From Wall Street Journal and USA Today Bestselling author Winter Travers comes the 8th installment in the Fallen Lords MC series.
An unexpected guest on the steps of the clubhouse turns Slayer's world upside down. Scrambling to make sense of everything and adjusting to a life he never expected has Slayer asking for help from the last person he thought could ever help him.
Wendy.
Can the feisty woman be the one to help him, or will she realize Slayer and the new woman in his life is too much to deal with?
Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author Winter Travers is a devoted wife, mother, and aunt turned author who was born and raised in Wisconsin. After a brief stint in South Carolina following her heart to chase the man who is now her hubby, they retreated back up North to the changing seasons, and to the place they now call home. Winter spends her days writing happily ever afters, and her nights being a karate mom hauling her son to practices and tournaments. She also has an addiction to anything MC related, puppies, and baking.
Slayer was the eighth book in the Fallen Lords MC series by Winter Travers. The books feed off each other so should be read in order.
I enjoyed Slayer and Wendy in the previous books. Their bantering was hilarious and the fact they purposely called the other by any name but their own made it even better. Wendy was Carnie’s sister (book seven, Freak). They were in trouble and Lords were assigned to each of them - thus the close interaction between Slayer and Wendy.
In this book, Travers picked up exactly where Freak left off and focused on Slayer’s personal life while meshing Wendy into it. I enjoyed both characters as well as the storyline, but it was too rushed. I craved more. I wanted to experience more depth and development into their relationship and their daily lives. Additionally, an MC conflict was carried over as well and also needed more. It was a bridge to the next book, Brinks, and ended abruptly with a cliff hanger.
All in all, it was enjoyable and a great start to their story. Hopefully we’ll get more Slayer and Wendy as the series progresses.
Winter Travers slayed this story and left me swooning and screaming. I love her MC stories and this one had two of my favorite tropes in one - single dad and surprise baby, but not because she’s twelve. Wendy is the sweetest and constantly made me smile. Her banter with Slayer made me swoon especially every time he called her sugar. He is as sweet as he is sexy. I have a soft spot for his daughter and I adore the relationship the three of them have with each other. You need to read this book for the socks, Alice, the shopping trip and the Christmas party alone. Winter this story exploded into my heart and left me wishing Slayer was my motorcycle man.
Slayer & Wendy are finally getting their day but it begins in the most unexpected way when a guest lands on the doorstep of the MC clubhouse . The personal lives take front and center here but we are also given the excitement of the drama that surrounds the club. They are now thrown together and find so many common bonds but the most important are the love of family, a child and a wonderful woman. they had great chemistry and I loved their witty sarcastic banter !!! ~~Michele McMullen ~~
Slayer gets a surprise visit to the clubhouse and ends up asking Wendy for help. The couple are hilarious with their banter and name calling with each other. I enjoyed how their relationship developed over the course of the story. Hope to see more of this couple in the next book.
We have to say that we are really loving this series and Slayer and Wendy were some of the funniest couples we have read about in this series, and we just loved them together.
Slayer's unexpected surprise gave him a reason to pursue the one woman he can't get off his mind. Wendy and Slayers calling each other by anything but, their actual names was downright hilarious and had us chuckling throughout the entire story.
I have to say I loved the change we saw in Slayer and even when things were up in the air about stuff that needed figuring out he took to parenthood like a duck to water.
Wendy was just a sweetheart, and you could not help but, love her she was just a special kind of woman and a man who claimed as his own. I have to say we loved her crazy family as well as they had us laughing out loud to with their antics and advice on romance.
The sexual tension and the little snipes that went on between Slayer and Wendy was hot as hell!" You can say this was foreplay to them ! Lol
Overall it was a cute and sweet romance that happened to play out around the Christmas Holiday which made the story even more special and even sweeter, and we loved how three people who basically were strangers created this wonderful and loving family that they were all growing and learning to be just that and all at the same time.
One thing about this MC series and its characters is that you can't help but, love them all as the all are all so love-able. The story not only had great characters it had more than a few surprises which just sweetened the pot as they say, and we loved that.
OMG I would be so pissed if the next book wasn't out but it is and I'm about to start it.... who needs sleep....lol
This book was mostly Slayer's and Wendy's and Adley's book. You'll just have to figure out for yourself who Adley is.
Wendy and Slayer have been paired up with each other for a couple months and hated each other....now that she is safe and he doesn't have to watch her they are "getting to know each other".
