Fueled by dark chocolate and even darker coffee, USA Today bestselling author Jane Henry writes what she loves to read – character-driven, unputdownable romance featuring dominant alpha males and the powerful heroines who bring them to their knees. She’s believed in the power of love and romance since Belle won over the beast, and finally decided to write love stories of her own.

Just in time for St. Patrick's Day (err, a day or so later), comes Ms. Henry's latest bad-guys-who-you're-supposed-to-believe-are-really-not-s0-bad-guys "dark" romance series: this one set not in Russia, but Ireland (so "clan," not "bratva" or "mafia" or...you get the idea). In the process, she invokes every Irish stereotype there is (“You know better than I the Irish do best with a bit of drink no matter the time of day”).

Keenan contains all of this author's usual tropes which, while now formulaic, obviously appeal to readers. These include a dual POV; a very young, very sweet, very vulnerable non-criminal h, who isn't a brat (thank god); and an older, not sweet, not vulnerable criminal H who -- after his initial resistance -- becomes possessive and protective of the h. Despite their differences (in class, personality, and behavior), her MC fall deeply in love; in the process, the H softens and the h displays a hitherto unseen backbone.

Since most of the above are apparent, fans of Ms. Henry's will enjoy this. For me, personally, I found this book extremely ridiculous. While I get that this is fiction, an author does need to make their world coherent and I found little of it believable. This book simply asked too much of me and I couldn't suspend my disbelief enough to accept any of it. I couldn't believe that Keenan, this supposedly strong Alpha male who brutally beats an innocent young woman, because, otherwise, his father would hurt her worse, was someone worth loving. I couldn't believe that Keenan craved Caitlin's trust when he does little to earn it (and, no, constantly telling someone to "obey" and "submit" is not earning their trust). I couldn't believe that a very sheltered virgin who has never seen a man other than her father would engage in sexual acts with someone who hurts and humiliates her less than 24 hours after she meets him (she goes from 0 to 180 in about a day; tbh I don't know why Ms. Henry even includes Caitlin's extremely sheltered background since there's no evidence of it after the first couple of chapters). I couldn't believe that Keenan's pervy father commands respect when he asks a barely post-pubescent young woman to show him the "marks" on her naked body. I couldn't believe that Caitlin would feel safe with a family who threatens to torture and kill her on very little evidence. And I couldn't believe that anyone would be attracted to a woman who is such an empty vessel that she has no wants, aspirations, or desires of her own. One of Ms. Henry's strengths is her depiction of her heroines. Caitlin, however, had little personality and was, quite frankly, boring; when Keenan says she "fights him so" I saw no evidence of it since all she does throughout the book is react to Keenan. Pleasing him is her sole object for living.

I'll also add that it contains several editing and continuity errors, and the "mystery" was pretty obvious.

1 star. The characters and plot were so ludicrous (seriously, ? This author is a hit or miss for me; here, she's a miss. Authors cannot ask readers to believe something without providing a foundation for it; for me, nothing underpinned this couple's protestations of love or this clan's declarations of a moral code. YMMV.

Since there are several young men in this clan, I assume we'll get sequels.

Side Note: This book's disclaimer left me with mixed feelings:
Please note: This dark romance features mild elements of non-consent, violence, and kinky, sexual scenes. If these elements do not appeal to you, please do not purchase.
On the one hand, I appreciated that it notes that the book explicitly contains "non-consent." (Are you listening SNP and Blushing Books? You see, you can use that word; for some reason, you claim you can't.) On the other hand, enjoyment of kink and sex should not be put in the same category as non-consent and violence. Once again, I have to wonder why an author who claims to be in the lifestyle would support this "vanilla" mis-characterization of BDSM and DD.

ETA: I have to laugh at Amazon's sub-genres. This is listed under "Multicultural & Interracial Romance." Right; because two Western Civilization white people are somehow "multicultural" or "interracial." It would be funny if it weren't so offensive to people of color everywhere.

