You drive me crazy!
Why am I always Stuck with You?!

Rowan was my gorgeous best friend, my neighbor, and my crush.
We shared everything together.
Even our first time was together.
But it’s crazy how quickly things can change.
How much the boy that used to sneak into my bedroom would change.
In one day we became enemies.
Years passed; he became a billionaire.
While I spend my days doing secretarial work.

We’re now worlds apart.
But fate has a way of always bringing us back together.

This time right under the same roof.
Our shared tragedy brought about something we didn’t bargain for.
And a drunken night turned into a night we shared our vows.
If only that was the only shocking thing that night brought!

"Anything that good, can never be that bad. And anything that good, will never really be over.”

I have heard of London James, but haven't had the chance to read any of her work. So naturally, I jumped at the chance to see how I would like her writing style. The cover was appealing  and the blurb promised enough drama to fill my drama llama. Lovers turned enemies brought together again? Everything can go so wrong its so right in this kind of story, and I knew I had to be a part of it. Was it worth everything I hyped it up to be? The blurb has nothing on the incredible story that awaits. In fact, the blurb is slightly misleading bc instead of filling my drama quota for the month, I'm walking away all inspired and uplifted.

Book Facts: Told in dual POV, Stuck with You is a standalone with a guarenteed HEA. A first love to enemies turned drunken reunion & vows romance, its a time-jumping journey of two people destined from the start. They might have grown up & gone on to live in two totally separate worlds, but fate always has a way of bringing them back. When a tragedy and booked resort force them in the same suite, they are forced to face the past they both can't let go of. But through tragedy blooms beautiful beginnings, will these two learn before its too late? You know what they say about destiny right?

"The Five":
Favs from Book: Gray Jones, the butterfly picture, Blaire, Rowan's dad, Vegas "Overlook"
Hates from Book: Everly's selfishness, Rowan's stubborness, Becky at the front desk, "this was a mistake", that stupid mountain.
Quotes:
"Man, that’s what friends are for. I'll bust your ass for it another time when you aren’t face to face with the love of your life. Who is also your sister.” “Shut the fuck up.”
-Gray

"I need to know what made me lose my best friend, Everly. I need to know why I wasn’t good enough.”
-Rowan

"Him?” Everly slurs. “He is just my stepbrother.” Oh, she wishes. “The stepbrother who fucks her,” I reply.
- Everly & Rowan

"You drive me fucking insane, Everly!” “You’ve already driven me insane, Rowan.” “Good, because that is how you have made me feel the last five or six years. That feeling of uncertainty you feel, that ache in your heart, the questions in your mind,” I tap the side of my temple. “That’s been my life for the last six years. So welcome to hell, Everly. Buckle up and enjoy the ride.” I spread my arms out, as if welcoming her to said hell.
-Rowan & Everly

"We shouldn’t be doing this,” I say, breaking the kiss. Despite myself, I hold onto him tighter. “I know.” “We need to be smarter,” I moan as his lips travel down my neck.
- Everly & Rowan

Characters:
“I think I’ll always love you to the point of madness, Everly.” “I’ll always love you too, Rowan. Until the end of time and space.”

Everly Madison:
"The Five" - Facts:
1. Rowan is her first love, but she is to blame for breaking his heart and ruining what they had.
2. Has her identity stolen resulting in her life being ruined and a secretarial job at a tattoo shop instead of her dream of opening a veterinarian clinic (like she went to school for).
3. Keeps a scrapbook of all of Rowan's accomplishments over the years.
4. She wants Rowan even after all this time but decides to stop letting him punish her by treating her so cruelly.
5. She is terrified that Rowan will wake up one day and decide he can do better or that he doesn't love her but the memory of who she used to be. She allows her fears to make her run from it.
"The Five" - Characteristics: beautiful, scared/coward, survivor, independent, fiesty

Fav Scene: the drunken fight in Denver
Fav Quote: I do what I do best. I run. (because it describes her perfectly)

How I felt: First impression of her (after prologue) was dislike, I'm sorry I can't understand or want to understand what drove her to make the decisions she does without so much as a discussion. It takes the destruction of her life (so to speak) for me to open up to rooting for her. When she finally decides to stop taking his hate I saw a fire in her that I admired and wanted more of. Although she isn't going to make any of my top heroine lists, I appreciated in the end she sees her flaws and makes the decision to stop allowing them to ruin what could be.

