The whole gang is back from book three…they stepped through the portal to find everyone at the Academy fighting with Hunters. The Council members have set everyone to attacking one another because they are afraid of the loyalty that Franky receives from all species. By the way, Tenebris the panther, is my new favorite character~ Franky and the others put a stop to all the fighting but they have bigger worries. Zoltan has laid his claim on her to her and the others…but she needs him to think he is just a fling for his protection. More sacrifices are made, more secrets revealed (which lead to more questions), a kidnapping, a startling rescue, and the Council members will take Franky to a place she never thought to enter…it is maddening~ The whole book is action-packed from start to finish…but the final scene that ends in yet another cliffhanger (snorting with laughter here)….I cannot wait for vengeance! Maya Daniels you are killing us with the cliffhangers and each book exceeds the one before! I received this as an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.

This is the 4th. book in the series. And I swear each book is better than the last. This author has sooooo much talent. It begins as they get back home through the portal. And all hell is breaking loose. The council members are scared because everyone is putting their loyalty and faith in Franky. So they have everyone fighting everyone. When Franky wants to meet with her friend Daren of course no one wants her to do this. They fear for her safety. And then when Daren comes through the portal into the academy..... Everyone is shocked!!! The wards in that place should not be able to be breached. He is there to tell Franky her mother was taken by Roberti. Then Silas walks in and Daren says" hello father".... Omg you could of picked my mouth up off the ground. I did not see that coming!!!!! I'm not one to give spoilers so I'll just say this book is fantastic!!! It's action packed from beginning to end.... Hot sexy scenes, loyalty and suspense.... What more could you want? Towards the end I did cry like a baby!!!!!! OMG I absolutely love Tenebris the panther shifter.... Gotta love a loyal sexy panther lol This book is just off the charts awesome!! This author never disappoints. A definite must read

Initiated is the fourth book in the Daywalker Academy series and, yes, I know I've said this before but, it should definitely be read as a series or you just won't get what's happening.
So first off, thank you Ms. Daniels for giving me Zoltan back. I really do appreciate it! Sigh, every page he was on was just... *insert another sigh*. Now, if you could just get Franky and Zoltan to see eye-to-eye and stop giving me whiplash, that would be fantastic!
We are introduced to a major character in this book - and it's not very often I get the chance to say THAT with book four in a series! Tenebris, the black panther. You know, he hasn't spoken a single word (for obvious reasons) and yet he may just match the Queen of Snark, Maya, oops I mean, Franky, herself!
As with this whole series, this is a non-stop-action story. Franky is tired in one part and, to be honest, so was I! Honestly, I have no idea where she gets her stamina from. Maybe it's being a half-blood or maybe it's the dragon blood. Either way, I'm exhausted from reading but I wouldn't change a thing!
As always, it ends on one helluva cliffhanger. I really need to understand just what happened in those last couple of action-packed pages. All I can say is "Poor Franky!!!"
So... do I recommend this book? Abso-frickin'-lutely!!! Just, don't start here but back at book one so you get the full experience. You won't regret it. I promise you that!

I loved this book! Not only does the action and the magic keep me reading it's the LOL moments that I love. I really hope the new shifter gets to shift soon so I can get a gander at his human form because I don't think it's healthy of me crushing on his animal form ;). I really really need the next book!

Oh my word was this ending tense! So dramatic and completely unexpected, I'm reeled like a drunk! It impacted on me greatly, so much so that I'm ready to battle and tear the Board apart with my bare hands! Most of all Silas, I have this urge to rip his head from his shoulders. But let me start at the beginning....
Franky is trying to come to terms with everything happening to around her and to her. Hells bells, the punches come fast and furious! This book picks up exactly where the last one left off, so I was still heaving a very relieved sigh that Zoltan was ok. I was worried there for a moment! Franky, being Franky, decides she needs to do the honorable thing, which is really the most idiotic thing, and I added my voice to all those that shouted "no Franky! Don't do it!" With a battle raging, with the Hunters out in full force, the Board sieze the moment to exact a promise from Franky, which has every single fibre crying out "foul". They are foul, they only have their interests at the forefront, they want to bring Franky under their control. It's obvious they fear her, they fear what she can do, but the way they do it, the lies and manipulation is definitely foul.
Franky is such a complex character, so beautifully portrayed and incredibly likeable. She's snarky and funny, she tough and insecure, she's a whole host of contradictions, even to herself. Her determination leads her into oh so many flawed decisions, some bordering on preposterously dangerous but Franky does as Franky does and then finds even more bizarre solutions! Thank goodness for her allies! Ooo, and a new ally attatches themselves to her, an ally most would run for the hills just on encountering them. Being a half breed, Franky has all sorts of insecurities, one being the very yummy Zoltan. So when she does what she does, I literally put my head in my hands and groaned out loud!
I've said it before in my reviews for prior books by Maya Daniels, but I'll reinforce it, she sure knows how to keep one on one's toes! The pace she sets, the world she exposes, the heartache and deception, the intricacies of feelings, the twists she crafts so unexpectedly, come out in full force in every single book! It's a no brainer that I'm always looking forward to reading a Maya book, I know I'll be riveted and propelled into a magical storm I willingly get sucked up into and, heaven help me, I don't want to get out! I adore all her characters, she allows me to encounter them and interact with them fully, to believe they are MY friends, which they are, I will hold them dear for a long time. I truly am anxious to read the next book in this engaging series.

