Rate this book
Tired of feeling so out of control around food? Your emptiness is undeniable. Deep down you’ve been craving a new relationship with food. One that doesn’t hurt. One that doesn’t leave you bloated, stuffed, and ashamed. One that doesn’t make you feel guilty about what you’re eating and cringe when you glance in a full-length mirror. Diets and weight loss programs haven’t filled this void. Intermittent fasting didn’t satisfy you. Avoiding sugar for thirty days didn’t leave you feeling content. You’re left exhausted and frustrated. You’re hungry; not necessarily for food, but for freedom, connection, and hope. Hungry reveals the real causes of your struggles with food that you haven’t been getting anywhere else. Hungry reminds you of a fundamental food and your body are allies, not enemies. Hungry will help you fill this void by discovering how to nourish your body and safely connect with your true self.

This book is so amazing, because it's the truth, and it's the key to eating the way we were always intended to. If you've ever struggled with your relationship with food, this is the book for you!

While the topic did not resonate nor speak to me, there were a lot of insightful moments provided within the text. So, I may not connect to the direct intention of the book, but I can and do connect with certain aspects of the raw, vulnerable truth between the covers. I applaud the author for her willingness to speak so candidly. Bravo to you, Tara Whitney.

Tara tackles a difficult subject with compassion and from personal experience. She also offers ongoing support through her group and personal coaching.

I have recently taken part in a two week online programwhere I had so many insights. One particular thing I noticed was how I had made certain foods "bad" and myself wrong for and whilst, consuming them.

That insight opened up a wide range of other, non food things I realized I was doing the same thing with. The result is a lot more self acceptance and compassion which has me feeling lighter and happier than ever.

Do yourself a favour and buy this book. Even if you don't think you have an issue with food, you will gain a great deal from this light yet powerful hearted look at the power food and beliefs around food has over all of us.

Or check Tara out online and work with this gorgeous woman directly.

If you’re working your way through the “anti-diet” literature, you’ll enjoy this book by Tara Whitney. The goal is to move your mind (and your actions) from the pervasive “diet mentality” that fills our society. Of course, at some point you have to stop reading and start doing. Whitney does offer practical exercises you can try out to accompany her more theoretical text. The bottom line is to stop comparing yourself to the artificial model of thinness that’s out there and learn what your body is wanting and needing. It’s also a quick read.

A great exploration of hunger and restriction, if you are binging you are looking in the wrong place, address your restriction not your binging

What I appreciated most about this book was how it did not provide yet another diet or quick fix solution for a complex problem. The solution lies within yourself and Tara guides you through your journey! A wonderful read for those ready for a change that will last!
