It’s not how we make mistakes, but how we correct them that defines us…

Karsyn Fallaway

Tucker didn’t stop my car as it drove away from his house that summer night, and the sting of rejection hasn't gone away.

Over a year has gone by, and I find myself looking for him in all the places he’d been before. It doesn’t help, he’s still an enigma I have yet to figure out.

My friends are the only thing holding me together. Work is the one thing keeping my mind busy. Until my life threatens to tear completely apart.

Tucker Williams

She drove away and my pride wouldn’t allow me to stop her. A year later, regret keeps me up at night, forcing me to replay the moment in my head.

Working with the K-9’s is the only thing keeping me going. Becoming close with the former MTF is a perk I hadn’t counted on.

When a child is kidnapped, all the hard feelings have to be put aside to save a life. Secrets are unearthed, and this time as Karsyn threatens to break, I know I’m the one to put her back together.

Tucker and Karsyn's book is one I've been excited for since we were first introduced to their characters. Their story started off with Tucker being a complete idiot and letting Karsyn leave his life because he wasn't ready for those kind of strong feelings. Almost a year later Tucker realizes what a big mistake he made and he tries to win Karsyn back.

It was clear there was a lot between them and that it was a complicated relationship, which made the book all the more intriguing. Even though Karsyn didn't just give in to Tucker being all cute right away there actually wasn't a ton of angst involved. I really enjoyed that we got to witness all of their sweet moments without a lot of drama because of how they ended.

We did get the bonus of some more serious moments, especially with Karsyn's past, that I thought was incorporated really well. I would have like more of Tucker's past and getting to know him more but I was happy with what we did get. Overall, this was a fun and sweet addition to this series and I can't wait to see what we'll get with the next book.

4.5 Stars ~ Erin

I am loving this series and Briscoe gives us a strong addition with Enigma. Just when things start to get serious between Karsyn and Tucker, he runs. Turning his back on everything he never knew he wanted, he learns that Karsyn’s heart may not be the only one broken. When he realizes his mistake, will she open herself back up to him or is it too late to make things right?
Briscoe delves into these characters, allowing us a deeper look. We begin to understand their motives, actions, and insecurities. Secrets and past traumas come to light and we have to see if these two are strong enough to make it through it all together.
This was such a fun story. In addition to the romance, she mixes in some action, suspense, and a lot of heart. We get to spend time with the rest of the gang and fall in love with this new couple. Briscoe shows me, once again, why she has become one of my must read authors.

This third book in the series has us once again in Laurel Springs centered around the men and women who are there to protect and serve.

Tucker and Karsyn showed up in the previous books and I couldn’t wait to see where there story was going to lead. Karsyn seemed flighty to me in the previous books and a little in this book as well but she was hiding from her past. She thought she would be able to find comfort with Tucker but he had some high emotional walls. I wasn’t sure what to make of Tucker. He didn’t have a large role in the previous books but I liked him.

When it comes it Enigma, I had a hard time liking Tucker. I still didn’t fully understand his motives in their relationship. Perhaps this is why the author choose this name. There were a few times in the book, that I was hoping Karsyn would have found someone new. Tucker put her thought the emotional gamut.

Overall the book was entertaining but I felt it was a bit rushed at the end.

The past was never forgotten...

For good or bad, Tucker and Karsyn’s lives were shaped by events of the past. Sometimes we’re able to have a second chance and redo the mistakes and these two made the most of their reunion.

This author is a great storyteller and I was glued to the pages from the get go. Tucker and Karsyn had history – both love-filled and heartbreaking. How it all came to be, and what they were going to do about it now, made for a read full of emotional minefields. I felt for both of them, as decisions made – good and bad – had affected them both so much. Facing each other, those decisions and everything else that brought them to this moment, meant the time of reckoning was at hand... It was easy to get lost in their story as it roller coaster rode through their reunion with all the obstacle stops along the way

An explosive ending was icing on this cake (and cover) as I now must wait for more... ~Diane, 4 stars

When I first saw the blurb for Enigma I was super excited and couldn't wait to get my hands on a copy! I'm happy to report that it totally lived up to every expectation I had... and then some!

Syn and Tuck's story is one of second chances, growth and acceptance. Their story was so beautiful and heart-breaking that you couldn't help but cheer them on to be together.

Syn was everything I love about a leading lady: a little unsure, a lot strong and stubborn. She didn't see the world through rose colored glasses on account of her past and a few times it actually tainted how she dealt with things. In the end, Syn was able to prove to herself that she was more than her experience and that was a truly beautiful thing.

