What’s even worse than having a snarky talking tabby as your best friend? When he inexplicably goes missing…
Octo-Cat is gone, and all the evidence suggests that he was taken on purpose. With the growing number of people the two of us have put behind bars, it’s no surprise that someone’s out for revenge.
But how will I ever manage to solve this particular crime without the help of my partner?
The only other person who might be able to help me just relocated to Georgia. But I’m desperate enough to try anything, including exposing my secret to the whole of Blueberry Bay. Anything to bring him home safe.
Molly Fitz is the quirky, cozy mystery pen name of USA Today bestselling author, Melissa Storm. And while she can't technically talk to animals, she and her doggie best friend, Sky Princess, have deep and very animated conversations as they navigate their days. Add to that, five more dogs, a snarky feline, comedian husband, and diva daughter, and you can pretty much imagine how life looks in the Casa de Fitz.
Molly lives in a house on a high hill in the Michigan woods and occasionally ventures out for good food, great coffee, or to meet new animal friends.
Angie Russo has become accustomed to her finicky feline sidekick. She's gotten used to Octo-cat talking to her....used to his demands for her time and attention....used to his demanding to only drink Evian and eat Fancy Feast in his special bowl. He's a big part of her life.... And, he's missing.
The Cat Caper is the 5th book in the Pet Whisperer, P.I. series. Someone has taken Octo-Cat, and Angie is determined to get him back. The case will lead her ask for help from some unexpected sources...but she's willing to do anything to get her bestie back!
I enjoyed this book! The plot is engaging....there's some nice character development...and some new characters I hope come back in later books. Fun read! I enjoy the mix of humor and sleuthing. Angie is a capable main character. Nan is a rock. And, Octo-Cat is snarky but lovable.
I'm definitely going to keep reading this series. Always entertaining and fun!
The Cat Caper is another amusing installment of the Pet Whisperer PI series. The story is well-written, and it proceeds at lively pace. I recommend reading a Pet Whisperer PI series in order. It allows you to follow Angie and Octo-Cat’s journey from the beginning. I laughed frequently while reading about Octo-Cat’s and Angie’s latest entertaining adventure. I like that Angie can now talk with other animals without Octo-Cat’s assistance. The squirrel, Maple and the racoon, Pringle were hilarious. I thought the author captured the animals’ characteristics perfectly. I could just picture the excited little squirrel jumping around and having a fascination with peanut butter. Nan, of course, was her usual comical self. I admit to liking her latest crafted creation and Nan’s attire is certainly unique. Charles returns as well to help Angie and I am glad to see to see a brighter future in store for this pair. There is a sneak peak of Chihuahua Conspiracy at the end (I cannot wait to get it).
Angie Russo, barely recovered from the shock of her newly acquired abilities, is distraught over Octo-Cat's disappearance. Is it a coincidence that the relatives of Octo's deceased former human owner are contesting the will? But when Angie receives a ransom note, it looks really bad. Where is Octo-Cat? Is he even alive?
Thankfully, the previous book is now more or less a bad dream, and we're back in business. In THE CAT CAPER, Angie, Nan, and Charles investigate, along with some new furry characters. I loved Maple and the fab Pringle; I did miss our favourite feline, though.
The editing is much improved, there are only a few typos and misused words. With the higher price, I expected a longer book, but it was a fun and quick read, albeit rather slow-paced. I hope we get to see more of the reunion in the next installment, because I thought the ending was rushed.
Octo-cat is missing, a Raccoon named Pringle, a forgetful squirrel, random notes and is there movement in the Charles situation? Just as there’s a challenge to the trust fund set up for Octo-cat, he goes missing.
“Crazy people will do anything if they think it will help them reach their crazy goals,” she said sagely.“
Angi, Nan, Cal, Charles and Octo-cat....wait a second, Octo-Cat’s missing?! Why, why would anyone take Octo? Would it have anything to do with the arbitration against Ethel Fulton’s estate? And why is Angi talking to a raccoon? Has she lost it permanently?
Seems the raccoon knows about Octo, he is obsessed with him; considers himself the president of his fan club [of which he may be its only member] and is determined to find him...no idea how or even why he’s so obsessed, but he’s great comic relief in a rather tense situation. Anger, road trips, undercover sleuthing lead to changes on all fronts. Can Angi find Octo? Does he want to be found? Does the catnapper have enough Evian?
Molly Fitz has done it again! Octo-Cat and his cronies are a great escape and I so love this series. Highly Recommended 5/5
[disclaimer: I received this book from the author and voluntarily reviewed it]
I like that the additional animal speak is put to use and we learn a bit more about everyday animals we see each day. I like that they have different personalities and abilities.
Cons:
While the book was still entertaining, it can never be as good as the previous installments with so little page time for Octocat.
Poor Angie. Octo-Cat has gone missing and she and her friends have to find him quickly. This is a terrific book and an amazing series. Angie’s interactions with the animals in this book and the love she has for Octo-Cat melted my heart. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!
