Dr. Feelgood is an alpha AF possessive male with a deep, growly voice, a giant stethoscope and a bedside manner that makes me want more.
Summer’s the sweetest thing to ever step into my exam room. The curvy girl was hit by a car, but at the hands of a skilled physical therapist, even the most unlikely paraplegics can learn to walk again.
After all, my nickname’s Dr. Feelgood for a reason.
They say that I’ve got talented hands …
… and a talented something else too.
If a woman isn’t shaking and trembling by the end of our physical therapy sessions, then I’m the one who’s come up short. I want to push her to her limits and make her feel like a curvy, desirable goddess.
It’s a good thing I give a hundred and ten percent to my job every single day because when Summer Ames is wheeled in for the first time, there’s only one thing on my mind:
Walk to me, sweetheart.
Run to me, baby.
I can make you feel so good …
… that you never stop coming to me again and again.
This alpha AF, possessive male is worth every steamy session in the physical therapy room because he works miracles on the patients in his care. Strap yourself in for a mouthwatering ride and let yourself enjoy the exam. Reader beware: you might want to keep your own stethoscope on hand while reading this sizzling tale.
As always, my books end with an HEA, with no cheating and no cliffhangers.
I think it’s going to get a 2.5-3 from me. I almost DNFed this so many times.
The prologue starts with the scene of the two getting together for the first time… it would seem. I hate when they do that. It immediately bores me because it takes away a lot of the mystery.
Well, after slogging through the first half of the book (at least! And they don’t even meet until 30% in ugh) you realize that scene makes zero sense. It’s not the first time they were together, and it’s definitely written to give you that impression. Even if you through that out and just said okay, maybe this is just a random time they were together, that also doesn’t work because the book makes it very clear they only have smex on that location once, and that wasn’t it. So WTF was the prologue?!?!
The thing was a mess of mistakes, timeline errors, and stuff that just made no sense. The thing would have been a definite 1-2 stars for me but I liked how dirty smex scenes were, even though they would be hot, fall into awkwardly written, then be hot again. I mean not many books I’ve come across talk about fisting @n@l fisting.
So that’s the book. Would I recommend it? Probably not. Maybe to skim for the smex scenes? Ugh. I’m not sure those are even worth it.
This was an enjoyable read. Summer was on her way to a night out with the girls when she gets into a nasty accident. She is left without feeling in her legs. In comes her hot physical therapist Ridge. They fall for each other pretty quickly. However, it is against hospital policy for employers to date their patients. So of course that becomes a problem but thankfully in the end they still get their HEA.
I went back and forth between 3 and 4 stars for this. I ended up on 3.5 rounded to 4. The blurb leads you to believe that Dr. Ridge Maddox is a player who has a way with the ladies. Yes, he's hot but he's not the man-whore that I thought he might be. He's very professional and has a casual girlfriend who is an awful person.
Summer Ames is his newest patient, sent to him after she is involved in a car crash that leaves her paralyzed from the waist down. One look at her and he is convinced she's the woman of his dreams. They're attracted to each other but are hesitant to act on it due to hospital policy. No cheating involved as Ridge dumps the toxic girlfriend before anything happens with Summer.
Author SE Law offers no biographical data except that naughty romantic novels about bad boys are her obsession. She has published eight novels to date and seems to be catching on to the Chick Lit audience. Her novels are rather short, easy to read, and naughty and full of erotica – the recipe for immediate success.
The characters are introduced in a Prologue that presents their encounter bloom. Ridge Maddox is offered first: ’She’s so gorgeous. That’s the only thought in my mind as I watch the beautiful brunette being wheeled into the physical therapy room. I should be seeing a paraplegic. Someone with unmoving legs and a broken spirit, but instead, all I see full lips, a lively smile, and curves that go on for days. What is wrong with me? I’m a professional for crying out loud, and what professional does this/ What doctor lusts after a patient who’s broken and damaged form a hellacious car accident that nearly killed everyone involved? Me, that’s who.’
Curtain up and the naughty romance begins, as outlined by the author’s synopsis: ’ Dr. A fun fast read with plenty of steam, SE Law polishes off another solid Chick Lit hit!
This was a good book and you'll love it if you like steamy romances with lots of twists and drama. the chemistry was explosive and the characters enchanting. A whole different approach to physical therapy. Well-written with a HEA and no cliffhanger. I read an arc and voluntarily chose to review.
