The story was okay until the ridiculous violence in the final chapters. I actually just skimmed the ending as it was so bleak. There are much better tellings of the Arthur legend by Jack Whyte and Bernard Cornwell. I frankly could not recommend this book based on the ending.

If you like the BBC show “Merlin” you will love this!
