Sam - Lately, I’ve been feeling restless. My best friends are happily mated and constantly loving all over each other. While I’m happy for them, I also can’t help but be a little jealous. It’s a foreign feeling for me; I’ve never been interested in a relationship, since all of my adult life has been about the next hookup with whatever man was in front of me at the time. But lately, hookups just haven’t hit the spot (heh - that sounds dirty). Eager for a change of scenery, I accompany my friends to Spain for the feast being held in honor of Dante and Ben’s marriage. It’s there that my life is changed forever when I see my mates from across the room; and yes, I said mates. As in plural. I’ve always been interested in...entertaining two men at a time, but I never thought Fate would bless me with two mates. They’re strong, gorgeous, red-haired (my favorite!), and sexy as sin in kilts. I immediately envision them whispering nasty things to me in Scottish brogue. Things seem absolutely perfect...until they aren’t. My mates take one look at me and stomp away in a cloud of disappointment and anger. Vampire mates are supposed to fall head over heels with one glance, but mine don’t want me.
Fletcher - My twin brother Flynn has always been my closest friend and greatest ally. For five hundred twelve years, we’ve fought side-by-side in battle countless times. We fiercely defend our kin, coven and each other. However, Flynn can also be my biggest irritation. We love each other deeply, as brothers should, but we also fight like cats and dogs. Though we look similar, our personalities vary greatly; I’m pensive and practical while Flynn is carefree and silly. Our differences have caused many arguments between us, but we always work things out. Flynn and I travel together to Spain for the commemoration of the prince’s bonding, and there we meet our mate. And yes, I said mate. As in singular. One man for both my brother and me. Jealousy flares and tempers rise; how can this be? Can we put aside our selfishness and give our mate the love he deserves, or will this be one rift that finally tears us all apart?
*This M/M paranormal romance is for readers 18 and up! It has no cliffhangers or cheating and a very happy HEA. It contains a naughty vampire, his sexy fated mates, and hilarious best friends. Look out for fun Scottish insults, heartwarming moments and steamy scenes!
**Author’s note: This paranormal romance features my take on some seriously sexy vampires. They share many attributes of vampires found in other fictional works, but not all. This low-angst book contains instalove between fated mates, sweet moments, lots of laughs, and of course steamy scenes. I want my readers to finish my books with a smile on their face and a fierce case of the warm and fuzzies. Laughter is guaranteed, and each read delivers its own type of drama. Thanks for taking a look and happy reading!
I live in rural Ohio with my husband and two sons who drive me nuts, but I love them with all my heart. I enjoy reading and writing romance of all types, but gay romance is my forte and favorite! Twice the sexy men? Yes, please! My books tend to be low angst because it hurts my heart, but they do contain lots of heartfelt moments, steamy scenes and a healthy dose of humor. Thank you to everyone for checking out my page and I hope you enjoy my books. Happy reading!
You know when you read a book and like a side-character more than the main so you keep reading the series to get to that character's own book? And then you know how that book lets you down in every way and suddenly the character you loved so much isn't quite as fun anymore?
Sam, Fletcher, and Flynn were perfect together! 🤤🤌
I was reluctant to read this since I'm not a big fan of MMM, but I'm so glad I did! I just loved all of them together! Especially how sassy Sam was and how Fletcher and Flynn were different.
I enjoyed how Sam loved both of them equally and how the brothers treated Sam. It's a sweet, insta-love story with two brothers obsessed with their mate, found family, and funny moments. ❤️
I'm going to pass on this one. I don't read MMM romances. They aren't for me...they just aren't something I enjoy personally. I hate it because I really wanted to read his story.