Franky and Zoltan make it back to the Academy, where there is fighting all around. Franky is trying to figure out what is going on. Franky now has a panther attached her as she argues with the others to let her out. Turns out that the board, people of the academy are fighting them. Franky can't believe it because they are protecting her. She finally gets to where she wants. The board gets her to say she will take the oath, she agrees without knowing what she is agreeing to.
Franky wants to see Daren, she want to go to Sienna but can't. Daren shows up at the academy in the most shocking way. Daren informs Franky that Roberti has taken her mother. Franky is not to worried about her mother. Daren takes the Franky and the others to the human realm to talk over everything that has happened. There is alot going on. Franky decides to step away from Zoltan, even if it breaks her heart. Franky is wearing an item from her father, that will greatly effect others.

This is the fourth book in the series, and it’s an ongoing story. That means you absolutely must read the previous books first, and then line up the next book in the series to read as soon as you’re finished, because although it’s not quite a cliffhanger ending, it *is* an unfinished story plot.
Franky and her friends return back through the portal to chaos. There are demands being made, one of which will require Franky to make a sacrifice. And that changes everything...
Franky is woefully ignorant of the workings of the world around her. It’s not her fault, the people around her deliberately kept her that way.
It’s an ignorance that comes back to haunt her again and again, and the worst of it all is that those she calls friends are keeping things from her too.
This series is a fast paced, action packed one. The characters are mysterious and intriguing, and the author keeps you both invested and interested. There are some side characters you know you really want to know more about (Myst), and others you can’t wait for them to die! 😂

Frankie and her team of merry misfits are back in business. They’ve rescued Zoltan and are ready to fight once again. But upon making it back to Daywalker Academy, she is told she has to be initiated before she can be trusted. Should be simple right? Things never are. Find out what Frankie will have to give up in order to be finally be part of the Academy.
You will be reading this book non-stop, total page turner that leaves you wanting more.

I LOVED this book!! I was up all night as I couldn't put it down!
The team come back through the portal to find themselves in the middle of a battle!
We're introduced to a new character (whom I love) as they try to figure out what's going on and why, without getting killed in the process!
Franky isn't sure who is pulling all the strings but she's determined to find out who and cut their hands off..Or heads!
I love the crew working together again and especially love the new addition ~ also glad Myst is still in the picture ~ she's another favourite of mine!
This series is a must read for all! It's laugh out loud funny and Action packed!

I’ve read the first three books in this series, and I was glad to read the fourth. I love this author’s writing, and it shines in this book just like the others. Poor Franky is wrung through the wringer in this one, especially at the end. I didn’t see that one coming. This of course ends on a cliffhanger, and it is a dozy of an ending. I really enjoyed Tenebris, maybe because I love cats. LOL! This latest is sure to please fans of this series, but if you haven’t started this, start at the beginning. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

You know when you open a Maya Daniels book you are going to be blown away. Initiated starts right where book 3 ended only Franky and Zoltan were met with something completely unexpected.
It was non stop action from the start.
New characters are introduced, amazing twist and turns that’ll keep you guessing, and an ending that’ll make you gasp

I thought the last book was heart stopping! This one smashes it all to hell! I am so afraid for Franky. Those asshat board members need to be destroyed…as in made unalive. And then thrown into another realm that will eat their carcasses.
And that crap they made Franky drink? They need their heads removed just for that-and then whatever it was made her decapitate her poor brother.
I hope Franky makes them all pay for their arrogance.

5 Star - Couldn't put this book down. Its stay up late reading and be late to work good.
4 Stars - Couldn't put this book down but I still got a goodnights sleep
3 Stars - An enjoyable read that took me a few days to a week to finish

It seems Franky just can't catch a break. She and her group of friends overcome one hurdle, to encounter three more. This is an amazing series and now that Franky is coming into her power, the next books will be incredible.

Well I read that in one day! But that's what lazy Sunday's are for right! I'm completely hooked on this series. I love Franky and want things to work out for her. So I am prepared to go on this roller coaster ride with her. Roll on the next book!

I love this series. Well written and great story, I tired from staying up late as I just find it hard to put these books down. If you like strong female characters and a bit of romance with an edgy sorry line this series will suit you.

This is such a steamy read that has me loving the strength and vulnerability of the main character, Franky. I love the tension between her and Zoltan, plus all the supernatural stuff in-between.

What a rollercoaster! Zoltan is back and on board. The twists and turns of this series are brilliant. The cliff hanger man! I need to know what happens next
