Wow! I think I have bitten all of my nails while reading this suspenseful thriller.

Covert Complications by Nicole Helm is the second book in the series Badland Cops. The series focuses on 5 brothers (Wyatt) who have escaped their father’s ruthless gang called Sons of Badland. Cody has been with a secretive group who have targeted the Sons of Badlands, however once his father was put into prison, Cody’s task was completed. He is searching for what is next when a surprise shows up.
Nina left without a backward look. She knew her one and only job was to run from Cody’s father and keep her baby safe. She never looked back and never told Cody, he was a father. Everything changed though when a man broke into her house and tried to kill her and her daughter. She immediately went to the ranch for help. She needed the Wyatt’s to help take care of her little girl. She was the next target for Ace Wyatt, Cody’s father and the head of the Sons of Badlands. Cody and Nina are on the run to pull out whoever is trying to kill Nina and Brianna.
Nina and Cody are good together and I found myself really cheering them on. I love how Nina managed to introduce her family to Brianna, even though they were not nearby. Cody’s response to being a father made the story convincingly real. Covert Complications by Nicole Helm was a great read.

I love the Wyatt family and Cover Complication didn't disappoint in bringing them all back together in their eternal fight to bring down the patriarch of the family, Ace Wyatt. It was Cody who put his father away in the first book, but now he regrets not having killed him when he had the chance.
When his old flame, Nina, rides back into his life, in the back of an ambulance, she brings a little girl with her, Brianna, and none of it makes sense to the stoic Cody. He was still angry with Nina for walking away from him seven years ago and he has no intention of forgiving her now. Until she divulges her secrets and reveals a few of Ace's Cody didn't know about.
Ace might be behind bars, but someone is still pulling the strings for him in the Sons of the Badland gang. It's up to Cody and Nina to figure out if they're going to protect what Ace wants most of all. Brianna.
They don't have to do it alone, though, and with the help of the entire Wyatt, and Duke, family, they just might walk away from this complication with their lives.
If you're looking for a fast-paced, action-packed series, you definitely want to check out The Badland Cops series!

This series is proving to be fascinating. Its a battle of good verses evil. The evil being a parent. The strength of Cody Wyatt you see as the story develops. Especially when he sees his old love Nina Oaks. There is alot of action in this series as well as surprises. Its fast paced and shows the strength of Cody when he is faced with a very big challenges. Nina shows her strength in her feelings for Cody and a surprise she has. This is a great second chance love that is worth reading. Nicole does a excellent job of drawing you into the story and keeping you there. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series. To see who is next of the brothers.

This story centers around a woman named Nina Oaks. She tried to forget Agent Cody Wyatt. However her feelings come flooding back the moment she sees his face again. Now she’s in danger and so is Cody’s daughter who Cody doesn’t know about. She has to go back to him and his brothers. Cody decides that he will do anything to protect them both. He has to confront the most dangerous man in the badlands. This was a good mystery behind who wanted to hurt Nina and her young daughter but I didn’t feel that this was a romance in my opinion.
