This is one of those moments where I am sad that the journey is over. I loved every step of the way but I almost feel like I'm losing a friend. Or in this case a whole group of them.

Every book in this series has grabbed hold of me and made me love each and every one of them. I have been dying to get Kent's book. He was the strong silent type who loved so hard but always sat on the sidelines alone. And although we knew there had to be a reason it was a mystery.

And meeting Delaney and watching him go all out to prove his sincerity was awesome. But damn her story was complicated and every time I though she had gotten through the last drama another bomb was dropped. Luckily she had Kent by her side to help her navigate it all.

These two were a beautiful addition to the family and a great conclusion to the series. I just can't believe it's over. I really need to do a series re-read soon to get over my loss.

God.. I don’t know what I was expecting but I’m starting to get bored with predictable authors and stories.

#loser hero who had no balls to tell heroine how he felt.
#weak heroine who was pregnant when she left.
#secret baby.
#an evil mother (heroine’s) who played her part in their separation.
#a twist so predictable.
#a separation of 5 years. Neither were with other people.

I’m done.. so done. Not even my cabin fever could make me enjoy this predictable shit.

Kent and laney

Great read as all of Kaylee books are.Kent met Landry when she was in Tennessee living at her grandparents house. During breaks in college she would go back to Tennessee to see kent. It's the night before her senior year of college and she will be leaving to go back. But she has something to tell kent . But Kent goes out with his friends and never shows up to see laney. The next day Kent goes to see Landry and to tell her he is sorry for not showing up. Laneys mother tells Kent laney is with another guy. She lied to kent. Many years go by and laney is back in Tennessee. She has inherited her grandparents house. But guess who is the contractor who is fixing up the house. It's kent. This is their story. Kent is a very sexy alpha male.and But Laney has no idea who he is.

I have to be honest, when I first started reading this, it took me a bit to get into it. The last book, and really all the books in the series have been difficult and very emotional and I just wasn’t in the right place for another book like that right now. I’m so glad that I didn’t put it down because once I was a couple chapters in, I was hooked. I have always been curious about Kent. I knew that this strong, silent, sweet guy just had to have a story and boy, did he! While at times it was over-the-top, I was still completely lost in this story. I enjoyed the courting, the build of the relationship. Their story back to one another was special and I truly enjoyed it. I love the sense of family that Ryan creates in this series and that we get to see that love, loyalty, and devotion with each book. Another wonderful story.

Unexpected Odds- Kent and Delaney

This is it..the last of the series. I recommend reading them in order as they are interconnected. A brief summary, five best friends run a construction company, each book specializes one of the men, however they are all in each book.

It is finally Kent‘s turn. We see bits and pieces of his life throughout the other books, but we never really understand why he’s not in a relationship, until now. He lost his heart to Delaney many years ago, but hasn’t seen her since. So when the construction crew gets a new job, Kent is both excited and nervous about the prospect of seeing Delaney again. However, he is in complete shock when he says hello to her and she ask, who are you.

Delaney has lived in California for the past five years and now that her father has passed, she inherited her father’s family estate in Tennessee. Before Delaney decides what to do with the estate, she wants to visit, remodel, and see the town she doesn’t remember. Much like life, this series and this book show you that nothing is easy. But with the support and love of her soon to be new friends, they will help her through the ups and downs.

This was a really good series. A heartfelt one. For everyone, looking for a tearjerker, the series is for you. To me, this last book wasn’t nearly as harsh as the previous four, and I appreciated that. I wish we could have gotten a bit more at the end, About the entire group but good nonetheless. I hate to say goodbye to this great group of friends.

THIS BOOK! This freaking magnificent book! I DEVOURED this book. No, devoured isn’t good enough. Or maybe it is, but I didn’t devour this book, it devoured me. I was obsessed. Utterly addicted to Kent and Delaney’s story almost instantly. I was pushed to my limit on so many emotions. From tears of heartbreak to tears of pure joy, I cried them all as I fell even harder for characters I’d already come to know and love from this series along with falling just as deeply for characters I was meeting for the first time.
Kent is everything I could ever dream of in a book boyfriend and more. God, so much more. This man is the definition of beautiful inside and out. As sexy as he is (and the man is HOT) his heart is by far the most attractive part of him. The love between him and Delaney is what we all dream of. That soul deep connection that nothing can stand in the way of. These two have that multiplied by about a billion. This is hands down one of my all time favorite books by Kaylee Ryan and one of the best books of 2020 for me.

