Some great quotes…..
Frederick Buechner: “Take care of yourself so you can take care of them. A bleeding heart is no good to anyone if it bleeds to death”
He says himself: “There are no straight lines in nature …it’s the same with our lives- there are few straight roads. What we thought were detours were in fact important destinations in themselves….life is less a freeway ride than a forest walk”
And this….”what matters in the end is not what castles we build but the legacies we leave in others’ lives….the character we acquire”.
In so many ways Sheridan Voysey’s title says it all in one word! I have read through all of the persuasive stories and insights in this wonderfully written and crafted volume. I have been thoughtfully provoked in reflecting on so many different aspects of my life and the world about me. I must now read it again, but slowly and find the deeper insights that I know are within.