LB always gives great alpha, and Tucker was definitely an alpha. He started off refusing to feel and was in no way in a place to accept love so he pushed Syn away. What I truly appreciated about Tuck was that he learned from his mistakes, he admitted his faults and he was willing to do what needed to be done to correct the wrongs. It's hard to NOT swoon over a man like that - if I do say so myself :).

I love the LSERT series almost as much as I loved the MTF (Moonshine Task Force) series (MTF came first that's the only reason why my heart lies with my MTF men lol) because it's a lot of bada$$ ladies and gentleman that overcome obstacles and get their HEA's! (LSERT is a spin-off of the MTF series FYI).

LB does a really great job of writing characters that you can connect with. Personally, I've never gone through anything like what Tuck or Syn experienced but LB's writing makes it feel like I have.

Absolutely worth reading and if you haven't read the other books in this series I recommend them as well.

5 Stars!

Laramie Briscoe is back with the third standalone book in the Laurel Springs Emergency Response Team (LSERT) series and this one has got to be my absolute favorite of this series to date.

Enigma was everything I needed it to be and more... a beautiful, steamy, sexy, swoony, suspenseful l, second chance - contemporary romance that gave me all the feels right from the start and was completely unputdownable in every single moment this book gave.

*sigh* Tucker and Karsyn captivated me from the very first moments these two landed on my kindle. Y'all, I couldn't put them down, for a single second, until long after the pages stopped turning *talk about a serious book hangover*. Tucker and Karsyn were a complicated mess at times (watching them grow together and heal *swoooooon*) and in others they soared so damn high that even I never wanted to leave those moments. Throw in their undeniable chemistry and fiery passion... plus an adorable dog... EPIC.

If you like your books with heat, heart, twists, and unforgettable HEAs then LB is a must read every single time.

I highly recommend this book.

Continue to love Laramie Briscoe and this series! After falling in love with the stories of their parents, we are getting the second generation of this crew and I can’t thank Laramie enough! Both Tucker and Karsyn have pasts that heavily affect their present and future, and it makes this couple that much harder trying to get together and push through. After Tucker finally pulls his head out and sees Karsyn and their relationship for what it was, the book got that much better because they finally stopped fighting the feelings they both had, but it was understandable based on Tucker’s past. Karsyn’s past – WOAH BABY! The strength and perseverance this character had and pushing through her past was amazing – even when having to revisit and then work with Tucker and the team to stop it from happening again. The storyline was amazing, and the writing was spot on. I can’t get enough of this author and her books! Absolutely cannot wait for the next in this series!

This book is what real life is about .

It’s about having fears and doing unreasonable stuff like breaking up with the woman you love because you got scared and decided to push her away.
It's about learning from your mistakes and then deciding enough is enough and doing everything you can to return the light in your life and never letting go. It’s about learning that sometimes hot sizzling chemistry just isn't enough.
This story had tears, laughter and moments where ones heart was so full of love that I didn't know what to do with myself. With each book in LSERT series I lose my heart peace by peace to these characters.

I’ve said it before and say it again Laramie Briscoe knows how to write amazing blue-collar men and women and I’m an absolute fan.

I’ve been waiting for Tucker and Karsyn’s story since we were first introduced to them. Their story was amazing and I loved seeing both characters be vulnerable with each other. Both Karsyn and Tucker’s past play a major role in how they live their lives and have impacted their relationships. Both of their stories were heartbreaking, but they use their past mistakes to rise above and create a stronger relationship. I loved seeing the other characters, especially the camaraderie between Tucker, Nick and Ransom. Of course, love Major and Ransom too! Especially loved Major’s reaction to going into the store with Tucker when he buys Karsyn a gift. This was another great addition to the LSERT series and I’m really looking forward to Cutter’s book! I received an authors copy and I have left an honest review.

Tucker... what to say about Tucker... I absolutely love him! He makes an awesome book boyfriend.
And he’s mine!
I’ve claimed him! Called dibs! AND licked him!
So like I said, he’s mine!!!

About the story -
Tucker and Karsyn make a great couple. Neither are perfect, but they are perfect for each other. At the beginning of this story they are broken up. Or whatever you want to call it when you just have sexy times, then catch feelings, tell the man you love him, and then he ends things with you.
Stupid men!
A week later he realizes his mistake and starts sending her flowers weekly.
Can these two find there way back to each other???

On a side note, I loved seeing Menace and Caleb. (Especially Caleb - he is my favorite!)