What a delightful story to end this series. This has been one of my FAVORITE series - and unexpected. *grin* I didn't know there was going to be a series when I read Unexpected Reality. I loved that one so much that when the author offered a t-shirt to purchase, I had to have it (and it's comfy!!)! : )

To get each of these guys' stories has been a treat, and to save Kent's story for last was genius. He & Delaney have such wonderful chemistry! I love the way they interact with each other & work through the unexpected things life has thrown their way. It's also great to get to catch up w/ all the guys & their wives & kids - Kaylee Ryan writes some ADORABLE kid interactions, y'all!!

I loved this story from start to finish - this SERIES from start to finish - and it's definitely on my recommend, re-read, and favorite shelves! : )

The final book in the Unexpected Arrivals series focuses on Kenton (Kent) Baldwin, Uncle Kent to all the adorable kiddos from all the other books. Kent is kind of a brooding man - and we realize it's because he was in love with someone, and let her get away.  He doesn't know where the woman is, and he hasn't been able to move on.

The Beckett Construction guys get a job to renovate the Nottingham estate - and Kent comes face to face with his long lost love, Delaney Nottingham. Things do not go as planned. I really don't want to say why, because I don't want to spoil the book, but it's big. It's big and it's very believable.

I have loved Kent since book one, and his story did not disappoint. He was such a sweet, loving man, who is so great with kids.

Delaney had some serious mamma drama which I found pretty annoying, and I hated the character of her mother. I found her backstory very interesting, and it took a turn I did not see coming, and I loved it.

This was a very fitting end to this series, though I will admit, I would have liked an epilogue with a glimpse into the future, where we get to see everyone like 5 years down the road. Who knows, maybe Ms. Ryan will use the kids from this series for her next series of books. The boys will be great alphas!

I would recommend both this book and this series.

I cannot praise this series enough and am sad that this is the final book. I have loved every journey with each of these guys and as every story releases, I have fallen more in love with each of them. Kaylee Ryan has a remarkable ability to make me feel how each character is feeling and I always find myself deeply immersed into each and every story.

Unexpected Odds is a beautiful second chance romance. Kent and Delaney’s story is an emotional, second chance that as the title suggests, defies the unexpected odds. The unwavering love and support Kent had for Delaney was special and heartwarming. The two of them had so much chemistry that only continued to grow throughout the story. They haven’t had an easy road and there has been many lost years, but despite the odds they found each other again. They get the second chance they both deserve.

As sad as I am to see this series end, I am very much looking forward to seeing Kaylee Ryan has in store next.

What a way to bring an Amazing Series to a end. Kent, I just love him. He is so misjudged because of his tattoos with a bad boy look. He is such a softie . He wants what his bestfriends have the love of a good woman and family. So when his pass comes back into his life all bets are off. He isnt letting Delaney the one that got away get away again. Get ready to swoon and fall in love with the guys of Beckett Construction all over again.

Krótka, lekka i zabawna, mile spędzony czas.

I had mixed emotions as I started this book. As glad as I am to see the last of the guys find their HEA, I'm still sad to see the series end. I absolutely loved the Beckett construction crew, and their stories are among some of my favorite. I've read each books multiple times, and they just get better each time! Kent and Delaney fit so well with each other, it seems like they've been together forever.

Delaney had a great childhood, happy and surrounded by loving parents and grandparents. But her life isn't perfect. Tragedy strikes, leaving her confused, and trying to rebuild everything. When her dad died, he left her with a legacy, that just might lead to her finding out who she is, and where she belongs again.

Kent is just like the other Beckett Construction guys. He is strong, sure of himself, and loves his family. But something is missing from his life. Something he let slip from his grasp, something he would give anything to have back.

Delaney and Kent have history, a connection that is undeniable, and perfect. So many things are working together to keep them apart, and the odds are stacked against them, right from the beginning. But a love that true, that perfect, will conquer all of those odds and come out stronger on the other side. And that is what happened with Delaney and Kent. This book is the perfect ending to this series. It's totally swoon-worthy, and I just couldn't get enough!

Ugh this didn't work for me... at all! Kent saw Laney when she would visit TN when she wasn't at college, and she spent that time with Kent. They set up a meet at a B&B, and he shows 4 hrs late because supposedly he can't accept his feelings for her. The next day she is gone. Her mother weeks later says she is back with her boyfriend. Then her parents move to be near her.

Fast-forward 5 yrs and Laney is back in TN after her dad died and left the house in TN to her with some stipulations. There she will run into Kent again he fawns over her, but she doesn't remember him. Why? She was in a car accident and has amnesia and the only time she hasn't had return is the years she was with him. Convenient.

