Policy: Don't sleep with your brother's secretary.
Problem: Deacon Collins is a wealthy playboy and does what he pleases.
It started out innocent.
He yanked her into the supply closet and lost his briefs. Not the legal kind.
Now, he wants more.
More of her soft curves and sweet mouth.
More than just quickies against a cabinet.
Quinn can throw the flowers he sends in the trash and hide behind company policy all she wants.
At the end of the day...
He will have her.
If you love wealthy, possessive alpha males and strong heroines, this series is for YOU!
Possessive Playboy is the second book in the Cocky Suits Chicago series, but they can be read in any order. It's a full-length standalone romance novel with a Happily Ever After.
Sloane Howell lives in the Midwest United States and writes hot romance stories. A former college baseball player turned author, when not reading or writing he enjoys hanging out with his family, watching sports, playing with the dogs, traveling, and engaging his readers on social media. You can almost always catch him goofing off on Facebook or Twitter and trying to convince Mrs. Howell that it is "work"
Okay you guys … pay attention now … this book is fanfuckingtastic in every possible way, it's an explosive 5+++ stars (okay so there’s like this minor thing that’s been driving me crazy but let’s not digress)!!
The story takes off from page one and does not stop until the end. There isn’t a single moment in this story where you think eh, I’ll finish later. NONE, #trust
It’s also deceiving as hell because you think you’re going to get this sexually driven plot but oh no no these two authors are sneeeeeaky! I’m reading along (changing my panties every chapter) and them BAM I’m changing my panties and grabbing a Costco bundle of Kleenex!! This is the part I need you to pay attention to because I’m not going to give you plot points but I am going to tell you something crucial … there is more to Deacon than meets the eye. WAY more. There is more to this story than meets the eye. WAY more. And he and the story unfold spectacularly!
I wish I could tell you guys all the greatness that is within these pages without spoiling it for you, but it is impossible. Seriously, this is a huge package of greatness. Deacon and Quinn are both superb characters with realistic growth and development as the story progressed. I read this a week ago and I already want to go back and read it again. The things these authors did in character development and story development are ambitious and bold and I couldn’t be prouder!
I cannot wait to devour every single word these guys decide to publish in the future!
It started with a bang! Literally. Howell and Wolf waste no time getting this story going. From the first sentence, readers are propelled deep into the characters. I love how it immediately pulls you in. Deacon and Quinn are at the heart of this office romance. While it is a steamy read, it still had a lot of depth. The banter between brothers is hilarious. Quinn’s dad immediately stole my heart. The pacing and flow were perfect. I do wish I would have read the first book in the series first, though this book can stand alone. I was intrigued enough by the characters to want more, so I plan to start Cocky Playboy immediately!
All in all, Possessive Playboy is a seriously steamy read that delivers much more than just heat. I recommend this story to anyone looking for a sexy, quick read. This was my first read by Howell or Wolf, but I will definitely check out more from each of them. I especially look forward to more in this series!
This is the second book in the Cocky Suits Chicago series and the second book that I have read from this duo. I loved it as much as the first book. This is the story of Deacon (Decker’s brother) and Quinn (Decker’s assistant). The chemistry between Deacon and Quinn was so good. I loved his alpha male attitude. Just like the first book, I read this in one sitting and I can’t wait to read it again. This will definitely be a reread in the near future.
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
"'You have to break down the romance into its basic structure. There’s the meet-cute in the beginning. You know? Some over-the-top way in which the two people bump into each other that’s a nearly impossible coincidence. Then they date for a while. That’s when the first problem comes in. Something to throw a wrench into their lives to push them apart. They come back together. Another bigger problem pushes them apart. This repeats, amplifying in intensity, until the epic conflict arises, usually where the man does some shit that seems unforgivable in the audience’s eyes. Because the target audience is female, the guy has to be the problem. It’s like a law of romance. He has to get on his knees and grovel to win her back. Women go insane for it.” He pokes me with a finger. 'And that's where you are right now.'" - Dexter (One of the main characters' brothers.
