Born in the Caribbean island of Trinidad into a family living in abject poverty 27 year old Romel Ravello lived a life of hardship from birth. Having to drop out of school at the age of eight to work and take care of his family he did not receive much education. He lived on the cold-hearted streets of the capital city of Port-of-Spain from the age of 11 after his mother’s two room shack that his family of five lived in burnt to the ground and endure many unspeakable hardships and abuse. At the age of 15 some unknown person threw Acid on his face as he slept on a park bench one day.Romel denied the existence of a Creator God citing that there was too much evil in the world for a loving God to exist, he attempted suicide three different times all to no avail.In 2009 he read a verse from the Bible as he laid on his suicide bed in the Intensive Care Unit and offered his life to Jesus Christ, asking the Lord to live his life for him as he himself no longer wanted it. Romel admits to making a complete mess of his salvation for almost 4 years by trying to save his own self, turning away from the grace of God to a live of existentialismIn February of 2013, as he attempted to fly to his Plastic Surgeon he was Blacklisted by American Airlines as he started to make treats to murder some of the airline staff members, there was no way in this world from him to ever be able to fly again.As the police took him away he cried out to the Lord Jesus Christ, promising Him that if He was able to deliver him from this situation he would dedicated his life to the service of God.God delivered and Romel was on the next plane out to Chicago! He has since written a book on his life experiences (Beyond Face Value), showing how God had time and time again preserved his life and now he travels the world sharing his story of the Lord’s love, mercy and grace over his life with 10,000 congregations.