She has a secret. He is gaga over her. We are to believe a hook up relationship that ended has kept him celibate for 5 yrs. There were other little small things that made my head shake.

Yeah, this didn't work for me.

Fantastic end to a great series. I love Kent and all the guys! Kent's story did not disappoint. I didn't know what kinda of storyline Kaylee could create with Kent and his love, but she did it right. I really enjoyed Kent and Delaney's story. I couldn't put it down! Delaney's been through a pretty big ordeal, but there is something about the man she keeps dreaming about. She has inherited a house, on the other side of the country, and she is going to see about the house from her childhood. She sees the man that has been appearing in her dreams. Little does she know, she already knows him.

I don't want to give to much away, but this was a fantastic end to this wonderful group of childhood friends. Such a loving, protective group of guys who love their friendships with each other, become wonderful husbands and amazing fathers.

As much as I hate to see the series end Kent's story needed to be told. Filled with regrets, miscommunication, and time lost that can never be replaced, Kent and Delaney's story was another masterpiece from Kaylee Ryan. With layers and layers of the past colliding with the future Kent and Delaney have huge mountains to overcome. When all of lies and deceptions are revealed the story takes a turn into one that is filled with hope and happiness. In true "Unexpected" fashion once again I was wiping tears from my cheeks and at the same time a sense of peace was felt. This series will be one I will re-read time and time again. 5 Stars are not enough.

Unexpected Odds by Kaylee Ryan is book 5 in the Unexpected Arrivals Series. This is the story of Kent and Delaney. I have read the previous books which added to my enjoyment of this one but I did feel you could make this a standalone book if you wish to do so. Kent and Delaney where once in love but they were pulled apart. Kent didn't really know what had happen to Delaney but we learn she had been in a car accident where she lost her memory. Now in there present day Kent ends up meeting Delaney again and learns what had happen. But, now Kent has to make her realize again what they had and what they could have. Enjoyed this book and series.

This was another delightful story in Kaylee Ryan’s Unexpected Arrivals series. Kent has spent the last 5 years in regret that he let Delaney get away when she shows back up in his life. **plot twist** **another plot twist** Now Delaney and Kent are trying to see if they can recover from the old hurts and navigate a new relationship.

This book was a well written story and second chance romance that just about touched on every feeling I can think of. Kent is strong but a little sensitive at the same time. Great addition to this series.

This book series I have to say is one of the best series that I've ever read. I absolutely love this authors work and I always look forward to reading her books. This is book #5 in the Unexpected arrivals series and it is awesome.

Book #1= Unexpected Reality #1
Book #2= Unexpected Fight # 2
Book #3= Unexpected Fall #3
Book #4= Unexpected Bond #4
Book #5= Unexpected Odds #5

Kent and the team of construction worker's get the job to work on a house that needs renovating but little does he know who he is about to become face to face with. Delaney is the girl that got away and he is full of regrets after what happened.
Kent is such a good, kind loving person with a beautiful heart inside of him. He is very sexy alpha male and he seems to be the one of the group that hasn't settled down, but knows now that the time is right for him. He loves all his family and he really loves his nieces and nephews.

Delaney and Kent have lost so much time together, but is the time right now for these two?
Delaney is one strong lady who also has such a caring and loving side to her.
Delaney has got left her grandparents house and is renovating it, she hasn't had things easy in the past and has had her struggles to. Delaney actually was in an accident and can't remember who anyone is, but she has learnt to adjust to repeating herself to everyone of her situation.
These two get something that is totally unexpected.
( NO SPOILERS ).

The love between these two is so strong they have such a strong connection and there chemistry is sizzling too. These two souls are totally meant to be. Soulmates. I really felt for these two characters so much and everything that they went through and are going through. This author knows how to catch the readers attention and mind and hooks them in so much that they feel everything along with the characters.
This book had my emotions all over the place and up and down, you feel the love the heartbreak and the hope and everything the characters feel. This book is a real second chance, family orientated romance that will break your heart and have you loving these two just as much.

This author writes so brilliantly that you are desperate to read all her work and this book and series is completely out of this world, fantastic. I loved it and I cant recommend this book series enough because it's fabulous and you won't be able to put it down.

Thank you to the author and publishers for allowing me to read an early copy of this book.

Unexpected Odds is the fifth novel in the Unexpected Arrivals series by Kaylee Ryan. I think it's the final book since all the people seem to have found their soulmates, but I might be wrong. I have loved every book I read in the series (skipped book 4 due to some pet peeves though) and I know that I will keep reading whatever the author decides to write next.

