Gemma's daughter, Marie, was one of the most one dimensional character that I've read about in any Gabrini/Sinatra book. The book itself came off very flat - almost boring. I never got a feel for Marie, only a description. How did everyone in the family who met her immediately "get" her? What did they see or understand about her? There was nothing written about Marie that showed who she really is.

Even the other characters came across as flat. Had I not known them, I wouldn't have recognized them from this book. When did Robby's and Curtis's relationship become so open? If Sal accepted them as a couple, why did Curtis not understand the truth about Sal? Was Cassie trying to protect Gamma or was she about maintaining appearances? Gemma's reaction to Cassie's duplicity was totally out of character - really weak. Tommy wasn't the Tommy I loved. Reno was just a dirty old man; and Trina ready to slap him down because of it - Please! Mick and Sal fighting each other, yeah, right? Mick certainly had more control of himself than he exhibited in this book. Sal was the only one who was true to form.

The action was pretty tame and the sex was glossed over. There was no sexual chemistry in this book at all. It seems the book was written by a ghost writer - not by Ms. Monroe. I was left with lots of questions. How did Marie even meet Marco? Who was Marco? Why was he even allowed to be part of the cartel? Did The authorities discover the relationship Cassie had with the baby stealing ring? The Epilogue added nothing to the book nor did it resolve anything.

Why is the writing in the last books become so unappealing and unbelievable? Had I not been a fan of the Sinatras/Gabrini, this would be my last book by Ms. Monroe. Same errors but not as many. I've about reached the end of my rope with Ms. Monroe. I hope that her personal, family problems haven't overwhelmed her to the point of not being true to the characters we've come to love. Perhaps she should take a sabbatical.

The Clash of the Titans....GOOD LAWD!!

My heart dropped in shock at the clash of the mob bosses. WOW... I did not see that coming! I didn't see Gemma having a baby either but once the story was told, I understood. As a mother myself, I even understood Cassie's part in it. Sal even had some hard lessons to learn in this story. what I do like about every Gabrin and Sinatra story is how these big bad mobster guys just love their wives and families. They are putty at their wives' feet and Sal is no different with Gemma. I just love their love. Even Marie could also see it the short time she was in the family and knew what Marco was capable of. The jury is still out on her, especially by big Daddy's comment. I can see her un-intentionally causing all kinds of trouble for Gemma and Sal.

I just love how Mallory weaves a tale. She reached way back to one of Sal's early stories for the background on this one. I really enjoy the suspense and action in this story as always.

REVIEW:

Well another installment of Sal and I have to say that although enjoyed this book I just wish Reno & Trina just would mind their own damn business, they always want to interject their opinion or thought into Sal & Gemma marriage.  Do Gemma has a daughter that she thought had died after giving birth, and she can thank her mother for that.  I will say I am cautious when it comes to Gemma daughter, I will have to wait and see what Mallory is going to do with this character, I just hope she is the real deal and not somebody who is trying to hurt them.  As always, they think Sal is to soft when it concerning Gemma and Tommy, Reno and Mick thought that. Its like that don’t give him any credit, he is a mob boss……………………..

Then enter Mick, Mr. Know it all, walk in like he is their father, they can’t make a move until he says so, well the confrontation between Sal & Mick finally happen, and I am proud of Sal.  Although this was about Gemma and her daughter, Sal was directly the target the one he wanted to hurt.  I’ve said it before Mallory always bring back character from old book and I love how she tie them into the story. The enemy come in the form of someone from Sal & Tommy’s mother.

I enjoyed reading Sal & Gemma story and look forward to the next Sal books, not sure what is going to happen, but I hope maybe another baby girl………….or if that the reason Maria is in the picture now so no more babies for Sal & Gemma which is a shame.  Just hope the new daughter doesn’t turn out to be a problem.

Just Fantastic!

When I read the sypnosis for this story,I was intrigued and excited all at the same time. The writer as always gives us a compelling story, that not only takes is on a rollercoaster of a ride but it ties our emotions in knot as well. We get to see two sides of the coin when you discover that this is about Gemma and Cassie her mother. We get a really go story and its was nice to not have all the focus on the Fabric I'd for a change. Now I was a little disappointed with the little simple typos that came up in a few of the scenes. We are well into this series and family ,it's time to know before the final release triple check is in order. Now please add this to the collection, because we have a lot more to tell in the lives of Sal and Gemma Gabrini.

I read this book in 24 hours and it did not disappoint. The only problem I had was Gemma's interaction with her mother for her duplicity and how her daughter was taken away from her. She should have distanced herself from her mother so that she would understand the hurt that Gemma feels for the loss of her child. Anyway, I love the interactions and how Sal has always been the "man" and his support for Gemma! I am looking forward for more material from Mallory Monroe on the Gabrini and Sinatra family!

🥹🥴😵‍💫

I guess this one deals with the sins of the mother!!! Very hard to grasp at first that Gemma had a child so long ago!!! The story was strong and we'll put together in the beginning but, it seems that the author tried to hard to put such an extreme twist in the story that it lost quite a bit of is strength toward the end.
There were enough moving parts to begin with that the additional drama revealed towards the end was not necessary. IMO.

NICE!!! BUT GOOD!

The story was good. The plot was interesting. But the story was missing certain scenes for instance why was Lucky not introduced to Marie? What is ages of the children? if Marie left her adoptive parents house why they did not report her missing? Did she finish school? I believe I have 3 to 4 books to read. It is good series.

Hoping

This book and the series was fantastic! I thoroughly enjoyed each story and wish there was more. Sal and Gemma’s union was as intense as the other Gabrini relationships. I highly recommend that you take a moment to read.

Note: I read the paperback edition.
Another great read for me! Even though the title had me worried, the storyline kept me interested and Sal & Gemma did not disappoint me either! I’m behind in my reading about Reno’s fast growing kids, Dommi and Sophie but this didn’t spoil my reading of this book now… On to the next book‼️📚♥️👁👁♥️📚
