Incubus #6

Revived

Rate this book

Lust is existence for an incubus.

Hitching a lift on a ‘love bus,’ the last thing Pixie expects to come across is a young anorexic incubus who doesn’t recognize a fae. For a being who feeds on secrets, Ezra offers the ultimate banquet. His mere existence is an impossibility and his bristling antisocial attitude a puzzle she’d risk anything to solve.

Striking out with a human is a new experience. Even after being glamoured, the pink-haired girl wants to reveal his past rather than his body. After sixty years of barely saying a word outside of hunting, finding someone he can’t feed on is a revelation.

In exchange for her company, Pixie wants information he can never give, so Ezra agrees to find other secrets to feed and bind his new fae friend to him. After all, how can going undercover at a New York bathhouse, a male only all-you-eat buffet for an incubus be a problem?

It is when the owner is a mobster with a humiliation kink and dominants are ending up dead.

Warning: Contains angst, naughty m/m scenes including figging, sex awards, a lying incubus, a scheming fae, and a platonic romance.

Emma is the #1 Amazon Bestselling Author of m/m series such as Paint, Incubus, and Lies.

Known as the Queen of MM angst her books include Sci-fi, paranormal, and contemporary romance and always puts her characters through hell before giving them a HEA. She blames her rebellious muse (who looks like Chris from the Paint Series) for the erotic aspects tickling the angst, and the humor cuddling up with the erotic.

When not writing or reading she herds Birman cats and sons; Both groups argue that the other is too large.

Much loved incubus, Ezra, returns in a prequel that old and new fans alike will enjoy

Hunted incubus, Ezra, is presumed dead when he’s rescued after years of imprisonment. He can choose to live or perish, but years of abuse leave that decision hanging on a knife-edge. Can pink-haired fae, Pixie, who is half his height and quarter of his weight wheedle out the secret of this unregistered supernatural? Her desire for information, and a problem with a hunter of her own, cause this unlikely duo to pair up. Can they help each other live?

New readers of Emma Jaye’s books can start with this fabulous prequel if they choose. It will give them enough intrigue to want to find out what happens next chronologically and provide a good story to boot. Jaye’s fans, particularly of this series, will love to hear more of their favorite supernaturals and from a simple throwaway conversation hope that the fate of a much-loved bear shifter might be revealed in a further instalment.

As always with this series, expect plenty of m/m action, including some more unusual practices.

I’ve loved every book in the Incubus series by Emma Jaye and hope that, when time allows, she will add to it.

It was a great experience to get to know a little more of Ezra and Pixie story. I loved them both, the way they interact with each other is just so much fun. I loved that there was a little mystery to solve.

The writing, as with the previous instalments, is really well done. I loved the plot, which was unexpected and entertaining. It had a high heat level, as expected with Ezra. It had a nice steady pace, with some very exciting moments that made it impossible to put it down.

The only thing I didn’t liked, and that might be an issue only for me and no one else, was that I felt the angst was lower than I expected. Other than that it was great. What I liked the most about it was Ezra, who is such a beautiful character. As recommend it as all the pervious instalments.

A nice wrap-up

While this doesn’t seem to really fit at the end of the series, it is a nice extra bit of information that wraps up some unanswered questions from the series. This book also tops the rest in the number and description of sexy times. It’s a bit more graphic than the others. But I found it fit quite nicely with the rest in writing style, cohesion, and strength of the storyline. I look forward to reading what is deemed the 7th book in the series although I’m not sure this book is in the correct place. This review is an honest and unbiased reflection of my thoughts after reading an advanced readers copy of the book.

Revived is about the time after the vampires, and how he met Pixie. It was great to read from her POV. How a fae's mind work.

"He wasn't sure if he believed her, but the thought of having someone around that he couldn't influence, who wanted something other than s** from him, a potential platonic friend, sent a surge of yearning through him."

The bathhouse and the figging was fun to read.

"Ezra drew in a shuddering breath, wondering for the first time if he could handle all this food."

Ezra & Pixie!!!

We start Incubus Revived where we left off with Ezra being rescued from Fabian’s prison. Best of all we finally get to hear how Ezra and Pixie meet!!! I’ve been wanting this story since I first read about Pixie. Ha, Pixie and her stories. I love her fierce, take-no-bull attitude, but my heart still hurts for Ezra. I’m so glad she and Ezra have each other.

I enjoyed the boathouse desk scene, funny. I like playful Ezra but he does tend to get himself in lots of trouble when he opens his mouth. When you add in pissed off people, well, let’s just say bad things can happen. I appreciated how this book answered some of my questions from the series as well. Pixie raises a very good question in the last chapter. I wonder about the answer. I thought the ending to this amazing series was brilliant; leaving us with the epitome of Ezra.

Incubus Revived is a prequel to the Incubus saga. Ezra’s past and his first encounters with pink-haired Pixie are finally being revealed, and OMG, isn’t it hilarious?
Going from a suicidal mule owner to a champ of the very shady bathhouse, Ezra is fireworking smart-ass remarks, funny situations, and a lot of fluids!
The book is not safe for work, and have to come with a warning: no eating and drinking while reading.

Loved this - though it is part of the boxed set and I got it separately without realizing. Regardless - I hope everyone who loves MM PNR will pick up this set since I know they won't be able to put it down.
