Rate this book

Various is the correct author for any book with multiple unknown authors, and is acceptable for books with multiple known authors, especially if not all are known or the list is very long (over 50).

If an editor is known, however, Various is not necessary. List the name of the editor as the primary author (with role "editor"). Contributing authors' names follow it.

This is a very interesting book on the scientific and philosophical aspects of multiverses. I was able to learn a lot about the different concepts of the multiverse, there were actually more types of multiverses than I would have expected. The participants were all very knowledgeable and also able to convey their ideas in a way accessible to the general public, although quite a lot of references to major philosophers were left relatively unexplained compared to the scientific concepts that were usually more gently introduced. Still the main philosophical ideas around multiverses are well-presented.

One issue I had with this book is that I wish the moderator would assign speaking times between participants more evenly since some had much more space to speak than others. This problem affects the ‘philosophy section’ of the book the most. Although some important philosophical concepts about the multiverse are discussed, an unnecessarily large section is spent discussing positions around how to do/consider science and relativism, which constitute an interesting debate on their own but in my opinion took away too much screentime from the multiverse discussion.