I enjoyed this book. The series is so quirky it is fun. I did miss not having the high demanding Octo-cat in it so much but found that I did like the ever pleasing raccoon Pringles and he more than made up for Octo-cat absence. There wasn't really much mystery and even through they claimed to have a number of suspects, there was only really ever one. It was more a story about how Angie's powers has developed and how she learns to talk to more animals. I did enjoy it and can't wait to see how the new power's will help her in the next book. Octo-cat has gone missing and someone is after his money. With only days in order to produce him in court Angie, Nan and Charles are up against the clock to find him. Someone must have seen him being taken because there is no way his royal highness would every wander into the woods. With no human witnesses around Angie the Pet whisper P.I turns to the woodland animals for help. Can they get him back before the deadline or will they lose the house or more importantly will Octo-Cat lose his life like the ransom note suggests?
Octo-Cat is missing!! Nobody can figure out where he is. An absent minded squirrel and a raccoon are going to help. Yes now she can speak to and understand all animals. Her friends and Nan are helping out of course.
Who wants Octo-Cat and why? It takes a while but all will be revealed!!
These are clean, fun cozy mysteries! I read this one in one sitting---hey I was pretty worried about Octo-Cat!!
A good read but not the best. The plot should have been great as Octo Cat goes missing and his attendance at a will contest hearing is required. Leaving just a few short days to find him. However the ending to the plot is lacking. Yes so Octo Cat got his own brand of justice on the catnapper but they are still free to work other means of getting the house back. Most unsatisfactory! However the animals she meets - Maple the flighty peanut butter obsessed squirrel and Pringle the number one fan of Octo Cat and a trash panda to boot are terrific. You can almost see her scatter brained approach to the investigation and Pringle stalking the room as he tries to come up with a plan to get his hero back. Absolutely terrific! Plus the romance between her and her crush has nicely moved up a notch as have her plans for the agency.
Angie’s back in business, but this time the mystery she needs to solve is the disappearance of Octavius Maxwell Ricardo Edmund Frederick Fulton. Or “Octo-cat”, as Angie calls him. Suddenly, the feline beneficiary is missing, and the human Fulton heirs are crawling out of the woodwork to contest the will that left him a very wealthy tabby. Will Angie, and her newfound team of helpers be triumphant, or will they all be out in the street on their collective tails? I loved the new sidekicks that are introduced in this book. And I like that we’re back to the formula that made the first books so successful. The only issue I had was that they invested so much time and effort getting to the ending that the resolution felt like it happened too easily. I still had oodles of fun and I’m loving these characters, so I’m on this ride until the end.
Another great book by Molly Fritz! I love these funny quirky books, where Angie can talk to animals. The characters are fun and interesting especially Nan! She is my favorite and seems like there would never be a dull moment around her. Octo cat is hilarious and has such a attitude making Molly’s books so fun. I love the mysteries and the animals that are in the books. The animals are so funny and keep me laughing until the last page. Each book builds on the last one but can be read as a stand alone. If you like to laugh and solve mysteries than you definitely need to read Molly’s books!
Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
I liked that this book was a little different from the previous ones in that no one died. Instead Octo-Cat is missing. It was a cute, fun story involving a squirrel, a raccoon, Nan of course, who is Angie Russo's grandmother, and two good looking guys, Cal and Charles. This book will leave you smiling and in a good mood when Octo-Cat is finally found so the series can continue. I also enjoyed watching Nan try to play matchmaker with her granddaughter and it was interesting to see that a relative still wanted to contest the will that supplies Octo-Cat with his expensive tastes. I received an advanced copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Book 5 is back on track after a misstep with Book 4. Once again, we were treated to a cozy that flowed smoothly and held my attention. Now that Angie can talk with all animals we have some new characters. I loved Pringle and Maple. I hope they return in future books. I hope this is the last we see of Ethel's family and Breanne. Octo-Cat's snide, snarky commentary was sorely missed in this book but at least we got a little bit of him. I felt the kiss was little rushed seeing as how Charles had just broken up with Breanne but at least the relationship between him and Angie is on the right track. I'm looking forward to reading Book 6.
The Cat Caper is the fifth book in the delightful Pet Whisperer P.I. series. Octo-cat goes missing just as his inheritance is being disputed. Coincidence or foul play? Angie has to race against time to rescue Octo-cat and enlists help from friends, family and some rather unexpected sources. This book is a well written cosy mystery with great characters and Pringles and Maple are absolutely wonderful and a brilliant addition to this already funny series. I loved this book and definitely recommend it. I do however suggest that the books are read in order to fully appreciate them as each continues on from the previous one.
Angie Russo can talk to animals but she started out by only being able to talk to her ca, Octavius, who was the heir for the woman who owned him before she was murdered. When Angie receives a summons for Octo-Cat to appear in court because Ethel's will is being contested. The only problem is Octo-Cat is missing and the court date is in three days.
I really enjoyed this book and read it in one sitting. I was hooked from beginning to end. With lively characters both animals and people, The Cat Caper is an excellent read that will keep you guessing. I highly recommend both book and series which I suggest you read in order.
