This story reminds me of my 2 sisters and myself. I was the blue robot and my sister's were the red robots. I have always been the good girl, which is how I got my nickname Angel. I was always the angel of the family. When we all got older we kinda changed. My one sister was still the red robot, my other sister became the blue robot. Me?? Well let's just say I became a purple robot. In the story there is no purple robots, but to me the moral of this story is that EVERYONE can change not just some people but everyone. I loved this story but I do wish there was a purple robot. People can be in between people too.

Interesting

I like the two robots illustrations regarding programming in general.
Then as I think of what the Doctors communicated began to help me see Christianity in a new light.
The power of choice.
Unconditional Love.
As parents we always want to help our children understand that we love them, but we don't always love their actions.
Interesting Read.

Two Robots is a heartwarming story about two Doctors who create robots for very different reasons. One robot, Blue, can only do what his creator wants. The other robot, Red, can choose to do what is right or what it wants.

As you can guess, Red doesn't always make the right choices and comes to believe he is broken. But the Doctor explains his reasoning for making Red with the ability to choose. Although you can likely come to the conclusion without reading the story, I won't spoil it by sharing.

If you have a child in your life you enjoys robots. Even if they don't, this is an important message about their Creator, who He is, and who they are to Him...something every child should know and read again and again until it truly sinks in.

Great lesson about free will

I think this was a wonderful way to teach children that God doesn't want a cold, distant serving relationship with us. He wants us to choose to be in a warm, loving relationship with Him. If we did everything He said, we would just be His slaves and that's not why God created us. Using blue and red robots to show how we act here on earth was perfect for youngsters to understand. It made me think of how the Pharisees were so legalistic and didn't have a relationship with God. Dr. Michael and the red robot showed how with mercy and forgiveness love conquers all. My only criticism of this book is that it was rather long for younger children. Could've been a bit shorter but it was an excellent read worth buying!

Great book at presenting its beliefs

If you believe that free will is the answer to problem of evil and an all powerful God co existing (Theodicy) then this is a great analogy of that belief system. I will say that if you are a Calvinist this is not for you. (I am). No offense taken, not. Bad mouth of the book it’s great. Just want the right people buying the book and the right people teaching the kids the principles in this book. Wouldn’t want someone buying the book that disagrees and getting upset cause no one told them what doctrinal perspective it took. This is the nature of a good review! Help the right person get the right product for them!

"Two Robots" by Mark Restaino is a thought-provoking allegory that tackles the themes of morality, free will, and human nature through the lens of robotics. The story follows two robots who are given the task of watching over humanity. They face the dilemma of whether to follow their programmed orders or make their own choices. The author cleverly uses the robots to reflect on human flaws and the consequences of blind obedience and rebellion. The narrative is engaging and accessible, offering readers both a cautionary tale and an opportunity to reflect on deeper philosophical questions about autonomy and ethics in a technological world.

No doubt, robots are like their creators - they are programmed to make moral decisions and are capable of evil.
One line of code makes the difference.
Children will continue to witness robot integration in our social environments.
Robots with AI will harm or benefit humans in the future.
Actually, they already started their march and the author does not take lightly the distinction between GOOD and EVIL.
My $0.02: Child/robot and inventor/God relationship is too much of a stretch.
BTW, the broken globe is a good symbol...

I received a free copy of the book from the author.

The real meaning of freedom. The importance to choose.
This book has a great deal of meaningful and valuable lessons that will make you reflect over them.
It also contains an answer to the question : Why God gave us the freedom to choose?

I loved that the author used the robots, so it's science vs faith and they can complete each other.

THe illustrations are simple and cute, a great fit for the story.

Great read

I love the message in the story and the use of the robots. God did give us free will and it depends on how we use it. To do good or evil. Great story for young readers to make good choices and know there is always someone that loves and is there for them whether they do good or bad.

This book is such a good story for young readers, it is relatable to those siblings with two different characteristics yet they were raised together and see each other's differences, at the end of the day, what's important is for us to teach our children to be kind, humble, and do good to help people.

Sweet

This book was very deep but done in such away it was understandable to kids and adults. It takes a very complicated topic (why did God give us free will) and explains it in simplicity. It speaks highly of free will and God’s love for us. Love it!

My five year old daughter Rory says, "I like this book so much because it's learning how to be nice and someone teaches you (your Creator!) how to be nice!"

My two year old son Arthur says, "Good!"

Somewhat religious.

Author freebie. Suitable for all ages. Good color artwork. A children's book that deals with free will. Contains a simple message, but might offend atheists.

I recevied a copy of this book from the author. I appreciate the lesson on free will and choice. I think it is a little bit of a stretch to explain the larger metaphor to my 4yo.

This story is simple on the surface, but very deep philosophically. It teaches about choice, forgiveness, mercy, and good and evil. Really great kid book. Will make your children think.

In Two Robots, this question is posed: "Why didn't God just make us so that we would only do good instead of giving us the ability to choose?" The story and answer to the question is played out with two robots and their inventors. Although a complex question, this story moves along easily enough with simple writing and drawings to respond to that query. Charming, and thought provoking. The author provided me with a free copy of Two robots.

In this children's book we meet two robots Blue and Red. One has been programmed to always be good and obey instructions. The other has been given the choice of free will.

Red, who has his free choice makes a mistake and through that is able to be taught mercy and forgiveness.

Accompanied with bright illustrations this story was surprisingly emotional for me. I felt a lot of sympathy for Robot Red who made a mistake and convinced himself he was now broken because of it.

If you are looking for children's religious stories I recommend this one. It is an enjoyable read.
