paranormal romance, reverse harem, and action packed adventure are sure to love this series.

4.5 really enjoyed this book. She has been mate marked by the wolf and has silver horses on her arm for the others. Can’t remember if she has one for each? ( Morgan, claus, nick). Lucifer thinks she’s his mate because when she holds the stone she wears the crown of the queen of hell.

Vikor is no longer going to be alpha. His buddy is.

At the end sera dies as they are trying to escape and she makes a deal with him. He brings sera back to life if she goes to hell to marry him.

Also her cat is Lilith.

Ending: When they go to hell Morgan follows and loses his wings.

Second book is better!

The second book to this series seems much more natural. The dialogue flows a lot better, and the characters seem to have more depth than the first book gave them. It still seems a bit rushed, and a little to short, but all in all still a good read. I love the plot here, and how the characters have developed along the way. The second book also has a bit more sexual action, and although it's still less steamy and more PG than I usually prefer, the plotline is enough to make me want to read the next book.

I feel my review from book one holds up. "I keep rating her 3.5 but I swear I love this author. I just can be stingy with the 4 and 5 star reviews.

This concept was unique and had enough going on that I couldn't put the book down. My only critique again is I love the male characters this author writes but we never really get to see their personalities for more than a short period of time. I love dual POV, but not when only a few chapters are dual. Probably will forever be the hill I die on with this author."

2,5 ⭐

I just... that ending. This was a slow burning book full of information and connections between Lexi and her mates Nick, Claus, Morgan and Javier. And I appreciated it because that connection was needed. But that ending came out of nowhere and my heart is hurting. So much happened within a few chapters and my mind is reeling.

I'm so invested in this series and I'm so curious how things are going to work out.

This is definitely turning out to be an outstanding series!

All very angsty

Not bad. Enjoying the main plot of Lexi trying to find out who she is and her role in the prophecy, but all the characters are so moody. Honestly, it’s draining.

On the plot front, the story is truckin’ along at a reasonable pace. It has some twists and dramatic moments, and once again the end has a cliffhanger that just drives the knife into Lexi just a little bit further. Watching her get payback will, hopefully, make it all worthwhile.

Angels, demons and wolves…oh my.

What a mess Alexandria is in. Four mates and Lucifer who wants to claim her as his. There’s so much she doesn’t know or understand. And her parents trial is always in the back of her mind. That’s a lot of stress for a 17 year old, even if she she is a demon…who is Angel-blessed and is breaking all the “rules”.
And the ending of this book!!! What a cliffhanger!😩

I'm just not into this book or series. The plot seems way too laid out and I don't understand the need for RH when one H is clearly a favourite and the others are portrayed as an interest at best while letting down the mc when it counts. I think this series could've done without the RH or the other Hs need better development because I frankly couldn't care less if they are involved.

(Keeping this spoiler free). Not as good as the first book to be honest. I still didn’t care about any of the relationships they all seemed kinda basic and low key boring, but whatever. I don’t know why this wasn’t just added to book one instead of making this book two. The plot was kinda annoying nearing the end, but I still liked the world-building and a few characters were pretty chill.