The Cat Caper (Pet Whisperer P.I. #5) by Molly Fitz tells of the time that Octo-Cat is catnapped. Angie has to solve this case without the inspired help of her dearly loved kitty, Octo-Cat. With help from her Nan, Cal and Charles, oh, and a group of a few other interesting animals with whom Angie is now able to talk, the team travels near and far to track down the culprit. In the meantime, Charles and Breann's relationship finally ends.
There is a happy ending for Octo-Cat and Angie in several ways! And Octo-Cat meets the President of his very own fan club!
I was given a copy of this book by the author and am voluntarily posting an honest review.
Ms.Fitz has her capricious caracters on the with mayhem and humor in abundance, Poor Octo- Cat has gone missing ,Angie and nan are beyond worried hunting around town trying to find him. While Angie makes the acquaintance of of Octo-Cat's number one fan a mystifying racoon and a bubbly squirrel. Old grudges also come to light. I laughed through most the hole read. If you enjoy your cozey mystery with LOL and animals in the mix you found the book for you, start enjoying the " The Cat Caper "(Pet Whisperer P.I # 5)this moment. 😊🙄😄 Kat
Fun read, worth taking the journey with Molly Fitz
The cat is missing, Angie and Nan are frantic. Regardless of what she tries or who they rope into the investigation, they can't find him! Then the legal letter arrives, what are those damn people up to? Then the blackmail note arrives. Only one way to solve this one, enlist the help of the animals in the woods nearby. Filled with quips, giggles and twists, this book is one crazy ride. Loved it! I received this book as a gift and give my honest review happily.
Octo Cat has disappeared and Angie is upset over it. The relatives of Octo's deceased former human owner are contesting the will. Angie receives a ransom note. Nobody can figure out where he is.To find out who wants Octo-Cat you need to get the book. You will enjoy it. I receive complimentary books for review from publishers, publicists, and/or authors. I am not required to write positive reviews. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255.
This was a really fun story. In this "episode", someone has catnapped Octo-cat! Angie how to extreme lengths to find her beloved missing cat. Also, there's a court case she must be present at with Octo-cat and unless she can find him, she might lose something very important. So she, her Nan, Charles, and some other friends (including some newfound animal friends) must put their heads together and discover who has taken her cat. This is a very fun and quick read. I really enjoyed it.
I think I enjoyed/laughed more with this one than the pervious books. You won't believe who helps Angie, Charles & Nan solve the mystery of who kidnapped Octo-Cat. (There names are Maple & Pringle. I just love those names but that's all I'll give away.) This really is a hoot of a story. Angie may be getting closer to have her HEA also but not in this book. You have to read this series. I received an ARC. This is my happy, honest, voluntary review.
Angie is on her own this time because the mystery is her missing cat. Instead of building on their sleuthing teamwork, her whisperer skills have advanced or rather opened up and so does her relationship status. Fast paced adventure and entertaining group of mystery solvers, in the absence of Octo-Cat, assist a very determined Angie. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author.
Now that Octo-cat is safely back home and Angie and Charles are now an item, Angie and Octa-cat have opened their P.I. business. Then Nan throws a monkey-wrench in the middle of everyone's plans by adopting and bringing home a feisty little Chihuahua. How will this work out?? Who knows???? this is the 5th book in the series. Please join us and see what happens next. Highly recommended.
As a big fan of the Pet Whisperer series this book cant stand a chance with othe others. The storyline I guess was there as it was dawn out so much I feel asleep three nights trying to read it and each time had to reread the pervious chapter to figure out what w2s goin on. (Usually read each book in one siting) The last three or so chapters started to feel like what I was used to! Finally!
I have been provided with a copy of The Cat Caper by the author for an impartial review. This is the fifth book in the brand-new Pet Whisperer P.I. series and I just loved getting to reenter this amazing world. I just couldn’t get enough of this story. It was just so easy to get lost in and I loved getting to go along with Angie on her current mystery. This was just such a great read that I was able to finish it in one sitting. I just can’t wait to see what happens next with this series.
This book is full of lovable characters and a fast paced plot. When Angie's cat Octo-Cat is catnapped she fears for her friends life, but she is also in danger of losing her home since it's Octo-Cat's trust fund that pays for it.
Angie enlist the aid of some forest animals that it turns out have been spying on the house and soon tracks down the culprit that wants to strip Octo-Cat of his fortune.
The fifth book in this series and Octo-Cat goes missing, every pet owner's worst nightmare!
I missed his snarky 'voice' in the book, but couldn't put it down to see how and where they would find him.
The plot is well set-up and Angie has to come up with a solution to this mystery with the help of her human and animal friends to solve it. I loved the character development and the added characters, I hope to read more about them!
In The Cat Caper, Octo-Cat is missing! Plus Angie discovers he has to be in court Friday. As each day passes, Angie questions if she will ever find Octo-Cat, especially find him by Friday. With the help of some forest critters, Nan, and Charles will Angie and Octo-Cat be reunited? In another well written book, you can read the latest adventure.
