Matt Bors is a cartoonist, writer, editor, and the founder of The Nib. He was a Pulitzer Prize Finalist for his political cartoons in 2012 and 2020 and is the co-writer of the dystopian satire Justice Warriors with Ben Clarkson.
His cartoons have appeared in The Nation, The Guardian, CNN, The Intercept, and were collected in the book We Should Improve Society Somewhat. He also drew the graphic novel War Is Boring written by David Axe.
Wish that the comics didn't always end so abruptly--some definitely needed more space or a cleaner ending--but overall very satisfied. Would recommend to anyone else looking for political comics!
Another excellent issue. It shows a wide variety of scams, many of them about how the rich and powerful get more so. Also a number of takedowns of pyramid schemes and new-age for-profit thinking. And much more.
Great collection of strips featuring scams both new and old. Several of these, especially the feature-length comics, are infuriating and sad, but are balanced by lighter stories. My only objection is the rigid sticking to two-page layouts for the comics in the first section--many would have benefited from an extra page.
A broad look at scams and the people who perpetrate them, this is an interesting volume with a good range of material from satire to reportage to biography.
