declan and owen 🥺

“I’m so sorry you had to go through all that, but look at you. Look at the man you’ve become.” He raised his head, and his eyes were haunted. “I’m nothing much. I was nothing before I met you. All this wealth, it meant nothing if I didn’t have someone to share it with. You give me focus, Owen. You give me purpose, because a Daddy is made complete only when his Boy will have him.”
😭😭😍

“Hang on.”
I expected him to give me a shoulder to steady myself on while we went down. If I had known he meant differently, I would have declined his offer altogether. He snagged me around the knees and carefully swung me up into his arms. Stunned, I grabbed his shoulders, shocked as he grinned at me while he started our descent.
“Owen!” I growled at him.
“Yes, Daddy?”

his Boy taking caring of his Daddy 🥹

“Baby,” I said into the phone when it became evident he wasn’t moving. “Come to Daddy.”
😩😩😩

“Good, Boy.” I stroked his hair before shifting to accommodate him more. “I’m going to use your holes until I tire for the night. And then I may decide you can come. If I feel like you did a good job and deserve it.”
“Oh, I’ll do anything to please you, Daddy.”

I freaking loved this book! It started right where the first book ended, so it's not a standalone. After Declan's surgery Owen moves in to take care of him. Even when Declan is physically unable to make love to Owen, he finds creative HOT ways to make him purr and sigh. I loved those moments, they established even deeper intimacy between men, and Owen felt completely secure in his role as Declan's boy. He finally was able to let go and just enjoy everything Declan gave him.

Declan is recovering nicely. But life has a way of intruding. His friend Ridge makes a mess to clean up that makes Owen doubt himself, Declan finally wants to clear the air with his father because he hasn't moved on from his mother's death so long ago. I loved how he handled Owen and his insecurities by being stern yet loving Daddy. It was wonderfully written. He took care of Owen so well. And finally Declan and Charles talked. It was angry yet necessary. It was good to see Declan get closure and gave him a chance to forgive his father.

This book focuses on family, does not have anything drastic happen to characters since the family issues are enough for them to contend with. Owen is trying to bridge a gap between his daughter Summer and her other dad James. That does not turn out as expected, and after the dust settles he needs his Daddy for comfort. Declan is finally introduced to Owen's kids and ex. That's all kinds of funny and adorable, but Declan is patient enough to withstand Owen's kids' interrogation since they are now his family too.

This was a very well-written Daddy/Boy romance with enough steam that didn't overwhelm the story but was very intense and passionate, with family issues finally resolved and Declan and his father finally finding their footing in their fledgling relationship, enough love and just a tad of angst to spice up the story. But Declan has been naughty. Oh, what did you do Declan and will Owen get upset when he finds out? I can't wait to see the consequences, and how much Declan will have to make up for what he did! Awesome book and I highly recommend it!

sigh

I really thought I was going to get Book #1 up to 60-80% Declan and Owen in Book #2.

Towards the end of book #1, there were some OTT behavior but I thought the author tamed it some...

Guess not

Because this book was dramatic, dragged out and gratuitous with sex scenes. The characters stopped being 3-D and was more like 2-D. And I'm not one to knock writing a majority of a book for sex scenes and not letting the characters grow, some readers dig it, y'know?

I don't mind OTT drama if it's captivating and starts to be a page turner. But the dramatics and heavy exclamation point use were over the simplest things like cutting your hand on thorns. I was boooooooooooooored and seeking Book #1 main characters because Declan barely changed in his relationship or grew much as a person. He still doesn't open up and expects Owen to just bend over and open up his entire life.

And Owen?

This book's Owen was such a disappointment. He said he never cried when his best friend and wife left him with 3 young children and now in book #2 he's prone to tears and hysterics for the little things. The climax of the story is meeting the family which happens around 89%... which means to me the rest of the book was gratuitous filler.

Truthfully, this could have been an interlude, about 50-60% could have been shaved.

You must read the first book as this is not a standalone. And I'm hesitant to read the last book in the trilogy because it's even longer and I feel like Declan and Owen already plateaued in their relationship. So my book sense tells me it's going to abundant of sex scenes with Daddy/boy caricatures, tears and dramatics.

