Nora Bowman’s love life just imploded. A road trip—not running away!—leads her to San Francisco and possibly the most beautiful man she’s ever seen in real life. And Nora saw all of him. Literally. Which is awkward, because he’s her new client. On the plus side, she’s discovered a new kink for tattooed bad boys. Who knew?
Tech millionaire Gabe Sterling has everything—but the one thing his money can’t buy is happiness. When he hires the latest in a long line of interior designers to remodel his secret hideaway, he never expects to fall for the designer’s quirky assistant. Gabe should be focusing on Sterling Enterprises’ ground-breaking new project, but Nora is driving him to distraction.
Will he choose the job and level up from millionaire to billionaire, or will Gabe choose a life with love-shy Nora…if, that is, he can convince her to take a chance on him.
Technically Mine is a fun, sexy story about finding your home—even if you have to run away from it first.
Not a HUGE fan of this cover. It is eye-catching and has great compsition but it is really not a good representation of the characters in the story.
I enjoyed this one A LOT. It was well written and nicely paced. It was super sweet. It had humor. It had two very likable main characters. It was almost a perfect read.
The only two things holding it back from being 5-Stars was there weren't any descriptive sex scenes. Gabe was a hot tattooed billionaire geek that wore glasses on occasion. Not having a hot specimen like that get his descriptive sexy on was a sadly missed opportunity. It also lacked an epilogue. I would have liked a further into the future look at these two as a couple.
Apart from those two small issues, this was a VERY enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours. Two thumbs up from your truly.
I don't know to explain this book, it was weird. It had some funny moments that I laughed out loud but all I could think about when I finish reading it was "did I really waste time reading this?
When I was reading the scene where the cheating bastard of her fiancé told her he was sleeping with his now wife i was getting mad on the heroine's behalf. I guess the heroine reacted calmly.. very mature then but I was so pissed that I wanted to be there so I could hit him with a damn bat!! Wtf this man was something else!!! Some cheating assholes have remorse this asshole thought he didn't do anything wrong and then out of nowhere the wife was siding with the heroine and hugging her, I was like "What the hell is going on?" This is just weird, the ow was acting like the heroine was her friend and the ex fiancé was acting like falling in love with another woman and cheating on his fiancé was nothing wrong. Even her mother was acting this way. What kind of mother invites her daughter's ex with his new wife to weekly dinners like she's not hurting her daughter's feelings? If my daughter tells me that her fiancé cheated on her you can be sure I won't invite him for dinner, oh ho nope!! The ass would get run over by a car or hit in the face with a bat that he would need plastic surgery or if I invite him for dinner I'll put rat's poison in his food. Yes i am that vicious when it comes to my daughters. I become a mama bear for them. Nobody messes with them and gets away with it.
I wanted the heroine to stand up for herself. For a 36 year old woman she acted like a child sometimes. Hero was a douche but turn out just ok. I think the only one who stole my heart was sunshine (the dog) and I related to the heroine when she started crying thinking her dog was going to die because I also think about that, my dog is only 3 years old but I cry when I think that I'm going to lose him.
Nora Bowman is a 36 year old woman who's love life blew up. After catching her fiance cheating, leaving her homeless, she decides to take a road trip where she lands in San Francisco. Now she's working for her talented cousin, when she meets the hottest man she's ever seen, and she learns that he's her new client as she literally sees all of him. Tech millionaire Gabe Sterling has everything money could buy, but money doesn't buy happiness. As he hires the very last hope of an interior designer to make his places warm and homey, he meets her assistant, who he never thought he would fall for. While he has literally thousands of people counting on him to finish the ground breaking project, he can't stop Nora from becoming a distraction, especially when he wants to convince her to take a chance on them. Technically Mine is a sweet story that I really enjoyed a lot. Nora's quirkiness was hilarious, and add in Gabe's mad genius level, well, they were very entertaining. Which led to some very perfectly placed humor that kept me laughing. Isabel North has a talented writing style that intrigues me, and kept me turning the pages while I finished it in one sitting. Nora was such a realistic character that marched to beat of her own drummer, which I couldn't get enough of. My issue was the ending that seemed a bit too rushed, as the push and pull was frustrating. With all of that being said, I will be reading more by this author in the near future, (Her cousin needs a story pretty please) and HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
The book was enjoyable to read. At first, I was worried I'll hate because of the first part - cheating which I hate the most. But yep, there a lot of funny scenes, and scenes of just making me smile. The characters were made mature enough to accept that there is actually a sexual chemistry between the moment they meant. There was this moment of denial but, of course, it's the way it is especially they're like so apart from each other. And for me that was acceptable. But whatever they had had flourish and development into something that meant to happen. Which favors me.
However, I was looking for something more. I feel like I don't know the characters in a deeper manner — I want their history known. Give me the details! Like, tell me something about the tattoos! His family! What problems occured when he got in top of his game? Or maybe about her life? Tell me about that very emotional characteristic. When did that start? How did that jerk of a fiancé of her did that, what was wrong with her? Yes, these were the loopholes for me. It's quite intruiging and bothering me.