I didn’t realise that this book had discipline and a type of D/s type of relationship. When I read the blurb it gave no indication that it had those themes. For that reason I decided to stop as it’s something I am not into. I would like to say that it’s not the book because the writing was really good but it’s just my preference that I don’t like the themes I mentioned.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

*sigh*. I'm going to give this 2 stars because at times this book showed promise but it was always one step forward into possible romance, two steps back into the "oh, hell no" zone. I wanted to like this one so much. The premise of having a character brought up in total isolation was very intriguing and I thought this could add to a really fresh feeling heroine.... but it didn't. The total sudden immersion into humanity was fine for her. She stumbled rarely, knew way more than I think she would have and generally suffered no real issues from meeting people for the first time at the age of 20. People she was taught to fear for all those years. Yes, she read books but if all the books I've read were actual substitutes for lived life, I would be way smarter than I am. Sadly, in all that isolation, Caitlin never develops a personality or any ambition. Wouldn't you think that if you had never left an extremely small lighthouse with only a view of the ocean (she had literally never stepped on actual ground) you might have some dream of seeing, doing, tasting, something? How did she handle her period all those years?

Now, the H takes an extremely sheltered woman and basically just treats her like a 6 year old, beats her for having any opinion or emoting anything unpleasant toward her captor (him) or disobeying by even the smallest amount.

Ugh. You know what, this 1 Star review goes into most of this. It wasn't good. Keenan basically is her stockholm syndrome lover.

Finally, the plot twists itself into knots that make no sense.

Yeah, it’s a No for me.

I don’t mind alpha-a$$holes who love to dominate their women at all! But honestly, this book was nothing but proving the MCs dominance over a woman. There was no romance. There was no love. She couldn’t ask questions. She couldn’t leave the room. She was a prisoner and even after she wasn’t anymore, she was still locked up as one. The FMC even FINALLY decided she might be better off leaving him, but she decides to stay because it will bring peace to a clan that she doesn’t even know AT ALL, yet loves them all, because his mom talks her into it basically. Idk, like I said I don’t mind some dominance, but I just didn’t see any type of love between the main characters. Like at all. Women in this book are basically expected to sit down, stay quiet, and open their legs when their men want them. He doesn’t want a wife, he wants a slave. And there wasn’t enough steamy scenes to balance out the mafia/dominance plot, in my opinion. Also, he comes home drunk with lipstick on him, she never questions it. Probably because she’s scared that if she mentions it he’s going to punish her. This book was a definite miss for me. I’ve read books about doms before, but if it’s not done correctly, the men aren’t appealing and you just can’t like the characters. I only finished this book because I was hoping she would stand up for herself and he would realize he doesn’t want a meek little woman, but that didn’t happen. She gives into everything he wants and becomes the perfect little wife. Yuck.

Also, just to explain my opinion a little more... you have a young woman who is completely innocent to the world around her. She’s taken as a prisoner and is immediately “punished” because she tried to defend herself when random men show up and ambush her. She’s punished over any little thing by a man who gets off on hurting her. And it’s always explained to her that it’s because “we live by a code”. So your code is that all women need to shut their mouths and accept whatever the man wants to do her wether she wants it or not? And she tries to make him more appealing by saying “I know he could rape me if he wanted, but he hasn’t” *swoon* fcking disgusting. Like I said, I read a lot of dark romance and LOVE it, and even I couldn’t force myself to like this book.

"my heart is in you".
4 stars..
Even though this book was supposed to be a dark romance... It was so much more..
The hero and the sweet, innocent heroin didn't leave the darkness to take them away from there dreams.. but they used it to actually accomplish them.. they loved and pretected each other I just really felt it..
Injoyed the plot and the twists..
And as a read from the author for the first time.. I hope to read more of this awesome series.

I liked the premise but the carrying out of it was too much.

I honestly didn't like the Dom element when there was no discussion about what was happening for the heroine. She has been isolated her whole life... how does she even know what she is consenting to?

It just felt like too much.

3.5/5 stars.

First and last look at this author, I have to say. DNF. I apologise if I come off as a little strong in this review, perhaps its the feminist in me ( just to be clear I dont hate all men, I just dont agree with certain depictions of a BDSM dom/sub relationships)

The hero is a manipulative bastard and the heroine is a doormat. Their romance was toxic and off putting but if your into the basest of cliques- the incredibly naive bordering on child like innocence of the heroine and the sexually abusive, woman beating and whipping hero then go ahead, I’ll just give you a few quotes chosen to paint an accurate picture of this Irish BSDM (bdsm requires consent of which the heroine gave none and the hero does not care so really its just ass slapping and rope play not rapey at all)

“It wasn’t the first time I’ve whipped a woman, and it wont be the last”
context: she rightfully shows how angry she is at being kidnapped and forced to obey and submit to a total, abusive ass ( keep in mind this is the first human interaction she has had since her dad croaked it) and he can’t stand her ‘cheek’ in talking back to him so he brutally whips her ass with the metal of his belt (takes great pleasure in her pain and ignorance) and admits
“I fucking loved it. The way she squirmed and screamed. The power that rushed through me”

Wow doesn’t that just give the female readers the warm and fuzzies for our big bad hero? He loves to hurt her just because she talked back to him, not only that but he also wants to rape her yay we love this dynamic.

