Shannon is a mother, wife, artist, and USA Today Bestselling Author. When she's not busy taking care of her family, she does everything from creating art with melted crayons to painting in the rain to writing entertaining stories under several different pen names. Her first mystery series features a flirtatious sleuth, a cooky grandma, and a retirement home of gun-toting vigilante grannies. Her stories are sure to entertain.
The first two books in the Glock Grannies Cozy Mystery Series have made the USA Today Bestsellers list a combined three times.
This series was okay. I liked the last book the best. It had me laughing loud. The characters are interesting and entertaining. The grannies were a hoot. I really had a problem with Nikki not being able to make up her mind about her fiance. After she came to Florida and started dating Joe she should have broken it off with Bo.
The mysteries are interesting and the characters are fun, lively, and sometimes hilarious. Each granny has a unique personality, I like them all. Their backgrounds are only slowly being told. The newest member of the glock grannies is not a granny but one of the grannies' granddaughters. She has an unusual background; her background is not well flushed out, but that's part of her mystery. Why does she act the way she does? No spoilers here, but it eventually sorts itself out. I really loved the first 3 books in the series and acquired the whole series plus novellas. It will be a binge read for me.
I regret saying I could not get past the writing to the story. Things like, "his dark hair and dark eyes made him instantly likable" , that's just one small example, but overall it was very simplistic and silly. I wanted so much to like it, because I was over the moon for The Thursday Murder Club series and hoped this would be even half as good as that intelligent and witty writing. Just think of the Babysitters Club preteen series vs an Agatha Christie mystery. Then double the difference.
I've enjoyed reading this series of stories about a young woman who goes to Florida to visit her grandmother. She has been married six times already and is engaged to marry number seven! The story is a wacky work of art! The author must be a little off center to be able to to keep herself from falling out of her chair while writing these stories.
I liked the set. It was a cute cozy about Nikki who is a thirty-something going to live with her mother's mother, not GRANDMA! She arrives in a Florida retirement community with a group of Grannies who keep law and order in their town. Thru their adventures, Nikki discovers herself especially because of 6 failed marriages.
I liked the books they were a fast read. Wondering where Nikki got her money when she wasnt working to go out. Also serial wife?? Ah come on she isn't a movie star to have been married that many times. Those Glock Grannies had more energy than people in their 20's. But I'm hooked to continue on with the series.
Wonderful and entertaining characters. The grannies are a fun group of characters to follow. Lots of twists and turns with plenty of drama thrown in. Each book has it's own entertaining journey. Good set of books.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I don't remember laughing so much while reading any other series. These kept me up reading most of the night. Some really funny stories and kept me wanting more. However, there was one part in book three that kind of broke my heart and made me cry; then, it was followed by a good laugh. Can't wait to start reading the next set!
These ladies are a handful. Full of surprises and fun to be around. Shannon has really captured all of what we would like in our granny. All of the characters bring something to the table that’s different than anyone else can’t wait to start on the next book. Awesome writing and a fun hold on to your hat because it’s gonna be a wild ride
I have totally enjoyed these books. The storyline s were awesome and definitely a fun read. A lot of humor that made it easy to visualize every character. I highly recommend this series. To laugh out loud while getting to know every character was awesome
I started the series with a bit of reluctance thinking that the storyline would be stale or ridiculous. But to my surprise the storyline was very funny and engaging. I got to where I didn’t want to put the book down. I am so glad that a 4th book is coming out in May. Can’t wait.
Witty outrageous dialogue. This is a laugh out loud unput down able series .Grannies'ways of solving the crimes will keep you in stitches. Strap yourself in and enjoy the ride
I really enjoyed listening to this three book box set. I liked how all the characters worked together to help each other and solve an old crime. There are a lot of laughs all through these books.