Maybe Book #1's couple will make a show in the finale and this would all be for nothing?

2.5 Stars because I made it to the end. I'll round up for now.

This second installment of this series was still quite nice.
I really liked reading about how Declan and Owen grew closer. Especially with Declan recovering from his surgery.

But I do have to say that sometimes it felt a little too BDSMy for me. I’m all for the daddy kink, but BDSM doesn’t do much for me these days. And sometimes I felt like Declan was just too much of a Dom and not enough of a Daddy.

When I thought Declan and Owen couldn't get better... comes the second part of this Awesome trilogy!!!
In Take care of me, Declan needs to accept that he's not superman and accept (begrudgingly) Owen taking care of him... this will help them to get even closer and jeez... even HOTTER together...
I can't have enough of sweet Owen and his hot Daddy Declan...
can't wait for book 3 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I CANNOT wait for everyone else to read this book!!!
Love daddy kink? Me too. Ever read one with a reversed dynamic before? Yeah, I hadn't either. But I gotta tell you, it's awesome! I had high expectations for this sequel, and it did not disappoint! When I finished the book, I immediately flipped back to the beginning and read it all over again.

(First, let's take a moment to drool over the cover model...🤤🤤🤤).

Set immediately after the first book, Owen temporarily moves in with Declan to help care for him after his surgery. I was afraid that Declan would push Owen away again, but Declan's learned his lesson-he knows what's important. I love that there wasn't any unnecessary angst, and all the focus was on their developing relationship and growing closeness. Despite the age gap, they really do fit together perfectly. I love how caring Declan is and how unashamed he is of his feelings for Owen, and I love how Owen's confidence in that love grew and strengthened over the course of the book.

"I glanced at him, saw the face of this beautiful. man who loved me. I had no doubt he did. Just as I had no doubt we belonged together. Two pieces of the same puzzle fitting together at last."

Peppered between all the feelings are the SMOKING HOT sex scenes. Like, panty-melting, "you cannot read this in public or people will ask why you're so flushed" scorching (the same goes for book 1). Due to Declan's recovery period, Declan has to find new, creative ways to pleasure his partner. It's insanely sexy, with some awesome dirty-talk! The author really knows her way around a sex scene, and Owen's trust in Declan is truly a beautiful thing.

"I want you to use me like that’s my purpose,
to serve you, to take your cock and make you come. I want you to have more than one load inside me before you finally permit me to climax."

Yeah. Owen's not as shy as before, and he's got a really filthy mouth.😈😈

The dynamic of the younger MC being the dominant daddy is a rare trope (believe me, I looked), and I truly hope more authors follow suit. Do not miss out on this series! I am raving about it everywhere! I am beyond excited that a third book is in the works because I haven't had nearly enough of the two of them!

ARC given by author in exchange for an honest review.

*Not extreme daddy kink-no ADBL or "little" behavior.

I'm sorry it's taken me long to get back to this series, because I really do enjoy this twist on daddy kink, where the daddy is younger than the boy, and I do love me some Declan and Owen together.

I'm a big fan of the "what's next" - what happens after the two decide to make a go for it and have that committed relationship. Now, Declan and Owen have to deal with their lives with Declan recovering from major surgery. Owen still needs to tell his kids that the man he's in love with isn't that much older than them, and there's still James, who upset Shannen especially in the first book.

There's a bit of melodrama and some things that don't quite add up (they're all staying at James' place?) but I do love the steps forward that Declan and Owen take together. With Declan recovering, the two have to find other forms of intimacy and connection, and I love them just loving together.

Starting the third book soon, gotta see how it all wraps up!