Keenan and his father, who is described as a cliqued loyal and fierce Clan leader ( the references to ‘the Clan’ reminded me of the KKK not going to lie) and yet he goes to hit this malnourished, small young woman the first chance he gets and asks her to show her the marks his son gave to her as ‘punishment’ for defending herself from strange men who invaded her property. He basically asked her to lift her skirt and give him an eyeful, a sixty something year old man. Ew. This all comes off as a pervy abusive man who has raised a sadistic clan of ‘doms’. All these interactions show is that the hero and his father take pleasure in hitting smaller, meeker prey, finding any excuse really to beat the rights from women and young girls. The only reason she is in this mess is because she went outside and checked out a shed where Keenan ‘saw her first’ he literally says this. He saw her first so she is his to abuse and lock up AGAIN.

After these interactions and the clique way she responds sexually to the first man who touches her, and his response to both her pain and virginity- I told myself ‘no I can guess where this is going and I’m going to save myself the trouble’

I did note that there are sequels... not going to check them out they will no doubt follow the same formula of man meets girl who is different, man wants her or saw her first, man takes her, she resists but ultimately submits, TENSION, man grows soft around her, she gets a backbone, they fall in love, have lots of steamy ass slapping, rope tying action, she finds out about her past, people try to kill her, her dom saves her and happy ending she gets a collar (literally he gives her a fucking collar) and a wedding. THE END now onto the sequels.

Hope your experience is a tad bit better than mine. Again no offence to the author or those who like this genre. Whatever floats your boat my friend. This just wasn’t for me.

Its been awhile since I read a JH book. And this was a decent length book with some steam and some punishments. Tiny bit darkish since it was a captive trope.

I have to admit out of all the Alphas JH has written Keenan was light on the darkish side. Even if he is going to be the head of the Clan.. Yes he did punish and such but he never took her (sexually) until she was ready. It was a while when that happen. Lots of sexual tension. but he did have moments were i rolled my eyes when he punished Caitlin. As for Caitlin at the beginning she was very navie and innocent though out the story she grew and accepted some of The Clans ways also did talk back when she knew her man was wrong.. also finding out the truth about her family. And grew connections to other family members i did enjoy her moments with Keenan mom.

The chemistry was pretty hawt between the two and i do love some of the secondary charas.. i wonder which one is going to get the next story still undecideds if ill read the next.

Some of the punishments were sucky and Caitlin really didnt deserve to be punished (spanked) for not hearing him come into the room since she never had headphones before.

No ow/om drama, no cheating, Secondary charas, Drama, sexy times, virgin gal no manwhore (idk when he last had a woman)

Recommend- maybe

Keenan and Caitlin's story was a mafia take on the "Rapunzel" fairy tale. It was a kinda sweet story but there were a lot of holes in the plot. There was chemistry between the characters but that didn't compensate for the questions that arose with the progress of the story. Overall a little boring for my taste, as I skipped several paragraphs while reading it.

Not BDSM

Some of the high reviews for this book said there was some BDSM, and yes, the author put down a disclaimer that this would be a dark read, but this... just isn’t what I was expecting. The one super, super important thing about BDSM is CONSENT. It has to be otherwise the line between erotica and sexual abuse gets blurred in a huge way. There was no consent. The heroine was naive in some ways, and then not so much in other ways. Yet it doesn’t excuse the fact she never explicitly gave her consent to hero for his treatment. I spent the majority of the time reading the book with my heart feeling like it would burst. It wasn't until 60% of the book that I realized my heart felt like that because I was angry on the heroine’s behalf. This will be my first and ONLY read from this author.

This was a sorry excuse for a sub/dom romance book. Spoiler alert- in terms of consent no means no, and beating on a woman who has been taken captive is despicable.

