While the author attempted to make this book accessible for lay people just entering Christian apologetics for the first time, I’m afraid the arguments and evidence presented in this book have little basis in reality beyond appealing to scripture itself. Critical thinking and reasoning are assumed for the reader, without actually making these concepts and skills simple for newcomers as the title suggests, and practically every argument presented is presented fallaciously, leaving the reader woefully unprepared for objections. Most of these pages are filled with vacuous repetition and pointless illustrations that look like they were compiled using Microsoft Word, leading me to believe that the page-count was more important to the publisher than sound reasoning and substantive arguments for the truth of Christianity. If you’re looking for an entry-level introduction to Christian apologetics I’d recommend looking elsewhere, perhaps at “On Guard” by William Lane Craig, “Tactics” by Greg Koukl, or “The Case for Christ” by Lee Strobel.