Like it happed with the other books in the series, the blurb doesn't reveal much about the plot, so I won't either. I am only going to say that this is a second chance romance because I also need to address something to the people who are like me. Neither party slept with someone else during the separation, which was a relief considering that Kent kept saying how he never stopped loving Delaney. If Delaney had slept with someone else during their time off, I would have forgiven it because the circumstances in this book are not usual.

Kent is an intense man. Once he realized that the love of his life was back into town, he did everything he could to keep her and I couldn't love him more for it. He was the person Delaney needed in her life and Delaney brought back the Kent that was lost. Their story didn't end so well the first time and they tried to redeem that. I cannot say anything else in fear of revealing something. The books in the series are the kind of books where you need to go completely blind in order to enjoy them at their fullest. I am only gonna say that I loved having Kent's family around because they brought so much warmth with them. I would definitely recommend the book, without a second thought!

5 Stars!

Kaylee Ryan is a fantastic writer, always producing a new favorite of mine from her and this particular series has been completely amazing in every little way there is. I've read every book in order so far and I swear they get better and better with each new release.

The Unexpected Arrivals series is back with its fifth emotionally charged, unforgettable standalone romance and hold on to your hearts ladies and gents because it's totally gonna be stolen by the time you finish this story!

Expect ALL. THE. FEELS.

Unexpected Odds was a beautiful, angsty, emotional, unputdownable, second chance romance that captivated me from the very first page and didn't let go until the very last word. I devoured this book and their journey, whole.

Delaney and Kent, what a pair! These two had me hitting all the highs and sinking in all the lows on every page that they did, when they did and shew, my heart y'all! Their journey was so really dang good though, even in the most complicated times they had and they definitely had those. This second chance was everything and these two, had me feeling it ALLLL and I simply couldn't get enough.

Oohhhh y'all, KENT, so worth the wait. 😍

This series is an absolute must read for romance lovers. Kaylee delivers all the heart, all the heat, and all the feels in this all-new beautiful new adult romance.

I highly recommend this book.

Unexpected Odds by Kaylee Ryan is book 5 and the final book in the Unexpected Arrivals series. This is Kent and Delaney's story.
This was heartbreaking( at times) emotional, heartwarming, steamy, full of feels, rollercoaster ride of emotions ( grief, pain, anger, happiness, pain, joy) and romance.
Kent and Delaney had a brief romance which ended suddenly then several years later Delaney is back. Kent has never forgotten Delaney and their connection/chemistry. She was his long lost love and he hoped to reignite their flame but things do not go as he planned...without giving anything away, this book is about 2nd chances at love and forgiveness. It's about secrets and lies that do damage but what happens after the lies are discovered, is what makes this story so fantastic. Kent is a great guy who is an alpha male that's just a sweetheart guy. He's gaga over Delaney- she is younger than him and she has had some bad things happen during their separation. She is now awakening to the facts. She is strong, sweet, and isn't a pushover. Perfect match to Kent.
Get ready for twists and turns that will keep you hooked from start to finish. Just know this book is a fabulous story to end the series on.

I have loved this whole series and all the guys from Beckett Construction. I mean, what is not to love about a bunch of hard working alphas that love fiercely and absolutely adore their women and children? Kenton did not have an easy story. He let his love get away five long years ago. When circumstance brings Delaney back to town, she brings a few surprises with her. As usual with Ms. Ryan’s books, I felt it all right along with these characters. She is so good at allowing the story to flow, that I get so caught up in it and I always lose sleep reading way too late. ~helen

Kent's book was so good! His and Delaney's story consumed me. I love Kent and how broody he is but also the best uncle. Delaney is his perfect the match. The chemistry was off the charts. The twists and heartbreak in this story was sooo good. It's a great end to this series. I definitely recommend!! ~Andrea

I really did not want to read this book since I knew it was the end of the series and I have learned that I have major book hangovers from Kaylee Ryan books so I knew I was going to be heart broken, but this story alone had me heart broken but at the same time had me cheering on these 2 great mc's. Such a lovely story!!! ~Jen

Kent works for a construction company but when he arrives at the house that they are renovating the last person he expects to see is Delaney, his first love, who disappeared from his life five years ago. The surprises keep coming as not only doesn’t she remember him but also the fact that she is not alone.

Delaney’s brain may not remember Kent and their time together, but her heart feels like she knows him. She has endured so much since they have been apart, but will he be able to convince her to give him a second chance when she can’t remember the first?

The chemistry between them is intense, the love they have for each other has endured despite the challenges that life has thrown them, but her memory loss isn’t the only obstacle they will have to face if they are to have a future together.