The main female character had a serious case of Stockholm Syndrome. This is not sexy. This is disgusting.

when will i stop being an absolute sucker for a good girl/bad boy trope. i fall for it every time and because i love it so much, i tend to give books that follow that, admittedly, overused and general plot a pass — as is the case with Keenan. there isn’t much that i can say i loved about this book, but neither was it egregiously horrible that i could rate it lower.

i will say the things that prevented me from enjoying the book the most was: one, the dom/sub elements occur mostly outside of the sex scenes, and that rubbed me the wrong way — particularly given how vulnerable Caitlin was portrayed to be; and two, why was every single major plot point written in Caitlin’s perspective? i feel robbed of so much actual mob action because three out of four times when something exciting is happening, Caitlin had no idea what was going on.

MY HEART IS IN YOU

One thing I can always say, Ms. Jane Henry never disappoints with her writing, bigger than life characters, and scenarios. What a great start to this new series, Dangerous Doms, and with it, you have the good, the bad, and the ugly. The story keeps the pages turning with a powerful, dominant man, Keenan, Captain of the McCarthy Clan, and future heir to the throne. Then there is Caitlin, a secret hidden away and just found—but is she the enemy?

“Most men aren’t pure evil or pure good. Most war with good and evil.”

Caitlin was raised by Jack Anderson, the keeper of the lighthouse and a man she called Father. She was always told she must stay inside, that outside is full of evil men that will do her harm. The man she believes is her father will die, and now, if she doesn’t find food, she will die too. Her first foray into the outside world will bring angry men, and one of them has taken her as a prisoner, he says he has a way of learning the truth. Not only is he stern, but he also stands up to others, and lets it be known that she is his and he will deal with her in his own way—and takes her to his room.

“This woman is mine. The first woman that’s ever been taken to my private quarters. The first I’ve taken prisoner. The first I’ve shielded from my father’s wrath. She could be the one. Don’t be frightened, lass, I’ll not hurt you.” --Keenan

“That’s a lie. You’re so capable of hurting me; it frightens me.” --Caitlin

The story is full of secrets, with plenty of violence, revenge, warring clans, and loyalties of the McCarthy clan to their own. It will have Keenan protecting Caitlin, but also disciplining her as he sees fit. Caitlin isn’t one to hold back, she says her peace, even knowing she will meet with his disapproval, but she also craves his dominance and knows when to submit to him. The chemistry between Keenan and Caitlin sizzles off the pages, and they just belong to each other.

“Your very presence pleases me. A man like me craves the submission and trust of a woman, and you grant that to me without a second thought. And I didn’t know how badly I craved your innocence until I tasted it.”

The story is an action-packed adventure that takes the reader inside the Irish Mafia and how they operate. It includes strong, feisty women, who support the men they love, accept that they must step back, and allow them to conduct business and not ask questions. It is power, control, dominance, discipline, and clan loyalty that ties this tale all together. It is uncovering a long-hidden secret of innocence and naiveté. Keenan must keep Caitlin safe, and together, they can change two warring clans—but will it come too late?

“It was lonely in the lighthouse. But with your family—I feel at home. I could—I could grow to love them.”

“Unencumbered with the ways of the world, she faces everything—life and death, marriage and circumstance, the violence and loyalty that forges our brotherhood—with steadfast loyalty and honesty.”

The story does depict scenes of violence, kidnapping, discipline, but the sex scenes are consensual. I don’t know where this series will take us, but I think Keenan was one of Ms. Henry’s best, and I have read them all.

What you’ll find:

- Alpha MMC
- Opposites Attract
- Forced Proximity

- Innocent FMC

Keenan is the first book in the Dangerous Doms series. It is a dark Irish mafia romance that tells the love story of Kennan and Caitlin.

For her protection, Caitlin's father kept her hidden away and in total isolation in a lighthouse. After her father passes away, Caitlin is left with no food, no experience with the outside world, and nowhere to turn. Keenan is sent to invade the lighthouse, and when he discovers Caitlin is there, he takes her as his captive.

Caitlin is sweet, young, naive, innocent, and well-read. Keenan is a leader in the underworld set to take over when his father steps down, hard, cold, and a criminal. They are an unlikely couple, but as they spend more time together, Keenan's heart softens for Caitlin, and he becomes her protector. He doesn't want to admit it, but he falls for her. Caitlin knows Keenan is not a good man by her standards, but she can't help but want to be around him. Their chemistry was palpable.

This story is an emotional rollercoaster. Parts of it made me angry and sad, but there were also parts that made me smile. I was invested in the characters and couldn't stop listening. The story is fast-paced, action-packed, has drama, and some secrets are revealed. Jane Henry's books should be on your TBR if you like mafia stories.

