Make money. Save money. Get the hell out of New York. Those were her plans—until he destroyed her chances. Annabeth was a statistic. It was something she hated. She’d come from a foster home that had kicked her out as soon as she’d turned eighteen. She didn’t finish high school, but she did manage to get her G.E.D. She worked two jobs just to make ends meet. While her life was far from perfect, she felt like it was finally going the way she wanted, until Markus Conner crashed into her life. Being in the wrong place at the wrong time was always her luck. Now, it looked like her crappy luck had just gotten worse. Markus was not the man she needed to be involved with, and yet, he’s the only one that can keep her safe while also putting her in danger. She was standing in front of two paths. Markus would keep her safe. Markus would be the reason she falls. Which one will she choose?
Story was okay. I feel like this could have easily been a longer book to develop the story more. We know a bit about Anna but there is a whole backstory on Marcus we could have learned about. Natalie Wild has a good writing style and could definitely expand into longer length books, rather than just the shorter erotic romance. I can see so many possibilities for the story without all the erotic scenes. It is definitely a quick read and be prepared for the erotic scenes. Not the best I’ve read but not the worst either. Seems like Wild needs an editor/publisher to push her for more to the story. I may be in the minority but so much potential here for a good in depth story line. My review was from an ARC copy. Editing was decent. Handful of spelling/grammar errors but nothing huge. My recommendation to author would be to consider writing a linger book. Expand on the story - there is a sister and brothers I’d like to know more about. Who are the brothers? Who is Torrez? Give me more info and background on the other characters. Overall decent book.
I enjoyed the plot of this book. The characters could have been developed better. I kept waiting for more information on who murder Anna’s parents. Also, Markus acted more like a DEA agent than a mob enforcer. There were a lot of hot sex scenes that were R rated. I received an advance copy of this book and read it on my own.
I simply couldn’t put this book. It was so well written that you became completely immersed in the storyline. I was able to read this as I received an advanced readers copy. It definitely didn’t disappoint and I recommend it highly.
If you are looking for a dirty, Insta lust, Insta crazy, Insta love book.... you found it. Very quick read.... alot of sexy scenes.... if that is what you are looking for... look no further.
This was a really good story. My only problem was that it felt a little rushed at the end. Hopefully we will hear more about Markus's brothers and sister. It almost felt as though I was missing the beginning storyline.