Ooohhhh. Right from chapter 1 there's this aura of fire hot chemistry between Ridge and Summer. I thought that was all this book would be about. But I'm so glad to have been proven wrong. I loved getting to know individually both summer and Ridge separately in there own chapters. How both of them being in the same town, wanting the same kinda person yet how it all works in a bittersweet way to get them together. I absolutely loved summer. Her nickname is totally apt for a girl who has not only fought her doubts and insecurities but also helps other women battle theirs by helping them feel confident in the clothes they feel comfortable in no matter what package they come in. She is bright and always looks at life in a positive way. Ridge loves his job of a physical therapist ND loves how he helps his patients to get back to normal life after dealing with their injuries. I loved them both oh so much. I hated for what happens with summer but oh my.... I loved how they finally give into their temptation and surrender to the sizzling chemistry between them. Their moments together were not only on fire but sweet and oh so thoughtful as they are to each other. I loved their friends too. Especially summer's friends are so great in how they help her in her utmost time of need like a family. Loved loved Ridge and Summer. 🔥🔥😍😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️
I didn’t find this book to be exactly like some of the other SE Law books I have read. It wasn’t mostly steamy scenes. This book had a great storyline and characters. Summer’s reactions to her situation seemed spot on. That she even came out of her fog of depression at being left a paraplegic after her car accident was impressive. The sight of Ridge must have been spectacular. For his part, Ridge came across as a genuinely nice guy. Both Ridge and Summer seemed to have had truly bad taste in significant others in the past as Ridge’s ex-girlfriend was a total “B” and Summer’s ex was a total loser. How two such intelligent people could have gotten involved with two complete crazy lunatics like they did is mind boggling to me.
This was a great beginning to a new series. I’m excited to see what comes next.
Holy hotness this book was absolutely fantastic and I love Summer and Ridge together. Summer was in a bad wreck and possibly paralyzed but when no one could get through to her its Her physical therapist who gets her to believe in her self but when the chemistry starts between them can ridge stay away and not cross the lines between patient and dr? Absolutely 💯 loved this book
He has a bedside manner that has the girls calling him Dr. Feelgood! He and Summer have a lot in common they both just broke up with their significant others who were terrible people. And now they are both free. Their relationship is a little unorthodox but he was drawn to Summer. Will this forbidden relationship have a happily ever after? I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.
I only made it up to chapter 19. Some instances are ridiculous, like when it was mentioned that she's steamy down there or that she was so wet that her undies makes a splat on the floor. Plus I feel like that the writer keeps forgetting that her legs are paralyzed 🤣. I agree with some of the comments, this was more of a smutty book than rom com.
Short steamy run read! Summer is sassy confident n fun! Ridge is so sweet on her I loved it. They are kinky AF and their antics will both melt your ❤ and set your panties on 🔥🔥🔥!!!
Another good book. This one was longer but so worth it. Ridge is so yummy a little into some things I wouldn't go for but like I always say to each their own. Summer is one very lucky girl. Thank you for another wonderful story.
It would be a negative star one of it could . The reviews and the overview of this book said it was a romance book but in reality it's a smut one. If you're looking for down and dirty this is for you.
The story is good at times sex is steamy ... I can’t put my finger on it but something was missing. I think it would have been a good gesture to have the list at the end.
Loved seeing the development and recovery of the female protagonist and the strength she showed to get better. Also love the realism of the book because this may happen occasionally.
ONE DIZZYING DO RIGHT TREAT!!! Double dipped in chocolate! Nuh, I'm messing with you, there's no chocolate. Law doesn't miss a beat revving things up a notch on the richter scales. The ground is definitely shaking. A raging tempest of obscured circumstances and inadvertent happenstance keep you flipping page after page. All the chaos and mayhem churns this baby so tightly, tossing in a bit of spice to add flavor to the mix. With a keen intellect and vivid imagination for detail she brings each page bursting to life flawlessly. Hurtling the trials and tribulations, ups and downs, propel this baby to life skillfully. A spinning eddy of unique mishaps and a horde of surprising events thrust your emotions bursting forward in this delectable storyline and intriguing plot. The main female character let's loose all that sass, fire and intrigue that blows this baby wide open with such sincerity and passion it just leaves you in awe. The characters and scenes are colorfully detailed to give you a full understanding and the realism that flows smoothly from each scenario without a hitch. Remarkable job Law, thanks for sharing.