NARRATION:
Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross performed the dual narration. I enjoyed Wen's portrayal of Keenan. He did very well with the Irish accent and gave distinct voices to each male character. There was enough variation, which made it easy for me to know who was talking. Kai Kennicott perfectly portrayed Caitlin's innocence. The interactions between Caitlin and Keenan felt genuine and authentic. I could really feel the chemistry between the characters.

Thanks to Jane Henry and Valentine PR for providing me with a copy of the audiobook. Opinions expressed are my own.

“Tá mo chroí istigh ionat, Keenan,” she says. “My heart is in you. My everything is in you.” I hold her to my heart and squeeze. “And I in you, sweet lass. Thank you. I love you, Caitlin McCarthy.”

I finished this book two days ago and I'm already forgetting most of the major events in it. Not sure what it says about me or maybe this book didn't really stay with me. However, truth to be told, I did enjoy this book.

I liked the heroine, I think she could really stand on her own, the Hero took me a bit to be okay with. Mostly because if the heroine was unattractive to him, he would have never given her any sympathy. The reason why he seemed soft for the heroine's because of her high cheekbones and fae-like features (which he mentioned over and over) and he's attracted to all those attributes. Just imagine if she was a Plain Jane, I believe he would have beat her ass-- and that's not something I would like to think about.

Most of my reservations mainly revolved around the heroine's fast acclimation to her surroundings and the subsequent inconsistencies. We're told that the heroine had never gone to the outside world but she took to the outside world pretty well. And there's that part where the heroine asserted the fact that she's well-educated because she was homeschooled. She could quote Shakespeare like it was nothing! But at the same she was also confused when the Hero wanted to take her to breakfast? She even asked him what a breakfast was.

Like I said, inconsistent. Inconsistencies make for a very, very confused reader.

I read a later book in this series, Carson, and enjoyed it. I liked the type of Dom sub scenes the book had. The man was sexually dominant, and while was still the leader of the house, did not expect an obedient wife. Didn’t try to control her actions as much.

In this book. Jesus. I was expecting a similar story. Perhaps a little more intense with the Dom sub stuff, but it starts with this incredibly naive and innocent girl wrongly accused of being a spy and you quickly have the H talking about her obedience and submission. Then he switches to H’s father going to strike the h. And demands that the H “properly punish her.” Then later the h rightly stans up to H and he proceeds to brutally whip her with his belt in punishment. Normally I don’t mind this when it’s sexual and the sub enjoys it. But the h did NOT like it. It was straight up abuse and still the H demands obedience. And even describes how hard he is from whipping her.

Could not finish the book after that scene. That’s not dom and sub. That’s simply abuse.

Keenan is a slow dark mafia romance that takes you into the Irish mob. Keenan is to be the King of the clan when his father finally retires. But there are a lot of things that need to happen before that can take place. But in the meantime, Keenan finds a beautiful, recluse named Caitlin.

I absolutely fell in love with these characters and this story. It is unlike anything I have read from Jane. The heat and feelings you get off this story make you want to read it all in one sitting. You have to know if these two will make it till the end, and if the love you feel from the two of them will grow. You also want to know if Cait will grow up and become a strong woman.

Jane brings us another great series starting with this one in DANGEROUS DOM SERIES.

Not my liking

I could not finish this book and I was about 4 chapters to the end and just could not go on anymore. I love me a mob book, and my favorite are the Irish (wink) but I found this book so ridiculous, and our Caitlin just a poor sad doormat. She gets angry for many reasons but is put in her place over and over and just says oh well and deals, I love a dark alpha male with a strong firm hand but this was just disgusting. He's a real piece of work, totally jerk and if he called her to him like a dog one more time I might have lost it myself. Everything is a damn spanking, and I don't feel any of it was deserved. The storyline is weird and not really together, our Keenan has some serious bi polar feelings it like constant whiplash! I just had enough, not really good in my opinion.

Squee!!!! When does hit my Kindle I was so, so ecstatic! I love this author and everything she writes. And to go on this journey with her from the start of the series I am so excited. Keenan is just delicious! He meet Caitlin in an unusual way, by taking her prisoner but then he starts to develop feelings for her. Caitlin is all sweet and innocent. The two are polar opposites but they just work together and the chemistry is off the chain between the two! When Keenan, the heir to the throne of the McCarthy Clan, and Caitlin get entangled in the Irish Mafia business heads will roll. This is a fast paced book with lots of twists and turns that kept me captivated. I can’t wait for the next installment of the series!!

On verra.