So I debated back and forth about writing this review. I don't tend to write things too negative. At least I don't think so and try not to. First and foremost, I do enjoy Jayda Marx books and even read more of her works after this book (Her werewolf series is great as well). But something really bothered me about this book. She had an M/M/M relationship and even though I've only read a couple series with a throuple(?) in it, I didn't like her view of the two brothers in this dynamic. One thing I love about the M/M genre is how open minded it is. The whole concept is the belief that love is love. It transcends all. In this story she made it very clear that the brothers were NOT together. That is perfectly fine...and I know incest bothers a great deal of readers and the taboo genre is a completely different kit and caboodle. But I feel like she went a little too far in stating her dislike (or characters dislike of the idea). She may have wanted to make it clear as not to offend any delicate readers...but her words stuck with me through the whole book...I would stop reading and just have these philosophical chit chats with myself! So basically I feel like she should have just stated they bros were not together and left it at that. I mean she's the author and can write however she wants, but...well...I just didn't like her saying "it was disgusting" (about the brothers being together)! Hahahaha! Needless to say many enjoyed it, just my two cents and because I spent so much time thinking about it I had to write a review just to vent and get it off my chest! The author seems nice in general and I hope you enjoy the book. Overall it was a decent read, but definitely preferred the first two books! P.S. Sorry for this possibly controversial post!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This is exactly what I was hoping for with Sam. The first two books hinted that he liked being with 2 guys and was interested in a little bondage action and this book delivered in a big way. Sam was just as funny and filthy as the first books in the series, and his mates were a perfect match for him. Together they were hot, fierce, funny and did I mention hot? Great end to the series, and I'll be looking forward to the spin off to see these guys pop up again.
3.5 stars--this M/M/M fated mates romance was more awkward than sexy. If you're going to put twins in a relationship with the same man, you can't be avoiding the incest factor so strongly. It makes the triad unrealistic and keeps Sam acting as the power bottom between the other two who don't seem to want to even touch each other by accident. This could have been much better.
It's been a couple of weeks that I read all three books in this series and quite frankly I don't remember much about any of the books.
This review is for all three and it's going to be very short.
I was in the mood for something insta-lovey, something that didn't have much angst, because I was pretty stressed out in real life and didn't need to stress about something fictional too, and these books delivered that, hence the two stars for each.
But, even though, insta-love was what I wanted to read it was still too much for me. I don't know how to explain it, I'm very difficult when it comes to that subgenre.
In this instance it was too cheesy and cringey for me, so I didn't have a good time.
Anyway, I'm sure these books will be someone else's cuppa.
I loved the whole series, but Sam's book was probably my favorite. It was sweet, sexy and hilarious. The jealousy and insults between the brothers had me rolling. Without spoiling anything, I'll just say I can't wait to read the next series to find out more information on the "troublemaker" from the field and his friends. Oh, and Callum. Yum.
I’m going with 2.75 stars on this one. As per usual, it’s filled with the total sappy, corny banter as the previous books. Super alpha macho males, dropping to their knees, expressing their undying love. No really, that totally happened in this book.
I’ve waited for Sam’s story since the first book of this series. I felt the author didn’t carry his personality that well from book to book so I was a little iffy about this one. Here is the thing. As much as I enjoy a good ménage book, I can’t really get into it when two out of the (in this case) MMM, are brothers. Want to read a fantastic MMM+ ? Check out Macy Blake and The Chosen series. That works for me because they all have a relationship with each other. When it‘s siblings, it seriously grosses me out. As one of them pointed out after a sex scene, he didn’t like looking at his brother’s hairy ass while banging his lover. Sam gives one a blow job then proceeds to immediately kiss the other brother. Tell me that’s not disgusting ?!? I did like that all the other characters had a big presence in the book, until they started acting like idiotic teenagers at the mall food court. Moving on. The whole shooting thing - I know it leads to the next series, I totally get that, but you can’t sit there and make Dante almost tear a guy’s head off for making a rude comment to Ben, to then act like nothing happened when Ben was almost shot. Like, WTF ?! I understand that she can’t get into that because of the spin off, but you have to work it so that one of your main characters isn’t contradicting himself in such a major way.
Lastly, the sex scenes. Crude as always. Trashy even. I don’t like the way she writes them. I appreciate her not trying to write in Spanish anymore too, than God for small favors. Sam is not the same as he was in book one. I miss that Sam. This really was just meh, ok, not as bad as book 2 though, so that’s a plus right ?
This series is bloody brilliant. Each character was so enchanting from intense to cute to sexy and silly. I loved that Sam got his HEA and can’t wait to see the spin off series. A series that will going on my re-read a lot group.