Rowan Michaels:
"The Five" - Facts:
1. Owner & CEO of LifeRight Financial, the accounting app he & his best friend Gray created & made millions on after only 2 years at Berkley (they dropped out at that time to focus on it).
2. Everly is his first love, but he's still angry and resentful for how she left that night and for her not responding to any of his communications.
3. He hasn't seen Everly in four years but has yet to get over her. He's dated, but been able to find anyone that makes him feel the same.
4. He wants Everly but he isn't ready to forgive her or forget all the pain she caused him. This leads to him being awful to her in certain situations.
5. He has to learn to let go and create new memories, because the old ones are destroying his future.
"The Five" - Characteristics: billionaire, prideful, handsome, dominating, serious.

Fav Scene: the epilogue
Fav Quote: "No matter how many times I try and get away from you, to put you behind me, something happens and the memory of you surfaces. So just stop. Let me go.”

How I felt: First impression (after prologue) was protectiveness, I felt like he was the party done wrong and in turn I didn't want him to get hurt again. I felt sorry for him, that he couldn't let go of the anger and resentment to forgive her even just for himself. Even four years later, I love that despite the fact he's a gorgeous billionaire he still only has room in his heart for one specific girl. However, he infuriated me with four words.....I wasn't sure if I could like him afterwards, but he surprised me again. I love that he is flawed, that he has a habit of saying the wrong things. And that like Everly, he learns his own lessons in order for them to finally get their HEA.

"The Five" - Their Relationship: destined, slow-building, once in a lifetime, magnetic, hard
How I felt: At first I did not want him to give her another shot at anything, IDC if she still "loves" him, her sacrifice was a selfish one out of ignorance and cowardness. When they see each other after 2 years I didn't want him to give into her. But when the crisis brings them together, I just wanted him to let go of his pride and her grow a backbone and fight....it was clear they were meant to be. They are infuriating, coming to many points that I couldn't see them moving forward. But it takes a few drunk nights, screaming matches, a few outside shoves, and a surprise but these two finally get it right.

Final Thoughts:

Me Currently:

What I expected from this read was a lot of drama and not a ton of "substance", which wouldn't have made it a bad read. What I got was one I wasn't quite prepared for and one that I almost canned early on. By Chapter 2 Everly's selfishness almost drove me to stop reading. She was infuriating. Obviously I continued and there were more infuriating times ahead with both characters, but it added to the "imperfect people" aspect so many books try to avoid. However, Everly outweighed Rowan on my raging scale by far.... in fact, I think what happens with Everly in New York was necessary (for me) in order to get over how she acts in the beginning chapters. I am not saying she deserved it, just I needed something to happen to make me want to root for her.

I love that although its evident from the beginning these two are destined to be, the story is one that teaches life-lessons along the way. You are going to get so mad & frustrated you want to quit reading, but I can honestly say its such an beautiful inspirational story. And the icing on top (at least for me)? Extended epilogues are my jam, and Rowan & Everly's might be my favorite part of the entire book. It's sweet but also absolutely hilarious....something necessary for a book full of so much emotional trauma and "brokenness." It was so fitting to see after so many years,  showing us that they were able to heal and living their HEA.

"The love that we will share. Until the end of time and space."

JUVENILE.
Don't trust a story that begins with the heroine feeling all sappy wanting her firsts with the boy she loves and suddenly she ghosts him?
WTF?
The pacing was completely off, and I felt so sorry for the MMC.

This book is a second chance romance journey involving two childhood sweethearts, Rowan and Everly, who are romantically and sexually involved, who then separate due to a misunderstanding, and eventually reunite due to difficult personal circumstances. The book is emotional, dramatic, romantic, and full of steamy chemistry. The storyline and characters are interesting.

Love it !!

Such a great love story !! Rowan and Everly both had something special about them , he was a hot sexy billionaire and she was sweet and beautiful . They’ve been best friends since they were five and both suffered the loss of a parent. They had to overcome so many obstacles to be together. I have to say the epilogue was my favorite it had me laughing !! I hope there is a book on Rowan’s best friend Gray , you couldn’t help but love that guy !!

This was an okay read. Neither MC was particularly attractive. Both were supposed to be super smart and talented but this did not show in their relationship with each other. To allow such a conflict to exist for as many years as theirs did was just plain maddening. Yes, they finally achieved their HEA but through too much drama and self inflicted pain and miscommunication.

I couldn't get enough of Rowan & Everly's story. Love books like this where the characters grow up together. Good characters. At times I never wanted to put it down. I received a free copy of the book. And am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Rowen and Everly drove me crazy. You would think they’ve grown a little in the 2 years they haven’t spoken or seen each other but they’re still so immature.
