Married By Mistake!

Rate this book
The wedding pretense…

When Lucy Crosby's ex-fiancé came to town, parading his new bride-to-be for all the world to see, she longed to wipe the smug smile off his face once and for all. But presenting the disturbingly attractive Jack Gallagher as her own new fiancé was definitely not what Lucy had in mind. Nor was undergoing a fake wedding ceremony—another of stepbrother Jack's bright ideas.

His performance as her doting husband was certainly inspired—he even had Lucy half convinced he was in love with her. But had the whole pretense been a mistake? Because now that they were on their fake honeymoon, Lucy found herself suddenly wishing it was all for real!

The heroine was the biggest and most stupid idiot to ever be created into a novel. She was just weird and desperate. It was all quite pathetic. I had a hard time digesting this novel and I pretty much hated it!

There was just something that stopped the book from being good, it was the heroine who could be all weird and cowardly I guess, though I am not sure. Her fiancee she waited for, for 2 years sent her a letter breaking it off and is now egoistic enough to get his new fiancee to meet the heroine. She wants to run away but her sisters won't let her and Jack, who was her stepbrother for a brief time offers to step in. From the start we are made aware of the fact that Jack is in love with her and never thought he would have a chance but now he does.

They even get married for real though the heroine thinks they are getting married by a fake actor. They almost mess it up before the heroine finds out that they are married for real and makes him confess his love and then her's.

The love felt came out of the blue for the heroine and was more a case of telling than showing.

Adorei!!

Married By Mistake By Renee Roszel
Enchanted Brides Book 2
The Enchanted Brides Myth:
The stately D’Amour mansion stands majestically in the countryside, its absentee owner rumored to be living in Europe. Closed for years, this mansion has a charming myth surrounding it. Legend says that the mansion is enchanted and that “an unmarried woman who sleeps within its walls on her birthday, when the moon is full, will marry the first man she sees in the morning."
Lucy Crosby wakes up groggy and confused until she remembers what happened. Her sister Lucy had went into labor while walking and they ended up in the old mansion. Suddenly her step-brother Jack is there to get them to the hospital and save the day. It's her birthday, but it wasn't very happy. She had been waiting and faithful for two years while her fiancé traveled Europe living his acting dream. And obviously wooing another woman who he was now engaged to. On top of everything else, he's decided he needs to bring the new woman to meet the old one so they can all be friends!

Jack Gallagher has been in love with Lucy for years. The three years his mother was married to their father was the best time in his life. Now that he's made something of himself he hopes to win Lucy. Perfect timing has a plan falling into place, he offered to pretend to be her fiancé while the jerk is visiting. And hopefully she will realize they belong together.

The second book in this series was just as enjoyable as the first, page turners that I didn't want to put down. The author brings Damien and Helen back along with Elissa and the folks at her inn. Characters that come to life with love, humor and loyalty. If you enjoy series you'll want to start with book one, To Marry A Stranger. The final book in the story is Elissa's tale and the mysterious owner of the mansion makes his appearance in Her Mistletoe Husband.

Comedy of errors.

Stepsiblings. Guy has always been in love with her but didn’t show it. To rescue her from ex-fiance, H/h pretend to have a fake engagement which escalates into a fake wedding and ends in a pretend honeymoon. She thought it was a fake wedding but guy had failed to prevent his well-meaning friend, who's also a real minister, from officiating the wedding.

Liked it when she got irritated when her husband would get nightly phone calls from a pretend hussy named Desiree during their honeymoon.

Light-hearted; snappy dialogue and unexpected twists make the book a fun read.

Part 2 of 3 book series: To Marry a Stranger, Married by Mistake and Her Mistletoe Husband.

Story arch: legend says that whoever sleeps inside the D’Amour mansion on her birthday eve will marry the first man she sees.

Lucy wanted to stop people looking at her in pity especially after the arrival of her ex-finance with his new bride-to-be, so she asks her friend, Jack, to help her with a fake engagement. But, he he surprises her when he goes beyond that and comes up with a fake wedding ceremony! He even lived with her and moved his things to their house as a real husband!!

Enjoyable pass-time read.

Don't know why, but this felt juvenile. The h came of as very immature, even tho she was 26. I kept thinking I was still reading the first book in the series. But that h was a 21 year old virgin so the naiveté didn't feel misplaced in that story. There was no angst and the characters felt flat. I'm still going to read tha last book in the series tho.