During a Christmas Eve party at the clubhouse something horrible goes down and the way the book ended makes me just want to get to the next one...
At the end of Freak, Slayer opens the door to the clubhouse to find a bouncing baby girl, well a twelve year old version anyways. After finding that surprise, Slayer gets Wendy to help out. Wendy and Slayer have a bit of a hate/hate relationship, but if you ask Wendy's mom and aunt its just their chemistry that they have yet to act on. Will Slayer and Wendy act on that chemistry? Or will Wendy still leave and go home when everything has settled?
So, WOW, Winter Travers is seriously throwing us some shock factors here! Just when you think everything is going smooth BAM that was some curve ball! Ready for the next in the series, I give this 4 stars.
Slayer, Wendy and Adley have to find their way around their new normal when Adley is dropped on Slayer's doorstop with a declaration of "you're my daddy". So far Wendy and Slayer seem to have a hate/hate relationship but once Adley takes a shining to Wendy she begrudgingly agrees to help Slayer out until Adley gets settled in and Slayer finds his feet as a parent. Will the two continue with their snarky interactions or will the close proximity bring out feelings that are more than hate, and might even be the opposite... love?
This was a quite fast paced story but a slow burn romance, and quite a few shocks thrown in. Whatever comes next should certainly be interesting and I give Slayer 4 stars.
The gift of the Fallen Lords MC series, just keeps on giving! Slayer's life changes in the blink of an eye, when he has a surprise woman show up, and that started me off laughing once the guys got involved. I mean, Slayer thought he was just getting the pizza from the delivery guy. He's shocked while those hilarious secondaries, made up of his brothers in the club, had hysterically funny reactions. So this story was off & running, and I couldn't turn the pages quickly enough like usual. Wendy is Carnie's (Freak #7) sister, who has been staying at the clubhouse with said sister, and is about to go home when Slayer ends up needing her help. So, they become roommates, and the laughter doesn't end at that point, plus the chemistry that these two usual combatants have was shooting sparks everywhere, noticed by all but those two with said chemistry. As Slayer's life gets better & better each day, the club has a big baddie of a situation which isn't getting better. It makes some f-bombs worthy twists pop up, making another brilliant Winter Travers tick all my boxes. Those twists just kicked off a new danger, and now, I'm dying inside because of the cliffy. In the meantime, do Slayer & Wendy give in to what not only their bodies want, but their hearts as well?! Hit that one click button to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
I loved that this book focused around Slayer and Wendy. The club drama took a back seat. It’s still there lurking in the background but it’s not the focus.
The focus is inn Steve and Winnie...Slug and Winifred...so many varieties! 😂😂😂 I love their banter back and forth when it comes to their names. I like that they slip from easy, light hearted fun right into love and didn’t even realize it.
There is something that walks into their lives to cause this playful relationship to turn into something serious. I’m not going to spoil that something but you will fall in love!
Now I’m hooked waiting to see what happens in the next book with...NOT GONNA TELL!! Haha haha!
I love the Fallen Lords series, but this one will certainly stick in my mind. Yes, it’s Slayer and Wendy’s turn and their shenanigans were hilarious. After being forced to watch over Wendy and she didn’t take much to the idea herself, they don’t get along at all. But wait up, the story gets more complicated when a surprise arrives, a 12yr old surprise he knew nothing about. What’s he gonna do? I know, say’s he, I’ll ask Wendy for help. This is a laugh out book, what a giggle, there’s some silly name calling, tense action and lots of steamy loving of cause. And we meet up again with plenty of previous characters to make the story whole. I loved it!
This is the 8th book in this phenomenal series and is Slayer and Wendy’s turn. These two do not get off to the best start, but when Slayer finds himself with a surprise daughter, he desperately needs Wendy’s help. This is a well written flawless story which is sweet, humorous, entertaining, emotional and with witty banter which all had me captivated throughout this addictive page turner. I highly recommend for all MC lovers you will never be disappointed by this gifted authors’ work.
I didn't care for slayer all that much in the beginning. He can't remember who he was with a month ago, let alone 12 years ago. First those two fought all the time, then he does like her but wants to work her out of his system, he moves on to wanting her to stay and asking her to marry him. All in 20 days. The h only been with another once before. I hate that, man whore with a practically virgin girl.
