I write stories about the apocalypse so that I don't need to work a real job. I grew up reading Stephen King and still haven't fully recovered. I'm currently ending the world in my new series Under the Breaking Sky.

Nick Clausen is a great writer, and like always, I really enjoyed this story.
This short story is about a woman who wakes up to the feeling that she's not alone. She searches her house, soon finding that her fears may indeed be true.
This was a great, quick read. I finished it in one go, and it flowed really well. The entire story has this slasher vibe to it that made it feel like a classic horror movie. I really loved that and was on the edge of my seat most of the time in anticipation of what would happen.
The main character was easy to relate to, especially with the conflicting voices in her head not helping the situation. I have a feeling I would react like that.
There is something of a twist in this story, and I think it was handled wonderfully. I wasn't expecting it at all, and I was pleasantly surprised.
This was a perfect little distraction from reality for me and well worth a read if you love slashers. Happy reading!
A solid, suspenseful short read with a wild twist. Maybeeeee I felt a lil personally victimized, but I also felt special as I love Nick Clausen's work.😂
I love Clausen’s work, and he’s just getting better and better. A fun horror short story, with a killer ending. I received a free copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.
Intruder by Nick Clausen is the type of tale that make me incredibly grateful that I have a security system at our house…
Full disclosure: I was given a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. This did not affect my rating in any way.
Okay, that cover is seriously spooky! And the tag line “TONIGHT LINDA DIES”?! I’m so in!
The story begins with poor Linda waking up on the couch. She senses that she’s not alone but tries to talk herself out of it. Then a news announcement comes on the TV of a man that escaped a psychiatric facility and is extremely volatile. As Linda goes to search the house, she realizes her initial thought was correct. Someone is in the house with her…
This story was incredibly eerie. The thought of someone breaking into my house is one of my biggest fears! The thoughts that we see going through Linda’s mind absolutely nail the anxiety-filled tension that I’ve felt quite a few times since buying our house. Luckily, we have an alarm system and I sleep much better now, but there’s always the “what if” thoughts that go through my mind…
AND THAT ENDING!
Right now, this tale is exclusive to Nick’s readers club, but keep an eye out for this one and snag it the second you can!
This was an excellent short read! Brilliant, what a great unexpected twist! Brilliant levels of tension & pace, high & very enjoyable excitement! So nice not to know where the story is going! Brilliant! I do recommend all I have read by this writer & will look for more by him! I do recommend!
The story follows a woman who becomes convinced there's an unwanted presence in her home, and Clausen expertly builds tension with every passing page. The mounting dread and uncertainty about whether the protagonist is truly in danger or simply imagining things creates an atmosphere thick with suspense. Clausen's writing style is taut and economical, never wasting a word as he ratchets up the tension.