This novel had me laughing constantly. The writing is witty, and if there are some RN cliches here, they are overshadowed by the humor. Graphic sex scenes were unnecessary to advance the plot, but again, what i'll remember most about this novel was how hard i laughed about things like the scene with dog clashing with the wall. The novels in this series following this one can't quite ever measure up, though, and it's all really downhill from here. so if you stopped reading after this novel, you'd end on a high note instead of the disappointed, wasted time feeling i had with the last novel in the series.
I wasn't familiar with this author when I read Artfully Yours. It was such a great story and fun book, I was excited to Technically Mine. Well color me impressed! This book was better than the first one! I laughed out loud though most of it! The characters are fun and quirky. Dealing with real situations and coming though the other side in love!
I enjoyed this book. I had a hard time setting it down. I am totally enjoying this series. The plots are filled with action. I am looking forward to reading more of this author's work.
This was a fun lighthearted story. She has a very engaging style of writing. Girl Power, pushing comfort zones, learning to grow. Quirky, witty, sweet and cute. There was plenty of heat, but left some to the imagination, with low angst, which I so appreciate.
Meant to be romance, but all I could grasp was a heroine who was spineless and was unable to stand up to her family and her ex and his ‘wife’. Took all the enjoyment out of the story. If you want a strong character this isn’t it.
Excellent companion book to Artfully Mine. Isabel North is on point with amazingly funny banter, crazy situations, sexy characters, and LOVE. It's so much fun to read her books!
Enjoyed Nora and Gabe's story. Gabe is a total Crack up so enjoyed reading about him.
This story flowed well and was a nice easy read. Thank goodness this book ended better than the first one!! I was a bit worried after the ending of book 1 but wanted to read about Gabe enough to risk buying this book. Pleasantly surprised.
I was so excited to read this book. The synopsis drew me in the first time I read it and I just knew I was going to enjoy it. Once I picked it up I couldn't put it down - I think I seriously read it straight for a few hours, with no stopping.
This book follows the story of Gabe & Nora - two individuals who have their own quirks that make them lovable. Neither one of them are sure they want to get involved with the other - for reasons either of work or of focus. But the chemistry between them is just something that they can ignore, and when they finally come together it couldn't be sweeter.
The way the author wrote the characters in this book, the reader couldn't wait to read how the end would come about. There were so many funny moments during this book that it should be qualified as a romantic comedy, but there was enough drama to balance it out; Nora has gone through enough pain with her ex that I can't blame her for wanting a fresh start - I'm sure I would too. Gabe was so sweet with her and I just kept hoping that the two of them would get over their hesitation about dating. The tension between them is very strong, from their very first meeting. The pacing was good - and the romance scenes weren't over the top descriptive so the heat level isn't too high (in case you're not into that!)
Technically Mine is one of the cutest, sweetest, books I have read. I loved every second of it.
The characters are so awkward, that it makes them endearing. Nora is running from her recent past and ends up in San Francisco. San Francisco leads her to her cousin and a new job and a chance at a fresh start. I loved Nora from the beginning. She is such a real character.
Gabe is a millionaire tech mogul. He is so smart but tends to be socially awkward. When he meets Nora their awkwardness comes together to create some memorable moments.
This is my first book by this author and I absolutely loved her writing style and the characters she created. I will definitely be reading more from her.
Isabel North is another new to me author but I loved her quirky, fast paced style. These characters, Nora and Gabe, were off-the-wall hilarious...I adored them! Nora reminded me of the often awkward but fabulous actress, Sandra Bullock. She was humorous and kooky and made me laugh because she felt so REAL. Gabe's character was contradictory in an enduring way. He was an eccentric and spoiled billionaire but also bizarrely sweet and thoughtful. Nora and Gabe fit together like a puzzle and I really enjoyed watching them find their way to each other! Told from dual POVs with a happy ending. I received, read and voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I absolutely loved this contemporary romantic comedy. From the very beginning until the very end I was hooked.
Nora, having recently had her relationship end very unexpectedly, decided a change of scene is needed. This lands her in San Francisco working as an assistant to her interior designer cousin. That job brings her face to face with Gabe. Gabe is undoubtedly the hottest guy Nora has ever seen, and she ends up seeing A LOT of him very early into their acquaintance. But he's a client and therefore off limits. To bad for her Gabe doesn't seem inclined to go along with that notion. Despite how inappropriate it would be for her to get involved with him, he is a big fan of being inappropriate.
Gabe was such an awesome leading man, I can't say enough about him. He's a totally different kind of alpha then what I'm used to and he takes intense to a whole new level. But the way he is when it comes to Nora was so endearing and I just loved him right away.
Nora was just fun. I liked the way she thought. I liked how old school she was about certain things. I loved her reactions to Gabe. All of it was just such a pleasure to read.
This story was very well told and has me interested in checking out other books by this author. But I loved the comedy and the slow build feel of this one. I highly recommend it.
An amazing short book. Gave and Nora meet under some funny circumstances. Funny, crazy and a whole lot of sweet. This is a great book to clear your mind. The story is great and the characters are amazing. Loved the humor and glimpses of sexiness between the characters . 4.5/5 stars A T&A Book Blog