Same issues as book two: the insta-love bothered me because it made little sense in context of the plot. How can one be completely heartbroken one minute and the next head over heals in love? Just didn’t work for me.
And again, I’m a bit disappointed because I really enjoyed Sam as a character and wished for a better story for him.
But to be fair, the last third of the book was better and more fun than the rest. 2.5 stars it is.
📖 Sam – Dernièrement, je me sens agité.
Oui.
« Bon sang , tu es en train de foutre ça », a-t-il rétorqué en me saisissant le bras et en me maintenant immobile.
« Tu veux qu'on fasse ça dehors ?
« Oui, c'est vrai », ai-je hoché la tête. « Et il est vraiment à toi ? »
"Oui."
« Eh bien, putain.
Twice Bitten by Jayda Marx is the final in the Javier Coven series, featuring Sam and the twins Flynn and Fletcher. We get ourselves a MMM romance where the twins have romantic feelings for Sam, but not with each other.
This was a funny read because the antics of the vampires and Sam's humor are hilarious to me. I chuckled a lot and enjoyed the back and forth. These two come together in typical Jayda fashion: just a moment of sadness and then it is all fixed up. There's a lot more jealousy between the twins than I expected, which was interesting. However, I found the sex scenes lacking a tad in feeling all the details of whatever was doing was included.
I'm sad to see this found vampire family come to an end, but thankfully there's a spin-off where we see them again!
Really disappointed in this long waited installment. Extremely bad sex - dull and repetitive and not menage-like. Sam was always the power bottom directing Flynn and Fletcher.
The setting constantly changed as the trio jetsetted around the world. Really wanted to see them settle down and do every day stuff and develop their relationship. BTW, it was stupid for everyone to go shopping in an American type mall in Spain.
And Sam was always getting hurt. That plot device got old pretty fast.
What a wonderful HEA for Sam! He’s always been funny and sweet with a sensitive side. Fletcher and Flynn were perfect for him and complimented him completely. Once Fletch and Flynn got over their jealousy issues, everything fell into place. What a sweet and sexy book!
DNF. 2 vamp brothers Flynn and Fletcher find a mate.
i love Jayda, but it's a no from me this time. Unlikable character Sam and bastian. Very early in the book Milo (Sam's friend) says that bastian's length is so big, it was a job to handle that. Sam pretends he doesn't know anything about it but confesses to the reader that he knows abt his dick becuz they have hooked up in the past (probably before bastian ended up with Milo) and he had told him not to say anything about it to Milo.
You owe it to your friend to tell him and come clean about anything you did with your friend's mate. Hiding it just seems like cheating to me. How can i look at Milo & bastian and not think about this seditious affair?
Thank goodness i didn't read book 2 either. If i found this out after reading the book, i would've cried a lot! No thank you.
I didn't like Sam in previous books because he was a good friend to Ben but very disrespectful to Ben's mate and coven master Dante. His behavior was outrageous and he was brave and loyal as he took bullets for both Ben and Milo, human mate to Dante's best friend and coven second in command. On a trip to Spain to meet the Vampire King and Queen he is publicly honored for saving Ben's life and gaining their gratitude. Sam's reputation as a man whore is over when Fate gives him two Scottish brothers as mates. (We find out what is under their kilts.) Sam is shot in head pushing Ben to safety and we are faced with Sam and both his mates dying as a result. You will have to read the book to find out what happens. Good book, highly recommended.
Ok! It's official! Sam is definitely my spirit animal! That boy! This third installment in the Javier Coven series is absolutely perfect! I love that while each book centers around one of the couples, all the books are intertwined and literally just continue the story. You get to really know each of the characters individually, as well as collectively, and it makes the entire series that much more addicting. Jayda Marx is absolutely a one-click author for me. If she writes it, I read it, end of story! I'm eagerly awaiting the next series, which will feature Callum and the Scottish Coven. Amazing book!
I got a lil bit frustrated by this book unfortunately. it was difficult to get through and i probably should’ve just DNF’d but whatever. ig looking back there was a lil bit of humor but mostly bc i have never met anyone who considered the scottish accent sexy so that confused me for a bit but now i know.