Wow!! These books just keep getting better all the time! This is Slayer and Wendy's story and these 2 have quite a story to tell. Slayer gets a huge surprise and Wendy is just who he needs to get him through it! This book was funny, steamy, action packed and full of all the characters we know and love. The ending will leave you wanting more!! Loved it!!
5 SLAYER STARS!! OMG....This book starts out with a bang and I was glued to every page. I love this series, every book is fast, captivating, sexiness, family and love. Slayer and Wendy are that couple you will never forget with all their banter back and forth. Winter Travers has done it again with crafty words....she is amazing. You will definitely want to read this book and series.
Holy cow! I fell in love with Slayer and Wendy❤ They made me laugh, cry, lust, wet my panties and feel their love! As always it makes my day to catch up with the Fallen Lords men and their women. The ending.......one hell of a cliffhanger! Can't wait to see what's next!
This book is definitely one shock after another. The as usual is there, but this is Slayer and Wendy's book. This book is a ride you need to be prepared for.
This author likes to wrap her books and issues within the books up pretty quickly and with a pretty bow on top. If you read the previous book you know that Slayer was shocked to find a young girl claiming to be his daughter. We don't really know much about Slayer he hasn't really played a big part in the previous books. We know he did not want to be saddled with Wendy when she and her sister Carnie needed protection. They dealt with it by calling each other any name that started with the first letter of their name without saying their actual name. Slayer went from not really caring about Wendy to needing her help with his daughter. Within the small window of time they had left before Wendy was suppose to move back home feelings changed and they are in love and engaged. Even though this was an enjoyable read, I want meat to my story. Background, a build up of feelings and something this book was lacking. Yes their name calling flirting happened but all in the previous book and not much of their story in their own book. Also I am curious to know what was it that Wendy got Slayer for Christmas besides the neon socks?
Okay, so Slayer & Wendy started out in the last book when he's assigned to keep her safe during Carnie's trouble. They appear to not get along & keep coming up w/ creative wrong names for each other (my favorites are Wynona & Slim - LOL). That continues here, but Slayer gets a huge surprise & asks Wendy for help.
I love the way their relationship progresses - it's quick, but so heartfelt & the bonding that happens w/ their little family... SWOON! They get a little steamy, but the focus is on building that family.
And THEN! Again, the overall story arc is just WOW & the end of the book is ... I'm heading right into the final book, Brinks, because I have to know what happens!! : )
It's review time 🎧 Warning ⚠️: Mc gang, a lost daughter, banter, cute story, not too long
Narrator score🎧 ; the narrators did great, they were good very good even
Level of steam🔥: the book was kinda hot but not too much as this whole series is...
Level of anxiety and sadness0😱😢: as always you had some light and little drama... with a nice story...
The book itself📖: the book was cute nothing more nothing less... the 12 years old was cute... too cute actually... And the story was nice. A likable story.
Damn a story like no other dislike weird names a child he never new he had the girl he sort of tormented then realised how much he liked her a deranged man who lost everything because of the mc one of the call end fighting for his life one of the girls taken by the deranged brother slayer laying his heart out to Wendy who are now engaged and then a car the deranged man's going through the club room and so much more
I was not expecting the ending to be like that but it was definitely unexpected. Wendy and Slayer are good together especially with Adley. This is definitely a good read and it kept getting better. The Fallen Lords MC Rocks!
I love this series and Slayer and Wendy's story is so good. From the start when he gets a surprise help wasn't expecting, to the explosive end, it was packed with drama.
He is tasked with watching over her, these two are hilarious trying to annoy the daylights out of each other, it's all fun until a knock at the clubhouse door and he thinks it's a pizza delivery when it is something that will change his life. Great read
Winter Travers can bring you angst & action like crazy. But she also brings laughter, giggles and chuckles galore! I've never read one book of hers that didn't make me laugh out loud! And I love it, everyone needs more laughter in their lives.
I can't get enough of these characters. Slayer gets a surprise that changes his life. He needs help and he ask Wendy. She gets to see a different side of him besides the tough biker. And they become the loving family. Can't wait to read what happens next.
What a book. I absolutely loved it and couldn't stop laughing at parts. Loved Adley and her reaction to Wendy. Couldn't believe the end of the book. That did shock me. Hope Cora is ok and can't wait for the next book.
In 1 day player's life turned upside down expecting. Is it in a good or bad way that's the question. He asked Wendy 2 him him but along the way alot of things changed. It was really good. I loved it until the very end. I wasn't 2 happy about what happened.
