She made a deal with a dark god.
Now he's come to collect.

When her best friend is mortally wounded, Rhia makes a deal with a dark god to save him. She expects to give up her soul, but he wants something far more binding: Her servitude.

Rhia is made the next Dark Lady--a sorceress who answers only to Aeredus, Lord of Darkness--and is given powers beyond her wildest dreams, along with three sexy, dangerous men to do her bidding.

But an evil god won't ask for mere tribute in his name. He wants the very essence of Good brought to its knees. To avoid being corrupted by the lure of Evil, Rhia will have to be nimble, cunning, and willing to trust a conniving warlock, an oathbreaking paladin, and a brutish half-orc.

It's either that or become utterly seduced by the darkness and lose sight of her old life forever...

Her Dark Guardians is a revere harem (or WhyChoose) medium-burn fantasy romance series. Throughout the series you'll find explicit MF, MFM, MM, and MMF scenes, as well as--most importantly--a heroine who doesn't have to choose between her three (and eventually five!) men.

Kind of meh?

Almost DNF a few times.

Might not finish the series.

At this point I'm certainly not THAT interested, although I would like to see the resolution between the MC and Desmond. Then again, I can always just imagine it myself and save my reading time for other series that I enjoy more.

There is nothing really wrong with the series. I liked reading about Karak especially. There is nothing really wrong with the writing style either. I would still try other books by this author. For some reason, this particular story didn't really speak to me.

Perhaps it is because I just couldn't connect to a MC who makes a pact with an evil god, knowing he is evil, and then uses evil powers. Yes, she wants to be good and do good, but she isn't. She made a pretty serious choice. I just don't relate to her or admire her. That might be why I couldn't really get into the story.

Review

This is great new fantasy series. It has a Skyrem sort of feel to it with orcs, mages, Palladians and gods who interfere with mortals. I can't wait for the next book

I enjoyed the concept (black/white vs grey morality), the world (there were fish people!), the romance (was set up for some great smut) and the characters (I love an emo wizard!) BUT it is only the first part of a full story and, despite being published back in 2019 (four years ago at the time of this review), there are no more installments to the series so a reader is just left hanging at the end.

I am not the kind of person to give five stars easily for a book, but I really enjoyed this story. I would qualify this book as a medium burn reverse-harem fantasy book. It has a truly interesting plot, great world building and for once in a reverse-harem book we truly see the link between the characters developing. Will read more book from this author in the future.

Been waiting for weeks....so worth it

I’m a big fan of underdog books/movies you name it, and what’s more underdog then undermining a god?! Rhia and her men are in for one heck of an adventure. I’m excited for the second book and believe this is going to be a great series!

I had such a hard time getting into it and almost gave up on it, but I just kept pushing myself to read more and hoping that it would catch my interest. Unfortunately it didn’t.. I won’t continue the series

So good!

This book, I don't know what to say. Very well-written and great world-building. There were scenes that broke my heart and others that out it back together. Extremely well done! Looking forward to book 2.

WHERE IS THE NEXT BOOK!?

I enjoyed this! Hate that it ended on a cliffhanger. Super sad that the next book isn't out yet. Not sure if another book is even coming?

This book is a slow burn in romance and steamy department, but has exciting adventurous story. This story will draw you in and keep u wanting more. The characters are well written and there back stories and personalities draw you in to their relationship with one another. An I believe this story is going to become more intriguing as the series goes on.

Could not get into

Hard to get into, I kept reading hoping it would catch my interest, and 45% in I just couldn't pretend to try any longer. Our main heroine who's name I can't really remember is a silly girl who is silly enough to try and go into a world that's not all black and white. She is ignorant of ppl, and everything around her.
