The 8th Commandment

Rate this book
Daniel Brimes was now an old man in failing health, a master thief who wanted to celebrate one last Communion with a clear conscience before he died...
The item was placed on the table in plain view of both poker players, and everyone else in the room. Clifford spoke to the appraiser, but he directed his voice toward Jason. "Would you uncover it, please."
"Yes, sir."
The velvet was pulled away from the square-shaped item. Clifford knew what to expect, so he was calm and unmoved. Jason let his surprise show with a tilt of his head. But it was Daniel who saw the one new addition to his collection that would take the next forty years before it would see the inside of his vault.
His mind flashed back to his childhood Sunday School lesson of the 8th Commandment. "Thou shall not steal."
What would he do?
