IT’S THE NEW DAY GRAPHIC NOVEL, YES IT IS!
WWE Superstars Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods and Big E debuted as a team called The New Day...and changed the WWE Universe forever!
Everyone knows The New Day are six-time Tag Team Champions - including the longest reign in WWE history - but now, for the first time, discover the true origins of this unforgettable trio.
Follow young Kofi, Xavier, and Big E as they learn about the world of wrestling, take on opponents big and small, and battle their egos - and those around them - as they struggle to find success in solo careers. But when they realize they’re stronger together than apart, the New Day is born - and set on a collision course against their greatest rivals to determine if they’ll have a place in WWE history!
Evan Narcisse (Rise of The Black Panther), Austin Walker (Friends At The Table) and Daniel Bayliss (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) reveal the untold story behind one of the greatest tag teams in WWE history!
This was a good story (for kids.) There were glimpses of the real story there, but it would have been great if it had been closer to the “truth.” One more issue would have been nice to demonstrate the New Day's glorious goofiness getting over with the crowds.
VERY funny that they featured The Shield so prominently when the authors don't have the right to use Dean Ambrose's image. But mostly cute and fun! I love you Big E. I love you Kofi Kingston. I love you Xavier Woods.
This review is about two things: respect... and potatoes.
Okay, maybe not respect and potatoes but two things this comic illustrates perfectly are the power of positivity and perseverance. I've been a WWE fan for the better part of two decades now and for a tag team as beloved as The New Day is, I was so happy to see this comic capture the spirit of the team and Big E, Kofi, and Xavier separately as individuals. The gimmick development sessions were hilariously cringeworthy but it was nice to see them step into being unapologetically themselves, which is what I think is the heart of The New Day. This is a good comic; yes, it is.