I wish I had the luxury of time to highlight all of the interesting ideas and thematic flourishes found in this light-hearted and super hot and sexy romance. For example, The previous quote made me smile because the authors actually touted the formula for writing a story of romance for primarily a female audience. And it is true that these basic elements exist in some form from the simplest to the mind-boggling and/or twisted complex tale of people falling in love. Naturally, any romance tale can be written appeal to any audience, culture or subculture or all of them.
I am unashamed of my love for romance from the ancient classics and myths, world literature, movies and films... modern day tropes in books etc... I was born a romantic and I never have known myself to be anything other than a lover of "loves" and simply "love" itself.
When I find a romance written as well as this one, it's a good thing. I value good things. I enjoyed the tension created between the hero and heroine and among the secondary characters. I cheered on the good-hearted strong and loving heroine who learned to forgive and trust. I sighed over the "Playboy" hero who finally recognized how utterly and completely in love he was.
Another new dimension to the hero of this book is that he physically cried. It's surprising that the authors of this series are male and their hero cried. I rarely encounter in my romance reading (primarily written by female authors) a possessive, Dominant, Alpha male who physically sheds a tear. I'm still contemplating what these phenomena mean.
These two authors working together are somehow great at this genre...they seem to be progressing in their skill which is creating an "angsty" romance because of a good and believable storyline. Tension arises between the hero and heroine from credible circumstances. The characters are passionate and develop over time. The "hot stuff" is just that..."hot".
This is the second book in the series of engaging and well-written romance centering around a group of bachelor brothers who are attorneys in their own law firm. The books are reasonably priced and an overall great value for your entertainment pleasure.
When we met Deacon in the first book I never expected to like him as much as I did his brother but damn, this book just knocked me for six. This book kicked off in style and had me hooked because DAMN, it’s so HOT!
Deacon is slightly immature, always messing around, pranking people and not taking things seriously but the one thing he does take seriously can’t take him seriously In return. He comes across as a playboy and that’s what how the office knows him but underneath all of that is a sensitive man that’ll do anything to keep the one thing he loves most and we get to see exactly that throughout this book. He’s charming and fun and sometimes an asshole.
Quinn, oh this woman is amazing! She’s strong and determined and absolutely lovely. She takes care of her dad whilst working and going to school, she juggles everything well and barely has time to herself except when it comes to office break time when Deacon is around.
These two are so intense. Their chemistry, their everything is so damn hot and has you needing a cold ass shower
and let’s not forget to mention the secondary characters, we get a little from the characters from the first book and some from Deacon’s twin. I love these brothers and I can’t wait for more.
Oh I have to mention the fact two of my favourites from shows get a mention in this beauty. The Undertaker (a legend) and Gibbs (also a legend) what a pleasant surprise they were, they just made the book even more amazing!
I’m so so pleased to have been given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I loved every second of reading it. Sloane and Alex did amazing!
Possessive Playboy is a steamy romance that packs more than just hot moments, it’s fun and an absolute pleasure to read. One of the bests of 2019.
Possessive Playboy is a backwards equation of a forbidden office fling turned into a true romance.
You'll love this guy...
he's persistant and determined cocky alpha and he knows there's more to just having a hawt steamy sex hiding in the office closet with his brother's assistant Quinn.
She's actually fine with the state of things as they are now - "no strings attached" BUT this possessive man has his own idea of how to keep a keeper - and Quinn, his queen is just that - HIS and a keeper.
He just needs to make her see that.
I loved these two...I did think there were some intense situations that weren't handled by the H in the most "grown-up" way and that kinda smudged my initial impression of him BUT inspite of that, I liked their story. *wink*
I love the first book but I love this one more!!! Deacon and Quinn were perfect for each other. If you think this is just a smutty read, you’re wrong. It has all the feels, romance and steamy sex. I love how alpha and possessive Deacon is but could still admit and apologise if he’s wrong. I love that he pursues her and never wavering from his goal to make her his. I love Quinn but I adore Deacon, he is my latest book boyfriend!!!