This is a different themed story and series...one that many people will find the entire theme various degrees of offense. Declan is a multi-billionaire younger "Daddy Dom "and Owen is an older "Boy". They are both mature adults, that years ago, life events shaped who they are today. Owen and Declan’s story evolves over 3 books, and this is the second. The books really can't be read out of order since one continues from the last without much backstory. Owen has experienced the "empty nest feeling" ever since his 3 kids moved out to start their own lives. His wife...who is almost a story unto herself... left when the twins were babies, so he raised the children alone. To say that Owen and Declan don't run in the same circles of life, would be a major understatement, yet their paths crossed, when Declan knew from the first time he met him, that he wanted him. As with any relationship, they were tested. It had nothing to do with their sexual preferences, but more with how the world and those around them perceived them and their relationship. I believe they were accepted much more in the story than they would have been in the "real world", but it made for a much better story. I had several problems with Owens adult children. The daughter was rude and judgmental without any cause whatsoever...not from Owen or from Declan. Her lifestyle was with a woman that she was going to marry, so that her Dad was with a man shouldn't have been a problem for her...and she had nothing but total support from her dad and Declan. The twins had been sneaking around and contacting and meeting their absent mother who had been out of their lives for 20 years with no attempts to contact them. When one of the twins first met Declan, he accused him of taking advantage of Owen...even though he was assured by Owen that that wasn't true. I just hate stories where adult children try to run the lives of their adult parents. I already get an idea of what will be part of the issue in the next book, but I have full confidence in Declan and his way of dealing with things. I'm sure that Declan, and Owen will continue to share their love, joy, and fears...and that remember that age is truly "just a number".

Even though this was mostly Owen taking care of Declan while he was recovering, I still thought it was good for character building. The little bit of sexy times that was there was pretty damn hot.

What bothered me though was that Owen agreed to stay at his ex's house for 3 days without Declan. I guess it shouldn't have bothered me since no one seemed to have a problem with it, but if I were Declan I would have not been ok.

I also didn't like everyone pressuring Summer to forgive and accept James when he left them for 15 years with no word. Nuh-uh! And the twins having a relationship with him for 10 months before telling Owen was just wrong.

I really am enjoying the series though even the issues that I had with this book. It's still interesting to me, so on to the next book.

What a great follow up. These two men are rock solid throughout this, bringing the dirty-talk and the kink to some super sexy levels while never forgetting the feels. I loved it. Can’t wait for the next one.

Please note: there are some spoilers for other characters in this series in the authors notes that appear BEFORE this story starts. Nothing really about Owen and Declan but enough for me to now be anticipating things when I know I’d rather happen upon them naturally when bk3 comes out.

Oh swoon - I loved that Owen became the care taker for Declan after his surgery... there’s still that offbeat edge with Dec being Daddy even though he’s half Owens age but it really works. Really enjoyed this

for me 2.5* but I rounded up because I do want to read the next book.

I was excited to see this come up on my amazon suggestions. I was surprised how much I recalled about book 1. I liked both Declan and Owen. In the first book my biggest issues were with Owen's ex and how Owen handled the revelations made by them. So I was not at all pleased to see that this issue was one of the main plot points in book 2. I hated it even more here. Nothing at all about this rang true for me. Owen's daughter is written as a bit of a spoiled princess who throws a tantrum about her mother. It was rather OTT. As much as I thought her behaviour was not age appropriate I really cringed at the suggestion she should be trying harder with her former mother. It made zero sense to me that Owen and their son's decide that the ex's home is the best place for them to all gather for a family holiday even though the daughter is clear she is not ready to welcome mum into her life. This does not at all match with the caring and thoughtful father Owen is in every other way. For me this whole part of the book brought it well down in my estimation.

Now the good part was Declan. And of course Declan and Owen. Much less spanking and very little penetrative sex. But the intimacy there was was quite steamy. I loved that Declan has to readjust some of his thinking. The whole daddy/boy thing was less comfortable for me than in book one but that is probably just my own bewilderment about this particular kink. However I did like how Declan worked to make it as comfortable for Owen as he possibly could. I bought into their love and was certainly rooting for them.

The annoying thing about this books writing is that it ends quite abruptly. There was enough small reminders about book one that I could enjoy it but now I need to read book 3 to feel any closure at all. I would rather it had been put together and just been a pair of books. As book 3 is due out soon I can not be too unhappy.

"You're the family of my heart, Declan, and you need to meet the family of my heart and blood."

The long and the short of it, Declan and Owen's story takes off where book one, Take Care of You ended. Dec is hospitalized, about to take on an event that could change the course of both their lives and it is drawing him and Owen even closer together.

