Definitely a small audience book, for the John Gardner afficianado. Excellently written, and less dry and contained than most literary literature. Very valuable in that it spans the entire writings, also good for the one or two main big books you might be about to re-read. Unfortunately, expensive and hard to find -- hit the library.