This started out with casual sex in the closet! I usually like a build up, but this worked for me. One wanted more than the other and had to do a lot of chasing which made this story a fun read. I really liked Quinn, she had a lot on her plate. Very compassionate. Nothing new here but an enjoyable read.
Decker who? Move over because there is a bigger and better Collins man on the horizon. And one that I wasn't sure if i was going to like or not.
Possessive Playboy started with a bang, and held me captive to the story right to the end.
Deacon and Quinn's story is hot and sexy, but it is more than just sex. The character development, especially in Deacon, is fantastic. You can't help but love the guy and feel for the guy as the story progresses.
Wolf and Sloane write so well together, that you don't know when one ends and the other begins. The story flows seamlessly and I found myself impatient to turn the next page, needing to know what would happen next.
I am looking forward to more of the Cocky Suits Chicago series.
I never expected Deacon to become my favourite out of the Collins brothers but I think that’s what’s just happened.
Deacon comes across as a bit of a player. He doesn’t take things too seriously, he can be a little immature and petty (especially when it comes to Tate which I actually liked. It made a change from the usual everyone loves their siblings partner and gets along all the time thing that I see so often in books), he’s got his faults but there’s something about him that I really liked from the start. He’s fun and flirty, he’s surprisingly sweet and the way he is with Quinn’s dad...*insert all the swoons here*. He’s determined to show Quinn they can be so much more outside of the supply closet but Quinn isn’t having any of it. She knows he’s a player, that once he’s had his fill he’ll move on. She’s got too much going on, work, school, looking after her dad. The excuses are endless but Deacon is the kind of guy who goes after what he wants and that’s Quinn....he just needs to convince her.
I loved Cocky Playboy but Possessive Playboy was even better (in my opinion). I didn’t put this book down once. The story, the banter and humour, the chemistry between the characters, are all perfect. The writing and flow are flawless (I still have no idea which author wrote what parts, it’s a game I play when a book is co written but this ones giving no clues away). There was something about Quinn and Deacon that sucked me in and had me wanting more. I’m loving the Cocky Suits Chicago series and I can’t wait to get the other brothers stories. Another fantastic book from these two authors.
This is book 2 in the Cocky Suits Series and I have to tell you I LOVE these two amazing authors writing together.
The pages flow flawlessly, the characters are witty, funny, and sweet. You can feel the words and emotions and the cunning comments and the possessiveness and heart that they express!
Deacon is not the typical guy one would fall for he’s full of arrogance and knows that he can have anyone in the world, always messing things up and never taking anyone serious.
Quinn is deacons brothers assistant at the law firm and ever since she started working there Deacon hasn’t been able to take his eyes off her.
Could this be a match made in heaven Or an epic disaster?
You’ll have to read this to find out!!!!
I give this book 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I’d give it 500 if I could.
Alex Wolf, Sloane Howell PHENOMENAL READ!!!! ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. 🥰😍🔥🥰🔥😍🥰
Oh how I loved this story. Book 1 was good...this one was GREAT. Nothing beats a secret, supply closet affair. And this one is done so very well. Let's keep it casual. I don't have time for more. I have responsibilities, I have secrets (well, I just don't open up to everyone). I do my job, I do it well and I can't lose this job. I don't DO permanent, I don't do relationships. This story has it all. I has ballbuster Tate in the thick of things (which I TRULY love) and it has some of the best, and I do mean best, groveling ever. Deacon may be a playboy...but when he falls, he falls hard and nothing can stop him...except maybe his own immaturity. These two are fun and explosive and super steamy too.
4.5 Deacon and Quinn’s office romance started out full force and I was dying to hear their story, their book is filled with lust building to so much more and we’re along for the ride on a non stop page turner adventure. I was pleasantly surprised with Deacon, the first impression I got of him was COMPLETELY different from the man we learn about especially sharing in the dual POV throughout this book. When the pace picks up I couldn’t put my kindle down and was itching to see what was going to happen next. A great read and I’m rather curious about what’s to come next for this author collaboration duo.
