I have it all… Money, cars, women and my ranch in the mountains. The last thing I want is a complicated woman I’d have to write a hefty check to just to get her attention.
Then the spicy little veterinarian shows up on my ranch with an attitude bigger than she is and a body I want to claim.
I didn’t know what I was missing until I had her in my bed.
Only, she’s determined not to fall for me.
I’ll do whatever it takes to prove to her I’m the man she wants… the man she needs.
Even if that means ruining every other man for her… including my own ranch hand.
She thinks I’m going to walk away?
Not happening. She’s mine… Forever.
This is book one in the Mountain Ridge series. It can be read as a complete standalone and contains NO cliffhanger, NO cheating, and a HEA.
Alexis Winter is a contemporary romance author who loves to share her steamy stories with the world. She specializes in sexy billionaires, cocky alphas, brooding bad boys and the women they love.
If you love to curl up with a good romance book you will certainly enjoy her work. Whether it's a story about an innocent young woman learning about the world or a sassy and fierce heroine who knows what she wants you're sure to enjoy the happily ever afters she provides.
When Alexis isn't writing away furiously, you can find her exploring the Rocky Mountains, traveling, enjoying a glass of wine or petting a cat.
This book started fun and exciting. It was good how she went on dates and stuff before the author introduced the main guy. It was well written and detailed. Quick read, comfortable story.
The parts where I disliked was when Vesper started acting kind of desperate towards Liam. How she tried to figure what his very actions meant even though she was the one running from any relationship. It was the opposite of what she tried to convince herself, that she needed to focus on her dream and not on Liam. But her actions showed otherwise while she kept searching him and asking for answers.
But anyway, I enjoyed reading it. It’s good and funny. Liked her family and Amy. Wish it would have a book about Amy and maybe a possibility of a relationship with Tyler. He was a good guy.
I really enjoyed reading this story about Liam and Ves. It kept me awake late just because I wanted to read it till the end in one sitting. It is a well written and it has easy flow while reading. Characters are well built and likeable. It is a good contemporary and sexy story about one billionaire and a modern vet that will fall in love. How the story goes, you will have to read it by yourself, I don't have a wish to spoil your reading experience.
The story line was good. The characters were great. All the secondary characters, best friend, parents were awesome (if you can sense a BUT coming ,then you'll be right) BUT there was something missing. I wasn't able to feel the deep connection with the characters. Like i can not visualize and feel what they are feeling.
I started liking it after around 50%. That doesn't mean there were not some sweet moments. Liam was the sweetheart.
"I told you I wanted you by my side every single day. I love you, Vesper. And I want to move forward. I want a real relationship with you. I want to meet your family. I want to be called your boyfriend until the day I slip that engagement ring onto your finger."
I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review

Five-star book. I loved it. Liam gave me goosebumps. Vesper is a veterinarian in a small town. Liam is the wealthy ranch owner as well as an oil company CEO. Ves is treating a pregnant horse on his ranch. When she meets Liam, she is smitten. Her dream is to own and operate veterinarian clinics all over the state. He takes a special interest in Ves but she has doubts about his sincerity. In fact, she does not think she can accomplish her dream and have Liam too. After all, why would a man like Liam want a small town veterinarian like her? You must read their story to discover the answer.
Liam is a mysterious billionaire who owns a ranch., Vesper is a sassy veterinarian who was hired to come out to his ranch.
Instant chemistry and attraction. Liam has everything he an ever want, or so he thought; now he wants Vesper. Vesper is determine to establish her practice and nothing will get in her way or so she thinks.
I love the attraction between the two. I couldn't put the book down once I started reading! I can't wait to see what else Alexis brings!

I really liked the premise of this story as it seemed fun and an easy read.
Before I give you my review I want to acknowledge that the writing and the secondary characters was really good in this book. The story was well written but...........
It started off okay and I was being pulled into the story......... and then Vesper's character changed! She became this needy desperate woman all of a sudden towards Liam where she is asking him to stay and kiss her, where did the independent woman go?, that wanted to build up her business and make it successful? The woman that told sweet cute Tyler that she did not have time for a relationship!
The author tried to make Vesper's character be this cute, funny, ambitious, likable, mata hari type woman( who did not want to take a pay check because it was too much!!!) but she fell short as all Vesper appeared to be to me was naive and a wee bit stupid thrown in.
I like honesty in my books which I got but there was no connection between the main characters. There was more spark between Tyler and Vesper!
I felt that Vesper did all the chasing in this book and Liam was just there. Liam was no Alpha, I felt Tyler would have been a better hero in this story.
Sometimes you’re just in the mood for the “guilty pleasure” that a book starring a hunky alpha billionaire can bring. If this is such a time for you then Alexis Winter’s Liam: An Alpha Billionaire Romance (Mountain Ridge Alphas Book 1) is just the right book for you. Vesper and Liam’s story is total (well written) yummyness. See the publisher’s blurb for all you need to know about this one. If it’s even vaguely appealing to you then I can guarantee you’ll love the novel. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.
