Warning: This title contains graphic content of an adult nature.

It has been 8 months since Max and Helena's ritual to awaken The Great Old One and, around the house, things have started to get "insane" as the re-birth edges ever closer. Helena has been kept in a secure room with walls lined of lead, to stop an unexpected madness creeping through to those who happen to pass her room. Max has been keeping himself busy with new, dark hobbies which were okayed by his loving and loyal wife when it was obvious he couldn't touch her until The Great Old One was out of her. As the two prepare for His awakening, they realise that no one will be immune to the ensuing insanity but, unlike the rest of the world, they're ready to make the ultimate sacrifice for Him to rise again and claim his rightful position as "God".

Biography

MATT SHAW was born, quite by accident (his mother tripped, he shot out) September 30th 1980 in Winchester hospital where he was immediately placed on the baby ward and EBay. Some twelve years later (wandering the corridors of the hospital and playing with road kill when he was on day release), the listing closed and he remained unsold, he was booted out of the hospital to start his life as a writer and hobbit – beginning with writing screenplays and short stories for his own amusement before finally getting published when he was twenty-seven years and forty-five seconds old.

Once Published weekly in a lad's magazine with his photography work, Matt Shaw is also a published author and cartoonist. Has to be said, can be a bit of a flirt and definitely, without a shadow of a doubt, somewhat of a klutz.

She would be the Mother to The Old Great One. Whether he wanted to or not, he would be the father and the people of the world would soon know their own place in the food chain, serving Her Son.

Part two was kind of confusing. It was almost impossible to tell what was happening and what was in their mad heads.
But I get it.
It moved the story forward ( somewhat).
There's only one book left in the series and I will read it in hopes of some kind of grand finale

Octopus 2 begins eight months after the events of the first book. An insane Helena is pregnant with the reincarnation of the Great Old One, and an insane Max continues to organize the show. As the pregnancy comes to its end, the hallucinations and madness increase, and it becomes increasingly difficult to tell reality from fantasy from nightmare. Spoiler alert:

Quick read

Book continues where it left off Helena pregnant with the great one Cthulu. This book was I believe better than the first one.

Continuing on 8 months after events in the first book, Octopus 2 picks up the story with Helena very close to finally giving birth to the the Elder God she’s playing host to, whilst driving everyone all around her to the very brink of madness thanks to the influence her unborn child appears to have over others.
Her husband, Max is doing his level best to try and keep everything under control, but as the madness slowly spreads to him too so too does his doubts.
Are they truly doing the right thing?
Or have they both made a mistake?
And is it already too late?
This is a great, equally shocking sequel and every bit as dark as the first one.
Shaw once again draws you into the sick world he has created and once you’re there, quite simply there is no escape.
Not for anyone.

The sequel to 'Octopus' picks up 8 months after the events of the first book (with some flashbacks to fill in the gaps). As horrific as I thought it would be but with a couple of moments/twists I didn't expect, I think this was more gripping than its predecessor.

Wow! Nareszcie mamy to! Przed Wami drugą część mocno przeze mnie oczekiwanej Ośmiornicy, prosto od Phantom Books. Lepiej zapnijcie pasy, bo to ostra jazda bez trzymanki.

As much as I disliked the first book, I didn’t hate the second book nearly as much. Subtract the explicit rape and the story itself was pretty okay. With the all the rape and eventual murder of a character created to be raped and murdered, it still wasn’t a great read. I would have given three stars, but then the “it was all probably dream” twist ending happened and a third star lost its light.

With that said, I’m going to see this thing to the end. I just hope it stops at book three.

This was my least favourite of Shaw's books. He is currently my favourite horror because of his compelling writing and interesting characters, and because he usually writes psychological horror -- my favourite sub-genre. I enjoyed the first book in this duology, but this one was a bit too weird and confusing for me.

Flabbergasted and Disturbing

Truly disturbing and creepy as hell, the eroticism was definitely something, I feel like showering clean and bleaching my brain of this debauchery spectacle

Ok

Not a bad book but not the follow up book I had been expecting. Finish seemed a tad rushed. Not one of his best efforts.

Matt Shaw is at the top of his game.
Writing consistently “I couldn’t put it down “ horror is remarkable. Better than the movies.

Basically the next chapter in Octopus as a full book really 🤷‍♂️ not as good though. Nothing really to do with an Octopus!

The End

Octopus 2 is the conclusion of Octopus. It relates to the birth of The Old Great One. Helena and Max have reached their end, but their progeny slithers away. I found this series to be a great read, but not for the squeamish. I knocked down a star because of the numerous errors in sentence structure, added words, etc. Could use final edit.

Hell of an ending!!!!!!!

Be careful what you wish for!!!!! How very true. If you ever get everything you wished for it would be a nightmare. Humans are not suited to having it all. If there is nothing left to strive for, what is the reason to keep trying? Why not just lay down and die??? Just like don't believe everything you read. There is an old saying that if something seems to be too good to be true, it probably isn't. To many people become so engrossed in what they read they come to believe that it is true when it's only fiction. A really good storyteller can make you believe in the world he or she creates with their words. But such can ruin your life and steal your sanity. That's what happens in this truly terrifying story by Matt Shaw and that's what's truly scary. If you truly luv scary, horrifying and insane fiction this book is for you. JUST REMEMBER IT'S NOT REAL, JUST A FIGMENT OF A WRITERS MIND. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Not as good as first one

Not a bad follow up but the first book was better. This one seemed like a disjointed rush to finish it. Kinda disappointed in it

Delirious, brutal, extreme. Matt Shaw delivers as usual. Be careful what you wish for, because if you wish for a extraordinary read, you will get it without a doubt.

Pretty good!

This was a good read though I wasn't surprised by the ending. Not as good as the first one but still enjoyable!
