Diana Khalil was born in the small town of Port Arthur, Texas. Before entering college, she met her husband in Canada while visiting family. On a trip to Banff, she recalls how he almost fell off a mountain trying to capture her attention. It was then she knew he was the one. Together, they raised five children, three who entered medical school.
