I picked this book up at my neighborhood library branch when I was researching to write a sci-fi book with a central plant character. This was EXACTLY the type of information I was looking for. Plants are so cool. This book includes many scientific details regarding how plants adapt to hostile environments. It's rather brief but very clear. I read Capon's Botany for Gardeners right after this, and it was terrific, too.