This book deals with the issues of trust, family and discovery. Dec learned how Owen would always put his needs before Owen's own, keeping the younger man safe during his recovery. Owen learned that his Daddy would always take care of his every needs, inside and out. But would family approve of their dynamics? Would everyone be on board or were there issues that would never be resolved?

Book three, Take Care of Us will end the trilogy, but not the stories these men are involved in. The author delivered with continuing Dec and Owen's world, and she promises more to come.

I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.

**3.5 stars**

This took a really pleasant (and kinky) turn. But only after the second third of the book.

Man did I have my issues with Declan. He just really fucked up a lot and the worst thing (in my opinion) was that Owen just had to take it. In hindsight I get why Declan acted the way he acted, partly because of his recovery from surgery and partly because of the trauma from his childhood. I really understood his pain but he was a shitty daddy for most of the book and that pissed me off so bad (I might be overreacting but who cares).

Owen, my sweet and lovely Owen was an absolute angel throughout all of the book. I really loved how much he‘s grown into his role as boy. That was so stunning to witness.

To be fair, Declan did some growing too. But only in the last third of the book. But man was he good then. Their relationship developed so, so much after he got his shit together and they got even more kinky which was delightful. There were some scorching hot sex scenes in there. Don’t mind if I do!

I really enjoyed the ending as well. Probably because the focus shifted to Owen‘s family again, which I was waiting for forever. But I also just loved Declan and Owen together and am now looking forward to their final book.

Book two of this Daddy/boy, D/s tale of two men who belong together. I liked this continuing story of our dynamic couple, Dom/Daddy Declan, 25,

and sub/boy Owen, 46.

Declan is having surgery for his bleeding ulcer and Owen is by his side, caring for Declan. The side stories of Charlie and Owen's family are sprinkled throughout.
We also see some flashbacks to the horror that gives Declan nightmares.
Declan is healing slowly, and we get to see their actions and thoughts. Their sex is explicit, emotional, with edging and erotic play. Our guys are exploring and deeply bonded now. The family BBQ type celebration is where Owen tells his kids about Declan, and Summer gives the most resistance. She's not accepting James either. Declan shows up to help Owen, and mixes well in the family.
I am looking forward to Owen's decision to quit working, but....
ENJOY !

If a billionaire handed me a black AmEx and said sure take care of your debts. Get whatever you may need. There is no way I’d be upset about it like Owen was. I guess I’m greedier than I thought bc it wouldn’t be an argument. At all. Buy me whatever you want Mr. Billionaire. You’d never hear me say “Eat the rich” again. 😮‍💨

Uhhh ::shifts eyes from side to side:: I don't know how I got on this side of audiobooks but um... okay. That was... something!

I have a hard time starting a series and not finishing it. It's sort of a compulsion. Especially if they are audiobooks. If you like dominance/submission in BDSM and/or daddy/boy kink then you might want to give this series a try? I don't feel confident enough to outright recommend it. But if you're reading this review of the second book then it's likely you don't care and are finishing the series just like me.

This book picks up exactly where book one left off. Declan and Owen have to deal with the surgery recovery which brings them closer. Ridge makes an ass of himself and disrupts their relationship and Owen's confidence, creating a rift. Then Owen finally introduces Declan to his family.

I predict that Owen will be upset that Declan sent off his manuscript without consulting him (who the fuck does that?) and that they'll overcome it. I think a HEA will happen but after much ridiculous emotional upheaval. Book two also had a lot of emotional drama llama and felt like a WebNovel, Wattpad work at times because of the highs.

I received this book by the author and this is my honest opinion.

“Only trust someone who can see these three things in you: the sorrow behind your smile, the love behind your anger, and the reason behind your silence.” Unknown

I think this little quote at the beginning of the book sums this 2nd book up nicely of the dynamic relationship between daddy and boy and how connected Owen and Declan are. I liked that the book carried straight on from book 1 in time scale so it's important to read the first book to gather what's going on. This one went into more detailing of establishing and firm footing there relationship from dealing with insecurities, and helping one another to overcome past issues. It was quite emotional but I just love how Declan and Owen are together from sweetness to rauncy. We also get more interaction from their families and I liked that relationships that were frayed are starting to repair themselves. Just a good book with a great set of characters that I'm loving reading about. Cant wait for book 3😀