Summer is a stylist at a clothing store and on her way to a girls night she is hit by a big truck. She ends up being paraplegic and struggles with how she'll live with it now that she's awake. Ridge is a Physical Therapist at the hospital and Summer is taken to him because her condition isn't permanent its psychosomatic and since there's isn't a cause for it they still need to keep her muscle fit. Summer has just about given up on everything until she sees Ridge its like he brings something inside her back to life. Ridge knows its against everything he stands for with the hospital and morals but he is attracted to Summer. As they continue working towards her walking again each progress has them celebrating until one has them go too far but neither of them cares because they both want each other that much. What will happen if others learn about them? Will Ridge end things between them?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
Summer's life is great she loves her job & has the best ever friends, it's on her way to a night out with them when she is involved in a serious car crash that changes her life forever. When she wakes up in hospital her friends have to give her the sad news that she is now a paraplegic. She does not want anybodys pity or help so is not happy when she is sent for physical therapy but when she gets there she feels an immediate attraction to Dr Ridge Maddox who is super hot & the feeling is mutual. Their attraction to each goes & although they cannot be together because she is his patient they cannot stop themselves. Their relationship continues to grow after her discharge from hospital but Ridge continues treating her as an outpatient & they become friends with each others friends. They spend nearly all their time together & she is even getting feeling back in her legs, life is getting better until an ex girlfriend of Ridges finds out and reports him. This is an amazing love story with lots of steamy action that has you hooked I couldn't go to bed until I found out if they got a happy ending. Definitely recommend reading this.
This was a DNF for me. From a medical angle, it rang horridly false for me, and kept ripping me out of the story.
First of all, after years of working with PTs, including ones with DPT degrees, I’ve yet to meet one who uses the title doctor. And only one PT on staff for a hospital inpatient and outpatient program?
Second, the transport person would not be a nurse. She also wouldn’t be carting the h around during outpatient treatment - if you have an appt, you get yourself around (or bring a friend to push your wheelchair). She might have been part of the plot for the H/h to get caught (after I gave up), but she didn’t fit the setting.
Add in moments between the h/H that were just over the top, and I found myself just rolling my eyes and not caring what happened next. It started off like a rocket with some crazy steam, but then the flashback/backstory took a quarter+ of the book for them to even meet. I kept trying, hoping maybe the story would settle into itself, but it just kept spiraling. I gave up just shy of halfway. I might give the author another shot, but probably not for a while.
Really Steamy Doctor/Patient romance with inevitable “spoiler” attempt BAM! This book jumps right into the steamy in the prologue. Now the reader will want to know how they got there… Summer Ames works as a stylist for Lalique Department Store where she feels good helping so many women find their true identities through the right clothes for them. One day she hopes to open her own business doing this. As she’s on her way for a girls’ night out, she is injured badly in an accident which leaves her as a paraplegic. She’s lost all her “summer hopefulness” until she meets her physical therapist, Dr. Ridge Maddox. The moment he sees Summer, and all her curvaceous self, he falls hard. Can’t happen b/c she’s his patient. Right?! Oh. My. Word. There are so many of those moments in this book. While reading you know that there is a shoe left to fall, which inevitably does near the end. But all ends happily for this great couple. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book and recommend it to readers who enjoy lots of steam in their story with poignant, melancholic and happy moments.
Ms. Stephanie, aka Summer, Ames... She is a wonderfully written character with a sunny disposition and knows what she wants out of life. Dr. Ridge Maddox, a Physical Therapist who enjoys his job thoroughly. This is something that both main characters definitely have in common, they are good right to their soul but when a horrific & life changing event occurs, Summer is left reeling. Can this physical therapist make any headway with the newest patient, a brand new paraplegic woman, now without her sunny disposition? The absolute best thing to experience while reading this book was the way it moved me emotionally. How many Authors are capable of that? This is a must read book.
I voluntarily requested an advanced reader's copy of Dr. Feelgood in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion. Honestly, it was a treat to read this release and I recommend reading this book as well as anything written by SE Law.
This was an endearing story to me because it showed a different side of sexy. It was a scorching hot read! It was original material. Summer wasn't perfect and she still found love. This was a great story to me. Summer was in a horrific car accident. A mac truck hit her and left her a paraplegic. She had a broken spirit until she met Ridge, her physical therapist. He was sex on a stick, abs of steel, the whole package. And his hands...what he could do with those hands. Ridge made Summer want to push herself to higher limits. Then they formed a relationship. He helped her fully recover. If you are looking to read a feel good story that is so hot it will burn your kindle, this is the book for you.