Vesper, a tenacious 26 year old veterinarian is achieving her goals with her own clinic and with plans to open more statewide when she meets Tyler, who is in charge of the ranch where she is treating a pregnant horse. Tyler is mesmerized by this strong, beautiful woman and is pursuing her with gusto. She sets him straight that she has no time for a relationship, and then meets his handsome, wealthy boss, Liam and her world is turned upside down. He’s been in a dead end relationship and is looking for more. When Ves and Liam are together, their sexual chemistry is off the charts. There are few surprises in this storyline, but when love blossoms, can Vesper manage to realize that it is possible to achieve your goals and love before it is too late? A sweet summer romance read.
What an incredible storyline created by Ms. Winter. I was completely and utterly absorbed in this addictive book, from cover to cover. In this heartbreakingly beautiful publication, Liam; Liam and Vesper are the absolute best main characters and this romance is packed with very realistically written sceneries, amazing secondary characters as well as a storyline that will break your heart and then mend it together again... Perfectly. Liam is definitely a must-read release from a superbly talented Author who has set the bar high for others Authors.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Liam in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion. I was recommending it before I was even a third of the way through. I loved it.
I received this book from Booksprout and l am volunteering to leave this review.
This is a romance book about a Billionaire Ranch owner Liam and a Vet Vesper who has no intentions of falling in love until her dream of owning a chain of Vet clinics. They meet and feel the chemistry. He has a clingy ex-girlfriend and she has his ranch hand chasing after her.
This was a well written book, the character of Vesper was hard to take at times and Liam who was a Billionaire was not an Alpha in my eyes. It was enjoyable to read.
I don’t understand how this book got so many stars. First of all the description is so inaccurate. It’s not from both POV, just hers & she is the most irritating chic ever. She doesn’t want a relationship with anyone & hurts a nice guy but when $ guy comes along it’s all good. Also he is no alpha!!!! He almost as much of a wimp as she is. Hated this book. Waste of my time. Don’t waste yours.
Nice storyline and plot. Would have liked more accurate blurb and more depth to the story. Not only from one POV. She is not my cup of tea because she annoys me very much at times. I would have liked her to be more openminded towards others. Not have so many prejudice against others. He could have been more alpha. But the ending is well layed out in the story and that made it better. Enjoyable read all in all.
As always with miss Winter's books, this one is very well written, with very interesting characters that go through sometimes wild situations and feeling wild emotions.
The story is strongly built, with the good amount of chemistry, a bit of drama and a leading character that's willing to do everything he need to get his girl; it also has great secondary characters; I really liked Tyler and Amy ;)
Really good book; will surely read the rest of the series :)
It was a good read and story plan. I liked the characters and the secondary characters. For me, I needed to have more of a connection between Ves and Liam. I did eventually feel that but it was later on in the book so it makes it hard to connect then when I didn’t feel the base connection in the beginning. Overall it was a good and sweet read.
A good quick read. Loved the dynamics played out by the three main characters. A HEA that might not have happened. Definitely recommend this book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Liam wants Vesper, Vesper doesn't think she has time for a relationship. Can Liam change Vesper mind ? I enjoyed the story and the characters were interesting. I got this book free for a honest review. I would recommend this book to others.
I love how Ves is determined to achieve her dreams. She just needed to learn balance. Liam was just the one for her. Wonderful book. Really enjoyed the characters
Story is good but there's some editing issues. In spite of that, I still liked the book. Read it in one sitting, so good if you're looking for something new and fast.
I really, really loved this book. It is different than some romances. In this story, the heroine, Vesper/Ves, is a self-made woman. She is a veterinarian, opened her own clinic and dreams of expanding her business. Our hero, Liam O'Connor is a billionaire oil tycoon. He inherited his maternal grandfather's ranch in Colorado. He has Tyler working the ranch full time while he is in California working at his oil company. Liam was born into money, and inherited more than that. At one point, Liam was playing fast and loose with women. But, when he met Ves, he began to realize that he wanted her and more. What I liked about this book is that it deals with the emotions of Ves and Liam. Ves does not want to get hurt, she does not want to be in a relationship, she wants to put her business first. She likes what she has with Liam but nothing more. After several months, Ves thinks everything is going fine, then Liam asks her to move in with him and he tells her that he wants to be with her every day. Ves is stunned and does not know what to say. Liam's feelings are out in the open. Liam is extremely vulnerable and sensitive to and about Ves. Ves on the other hand is struggling with her perception of what her life should be like. She is confused about what she really feels for Liam. When crunch time comes unexpectedly for Ves, she finally realizes what is most important to her. But around the corner tragedy strikes. This is a must read and I highly recommend it.