Overall: Low angst, instalove/fated mates story, pretty self indulgent ig. I personally just didn’t consider it very well written or of good quality 😔 And the romantic relationship was not great especially for an MMM.
rereadability: 1/10 (would really rather not, i struggled to get through it the first time)
So fun! All of the characters from the first two books in the series played a big role and it was great to see everyone back in action. Ben and Dante were super sweet as always, Bastian was protective over his man Milo and Sam was feisty, naughty and so funny! I loved seeing into their worlds again and that they stayed true to themselves. Flynn and Fletcher were a hoot. They argued and bickered but looked after one another at the same time. They were perfect for Sam and the three of them were fire together. Great end to the series.
I really love Sam and his feisty self. He is just fabulous and I am really happy reading about him finding his mates. We all knew that he would need more than one because of how sassy he is. I absolutely love how devoted he is to his friends and family and I always laugh when he gets going. I was excited to meet Flynn and Fletcher they are the perfect compliment to Sam one to help in the shenanigans and one to keep them both grounded and not get too carried away. What a fabulous way to end the series.
The story was pretty good overall and I was happy to see Sam find his mates but there seemed to be some inconsistencies in the story that didn't follow the previous two books. I thought that after a vampire found their mate they could only feed from their mate? In this book they visited the blood bank after they mated and also Sam was fed by Ben after as well. His mates also fed from others. This threw me off a bit. It was such a major part of the first two stories but then seemed to have been left out of the last book.
Sam is awesome and was so happy he got his HEA. So sad for him when he thought they were rejecting him when they were just seeking out answers. Loved how they all balanced one another. They each have to the flip side of Sam, the funny silly side and the serious caring side. The scene where all the tension hits. Omg. I almost was in tears watching the twins fade realizing they were losing their love. I KNEW what was happening when callum stumbled carrying one of the boys. And we get his story next!
It irritates how he wants to wrap it with a fancy layer just to avoid incest! But you know what, it is!! So just write the shit right, dont try to sell it fancy. Whoever comes here, knows better to judges. So if you want to write dirty, write it right. Damn, I really get annoyed every time they insist on showing it otherwise. If you don't like incest, don't write it. Just don't ruin it, damn it. Every time they mention it's disgusting I wanna punch someone!
I had high hopes for this book but Flynn and fletcher were so off putting. It would have been better if they were just two random dude. It didn’t really feel like a trouple, more like two dude that liked the same guy and tolerated each other. It was just not working for me and their way they were always bickering. I understand that the author tried to incorporate fun slang but there were so many different works that they all kind of went over my head, even with the translations in the front of the book. It was a disappointing end to the series.
I loved this book. I'm so glad Sam found his mates. His story made me laugh and cry. The twins are something else. So funny. Loved the Scottish slang insults. Loved the steamy scenes. This is a must read. It will leave you warm and fuzzy. If you love paranormal romance, you'll love Twice Bitten. Please read Once Bitten and Twice Shy before you read Twice Bitten to get the full effect. Love all the characters.
Awwww! Flynn, Fletcher and Sam’s story was the perfect ending to the Javier Coven series! Sam is definitely my favorite character as he continuously proves how fun, snarky, and brave he is. He is definitely too much for only one man.
I love that Jayda provides images of the main characters as well as some of the accessories mentioned in the books on her Facebook page, Jayda Marx Books, as this helps me visualize what I’m reading.
Ben and Dante, the couple from previous books, have a wedding reception at Dante's parents' castle. Sam, Ben's BFF, attends. Two vampire brothers from Scotland also attend. They both see Sam at the same time and get into a physical fight over him. I didn't really like this plot at all because the brothers could barely be around each other without fighting. It was more like they were just stuck with the same mate, rather than being happy about it.
Omg this series just gets better..Sam finds not only one but two mates..and they are brothers...kilt wearing brothers..Fletcher and Flynn and total hotties....and they bicker and fight with each other which is adorable..They quickly realise that Sam is their mate...though they don't go together they all three together are just perfect...I'll definitely be re-reading this series x