I received an advanced copy for an honest review. First, I wasn’t sure I was going to like Deacon. But wow, did the character development make him grow on me. Also, I have never wanted to have an encounter in an office supply closet until now! Quinn, I admired her from the start. Their chemistry is So hot. I felt like she really got to the heart of deacon. I can’t wait for the next COCKY Suits book!!
I am absolutely loving the dialogue between the primary and secondary characters. The Collin brothers had my attention right from the In the first book, Cocky Playboy, and I was so looking forward to Deacon’s story. The slayed with the heroine yet again, they slayed the steamy scenes all tied together for one awesome office romance read!
Alex and Sloane are two already incredibly talented authors but, when you combine them together, you get an explosive duo. I loved the interaction between Deacon and Quinn. This book was really well written. You can't tell where Alex stops and where Sloane begins. They just write so well together.
What a fun, sweet, and fantastic read. Deacon and Quinn are such a delightful couple. I absolutely had an amazing time reading this. This is a journey you can go on again and again with them. The writing and flow of this book is perfect. I absolutely recommend this book.
The Collins men are back, and this time it is Deacon's story. If you are looking for a slow burn, this isn't it. The authors waste no time in bringing the heat. And there is a lot of it. In the closet. On the desk. You get the idea. Yes, Deacon and the woman who is driving him wild, Quinn, take huge chances in satisfying their cravings for one another, while at the workplace.
This story felt like a romance story in reverse. The passion is obviously there, but can Deacon convince Quinn that he should be more? That's the overall plot of this entertaining workplace romance.
"You're everything to me." What the hell was that. After a few seconds, he straightens up and his breathing returns to normal. "Fuck, I was good, wasn't I?" That's more like him.
I'll be honest, it took me a while to warm up to this Collins brother. He seems careless in his work and lacks the commitment his brother, Decker, has for delivering the best to their clients. Instead, Deacon is 100% focused on winning over Quinn, which is surprisingly difficult.
With time, through his actions in taking care of Quinn and her Dad, Deacon won me over. He truly goes above and beyond to show her that she means more than a silly office fling. Of course, he manages to put his foot in his mouth a couple times, which backfires spectacularly, but I think he does a good job to make up for his mistakes.
"But nothing has changed. I will have you."
If you are looking for a fun workplace romance, with a lot of heat, and a little sweet, check this out.
This is no ordinary romance book, It’s so hot I’m surprised the steam wasn’t rising from the pages.
Alex Wolf and Sloane Howell are absolute dynamite together this series is one of the best series I’ve read and every book just keeps getting better.
Deacon has always been the clown of the family that is also a huge playboy, he has this hard shell and cocky attitude that turns out to be just one of his layers because this man surprised me so many times throughout this book. The true Deacon was so far from what I expected but exactly what I wanted for Quinn.
Quinn was as amazing of a character I expected but her struggle with balancing her personal life has her carrying guilt that is so unwarranted I wanted to hug her so many times because she was just such a loveable person but not once did this stop her having a back bone! She may have been soft and sweet but that didn’t make her a push over which only made me admire her more.
As with book 1 although this book is Deacon and Quinn’s story I love that the rest of the characters played a big role especially Quinn’s dad who was a real spit fire, you could definitely tell where Quinn got her passion in life.
I’m counting down the days already for the next book in this series I can’t get enough of these amazing authors words!
4.5 Star Review Possessive Playboy (Cocky Suits #2) by Sloane Howell and Alex Wolf
This is the second book that I have read by Sloane Howell and Alex Wolf and Possessive Playboy was just as enjoyable as their first collaboration Cocky Playboy. Deacon is a playboy and yet there is so much more to him than you would expect and I really loved Quinn, she was someone I found easy to relate to and would love to have as a friend. She was a strong and determined woman who was the perfect match for Deacon. Deacon and Quinn , the chemistry between the two was intense and the sparks that flew between them burned up the pages. This was a book that I quickly became invested in and I had a hard time putting down. Although not a particularly long read the authors managed to pack a lot in. This was not only a steamy story but it had more emotion. The secondary characters were just as entertaining as the main and I loved the interactions with Quinn’s father. He really added an additional depth to the story line. I have no idea where one author stopped and the other took over, such was the flow of the writing.

