A Book Designed for Everyone
Cecilia Tement takes us on a journey of abuse through her own experiences. She shares what most children of abuse believe ... that somehow it is their fault, somehow they could extend themselves to stop what is happening, and carrying guilt for years into their adulthood.
Kudos to Ms. Tement for writing the story for children to absorb, for parents to take note, and teachers and caregivers to see they play a role in helping each child. She goes one step further and provides a bonus at the end of her book, always helping the reader.
Excellent read. I highly recommend this book.

A brilliant and poignant book that every educator and social worker should have in their library. A wonderful resource for children and families dealing with abuse. I highly recommend this book for young children currently dealing with abuse within their own family. It'll give them the vocabulary needed to help them express themselves.

This book is a treasure for anyone wanting to explain or discuss childhood abuse or acknowledge the pain of abuse from their childhood. Vulnerable yet sweet, Cecilia shares her childhood wishes through the voice of a child in an abusive home.

The adorable pictures were drawn by her mom, and messages of hope and redemption from the author and her dad are a sweet hope that anything is possible.

While the journey of the child telling the story was painful, the lessons are powerful and will definitely open up your heart. It's a powerful gift for a child exposed to such trauma.
