Lar and Aline's escape won't matter if they can't get off the planet. In the one pod they already have, they find an archaic data recorder with a first-hand account of the men and women lost to history during the humans' generational trek to Saeana. If Aline can manage to unlock it's secrets, she will reveal a truth neither the Mwalgi nor human government wants to admit, yet their greatest threat is a man with a vendetta who won't give up until he finds them and exacts revenge.
