Dema: A New Hope

Rate this book
A New Hope, challenges the assumption that Israeli Arab Muslims all think alike. They do not. Nor does global jihad have to be inevitable, although thinking that Muslims are the same brings conflict nearer. Dema Taya, an Israeli Arab Muslim, holds high expectations for herself and for her fellow Arab Muslims. She believes in a world that promotes plurality, freedom, and respect for the rights of women and all people. Despite the obstacles, she delivers her message boldly on television, before parliaments in Europe, on her website www.demataya.com, and now with this book. If you long for a better world, read this book.

In a time when the media so often emphasizes the most radical, hate-filled voices when it comes to the Middle East and the Arab-Israeli conflict, here the story by and about a woman who has displayed the courage to set the record straight and to speak the truth about Israel.

Dema Taya is an outspoken advocate for women, for plurality, and for Israel as a light unto all nations. She is a frequent contributor on Israeli television, a public speaker, and a representative abroad.

We in the West often complain, “Where are the moderate Muslim voices?” Well, here is one. Make sure her voice gets heard.

Dema Taya is a bright light of optimism, hope, fierce determination, and goodness. While, strictly speaking, this is not a historical account, there is quite a lot of historical information. She offers many potential processes and solutions for bettering the lives of willing Israeli Arabs and Palestinians, and is a passionate voice for Israel. The collaboration between the authors is successful; the reader hears one voice throughout.