This was a very interesting read. And by interesting, I mean really weird. I hate saying books are ‘bad” because I know authors pour themselves into their work so I will say that this book is lacking in a whole lot of ways. It’s written in a very elementary fashion to start but also a very clichéd one too. And it’s not always fun clichés. They’re either boring, confusing, or ineffective.

In Keenan, we meet a confusing but typical array of characters. The hard-ass but secret softy mob boss, his demanding and exacting father...that is also secretly a softy, the brave and long-suffering wife, bumbling opposition, two brothers (one is a fuck up and the other is competent but not as powerful as our H), and a sweet, innocent little heroine that needs our big bad hero to protect and care for her. She also needs to be trained. Ugh.

As you can tell, this was not fun for me. Below the ratings, is more of an in-depth review with actual spoilers. But here’s a summary:

Book: Keenan
Read By: Ebook and Audio
Author: Jane Henry
Narrator: Wren Ross and Kai Kenicott
Genre: Mafia, Dark Romance
Main Characters: Caitlin and Keenan
Recommend: Yes
Spice: 🌶️️ 🌶️️
Age recommendation: 18-30+ Years
My feelings:

Ok ok ok this was a rec of tik tok…..
Am I pleased…. Yes and no.

“Níl leigheas ar an ngrá ach pósadh,” he says in guttural Gaelic. I frown at him. I know the expression well. There is no cure for love other than marriage. The only way to solve the troubles of being in love is to marry someone.

So lets start with the negative… One there might be spice in this but its not a lot. Maybe I just read super filthy stuff so this seams mild to me… but this isn’t what I would call a Dangerous Dom.

“Christ, Keenan. Marry the lass. If you’re married, Martin can’t touch her, even if he does find out who she is and how she got here.”

Second I didnt like the Dom side of it. Now don’t get wrong im not a shy wee lass. But this was more over bearing, possessive, Mind control sort of dom. This was more like a 24/7 Dom. He wanted to be boss in all aspects. She wasn’t allowed to ask questions of him anytime of the day. She was to be meek all the time, her feelings didnt matter and she was to obey him all the time. I hated it.

“Stars, hide your fires; Let not light see my black and deep desires.”

Now the positives, I was hooked. I read this one sitting. Even though it pissed me off, Mad me happy, made me sad etc etc I was totally invested in the out come, and even in side mcs. I wanna know more about Keenans brothers, I feel like the middle brother is gonna be my book bf for sure. He was sweet but still commanding. He will be the one I love.

“Tá mo chroí istigh ionat, Keenan,” she says. “My heart is in you. My everything is in you.”

I also loved the mafia side of it, the drama was great, the being made to marry side. I love theses subjects in books. So over all I would say yes totally read this, but go in knowing he isn’t nice in any aspect and she has 0 rights. Her feeling will be dismissed and she is meek.

Escape from the tower

I don’t know if the author intended it to or not, but this book has such a Rapunzelesque feel to it. I love how the book started, and each page after that just added to the intensity. Keenan is one of my favorite characters! He has that hard edge that he only loses around his dear sweet Cait, and the author really drew that out throughout the story. I enjoyed the innocence of Caitlin and how she seemed to be the perfect foil for Keenan, and the entire family pulled on my heart strings and I can’t wait to see them each find their own HEAs. But this story isn’t all about love, there is also the roughness and danger of the Irish Mafia, creating a fantastic reading experience that I didn’t want to end.

Naughty Irishman for the win

I have to preface this review with a personal note. I started this book in a rough patch of my life. Normally, I would devour it in hours. However time/life did not allow it.

I feel like my review is a detrimental but I really did enjoy the story. I think if I hadn't taken weeks/month to read it, I would have been better connected to the story and the characters. I did enjoy Keenan even if he's a naughty man, not just because he's got the brogue but I love a Dom and add in the captive experience...yes please, sir!

I look forward to more filthy Irishmen and more hardened criminals bending for wee lasses...

----------🗼🗼 Audio review 🗼🗼------------

This was the first book I have read by the author, and I dont think it will be my last.

Keenan and Caitlin are definitely a case of opposites attracts and to say that Caitlin has had such a sheltered life, she sure doesn't put up with Keenans shit!!

This book was all go from the very beginning and had all the elements we know and love from a mafia romance. I loved the fact that this was based on the Irish mafia, and they still actually lived in Ireland.

This book is dark and spicy and definitely isn't for the faint-hearted, but I loved every second of it, and I can't wait to read about the rest of the clan men meeting their match.
