This is a handbook for new owners of Jack Russell puppies by dog expert Carry Aylward. It is one of a series of books by the same author covering the care, training and idiosyncrasies of various dog breeds. In preparation for the introduction of a new dog into my home, I’ve read several dog care books, and this one, with its clear and simple language about the basics, is a delightful complement to the denser, more complex guides. I would recommend it to anyone considering adopting a Jack Russell. If you’re getting a different breed, check the series to see if yours is there. It’s definitely worth your time, particularly if you’re a newcomer to dog ownership or you need a refresher in the care of young dogs.