I didn’t mind this at all.
I’ve been super busy so the fact that this took me so long to read is crazy, but I’m done before the release date! So I think I’m good haha
Loved Quinn! She’s a great character and her development was done very well. Deacons character was done well too, but for some reason I felt like there were instances that his character was different than other things he’d do or say. I don’t know how these authors co-wrote, but i can tell that this book was written by two people. Very similar writing, but has some differences that were noticeable to me. Not bad! Just wanted to express what I thought while reading.
I personally thought the first one in this series was better overall. I love the possessiveness in this one though. But overall I thought the book was done very well.
Thanks Sloane for the ARC! I’m always up for reading and reviewing😊
4.0 star rating.

WOW Sloane & Alex what can I say Banging good intro !
Move over Decker , Deacon is here and he surely made an impression . I absolutely loved Deacon and Quinn’s story .
Quinn is thinking Deacon is just all about stupid antics and quickies in the office , Deacon on the other hand has other ideas in mind you can’t help but fall in love with him through this book he’s very cocky yet mega sweet he wants more he keeps trying everything he possibly can to prove to her he really likes her , and Quinn keeps fighting it eventually he wears her down and she gives in to him , I loved the banter between everyone between the brothers , and Quinn and her dad is a lovely touch to the story also.
I had a sleepless night when I received this book because I was hooked from the start ! well done guys on another great one :)

Possessive Playboy - Sloane Howell & Alex Wolfe ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What a writing combination is Howell & Wolfe?
Well this second book in the Cocky Suits series is testament to their flawless melding of their writing.
They’ve created a series of wonderfully crafted characters and given them some truly brilliant lives and stories.
Book two leads us further into the world of the Collins brothers with the focus being on Deacon and Quinn. These two have such brilliant chemistry, with Quinn’s sass just egging Deacon on and creating this wonderfully misaligned match that must be ignited at every opportunity. Some serious closet action and some really dumb moves by Deacon just make you love his character.
These Collins brothers have certainly pushed their way into my 2019 favourites list and I can’t wait to read more from this talented writing duo.
Frickin brilliant book - it had everything I wanted it to have. A sexy hot alpha? Check. A sassy and smart heroine? Check. Ridiculous chemistry? Check check and CHECK.
I loved the way she kept fighting her feelings and how much he was pushing her for her to finally admit she wanted him just as much as he wanted her. All the secrets and the drama had me bitting my nails because there was a few times where I thought they would not make it. My heart was singing when they finally put behind them and embraced their HEA.
I'm so happy I was recommended this book because it would be a travesty if I had not read it.

This is the first book I read from Alex wolf and I loved it. I didn’t know what to expect so I went in with an open mind. It is a happy book with some drama at the law firm. It is witty and funny and steaming hot scenes. Deacon is a real play boy but when he sees Quinn he is lost. But she has difficulties believing him. The characters in this story are wonderful and I have the feeling that I want to be there with them. I recommend reading this book
This was a book that I could not put down. It's about Deacon (brother to Decker) Collins from Cocky Playboy and Quinn, Deckers' assistant. The characters are the same but a different twosome going on. The merge is complete and Deacon still doesn't like Tate, so that hasn't changed. But he has decided that Quinn will be his. But Quinn has a secret that she hasn't told anyone at work. Lots of sneaking around sexy time. A great read.
It's starts off, with a bang like literally, it was hard and fast an so God dam hot I supprised the supplies did melt, I love how possessive Deacon was it was sweet and adorable in a I'm gonna steal your panties kinda way. Once again so glad to here it confirmed that Die Hard is indeed the best Christmas Movie of all time, yes I'm that kinda girl, and this was my kinda book.
I really enjoyed Cocky Playboy, but this one is so much fun. I love the interaction with Quinn’s Dad it was heart warming. The sex was so hot and so emotional not a usual combination from a man’s perspective but it was great. I thought Tate got the short end of the stick but perhaps the authors will go easier on her in Dexter’s story? If you want a feel good book with some steam this is it.
