The hero of the novel Shi Xiong gets tired of the life with his wife and has a crush on his apprentice Fangzi. He imagines her as his lover in real life, so Fangzis hair fragrance, smiles and expressions through the eyes fill his life all day long, making him sexually impulsed. But restricted by traditional thoughts, he has to press his eroticism. He can not occupy her completely when Fangzi meets her boyfriend of about the same age with her, so he asks her father to take her away in order to separate the two of them.