This one can be read on its own on you can read them in the order they were written for maximum effect.
I highly recommend this story and this series!

This story was absolutely amazing. I didn’t think the LSERTS series could get better, I mean have you read Ransom and Nick’s stories?! But of course, it got better and I loved it so much. Tucker, being a typical guy, starts out the story by being an idiot! He definitely redeems himself and Karsyn and him reunite to start a beautiful relationship. About time too, because poor Major was missing his Karsyn! The story has love, growth, friendships (some really great and funny friendships), and of course some drama and suspense which sweeten the pot. Karsyn went through something terrible as a child, but she is so strong and with Tucker and Major at her side, she’s even stronger. Also, oh my god the first epilogue is a dream of mine (you’ll understand if you’ve read it!). I loved this story and I can’t wait to see where this series goes now, especially with the second epilogue!

There’s a reason Laramie Briscoe is an auto buy and frequent reread author for me and Enigma is the perfect example of why. Beautifully blending heavy emotion with heartwarming sweetness like no other she had me riveted right from the prologue of Tucker and Karsyn’s story. I’m talking literally from page one I was hooked. These two have quite a story that will have you shedding a tear or two, then a whole lot of happy tears along the way.
A second chance sweeter than any I’ve ever read before these two were constantly melting my heart with how wonderful they were together. Beyond adorable and with fantastic chemistry they manage to bring both heat and sweet to the table in a way that will entirely capture you start to finish.

I’ve read 4-5 of Laramie Briscoe’s books at this point, and I’ve noticed she always manages to find characters and a story that will suck me in and hold me until the very end. Karsyn and Tucker have history, and not the good kind. It’s the kind where someone got their heart broken and they both spent b months trying to recover. Now Tucker knows he made a mistake and he wants Karsyn back. Karsyn isn’t sure she can trust Tucker again, and when things get complicated, can they find a way to make it work. These LSERTs novels always prove to be a good read.

This was a perfect read for me. Tucker and Karsyn was in a semi relationship but when she did the unthinkable to Tucker, caught feelings lol, he immediately cut ties with her and broker her heart. I loved that when Tucker realized the mistake he made he worked for it and tried hard to get back in her good graces which made it better cause he wasn’t immediately forgiven for hurting her. She is dealing with past trauma and when she finally opens to Tucker about her past he becomes her strength and it was great to read his growth.

An emotionally stunted Tucker lets Karsyn go after she tells him that she loves him! 12 months later, after trying to stay away and failing miserably! He’s basically turned into her stalker. When he wants funding for his K-9 unit, Karsyn offers to help. He gets his second chance to show her how he really feels. Great read. Loved reading their story and catching up with all my favourites from previous books.

Enigma is a story that will at times leave you breathless and fully consumed. Tucker is a man scared of the power of love but when his fear keeps the reason for his heart to beat at arms length, it’s time to be strong and vulnerable all at once. Karsyn and Tucker both need to come clean, open their hearts and finally accept that without each other life has no meaning. A story that is flirty, a little dirty, drama filled and overflowing with love and passion.

Syn and Tucker's love is mesmerizing!

I really enjoyed watching Tucker figure out what he was going to do to get his Karsyn back after he decimated her emotionally. The worst thing a person can do when someone tells them they love them is leave. Of course Karsyn was used to people leaving as soon as they knew her secret, which is why no one in Laurel Springs except her parents knew the horror Karsyn had experienced first hand as a very young girl.

When Tuck decides he can't survive without Syn, he does everything he can to show her he's learned from his mistakes and grown into the man he wanted to be. More importantly, he wants to be the man Karsyn needs him to be, and when Karsyn finally gives up her own secrets Tucker just gets stuck in more closely with her. But their journey isn't over yet, and both of them will have to make the hardest decisions of their lives just to make it back to each other.

The sexiness in this book was HOTTT, and made even more enjoyable because Laramie layered over the physicality with the some of the best emotions I've ever read in sex scenes. Their love for each other was tangible, from the time when Tucker couldn't tell Karsyn he loved her out loud to an amazing verbal scene, their attraction was mesmerizing!

With the non stop action, the humor between Tuck, Nick, and Ransom, the hilarity of girls night out with Karsyn, Kelsey, and Stella, and the goofiness of sleep deprived parents, this is probably one of my favourite books in the LSERT series!! I can't WAIT to read Cutter's story in June!

This story shows us that when both people aren’t in the same place emotionally a relationship just won’t work but it also shows that it can with time and caring be put back together.

Change can happen within yourself and you can be willing to put in the work to have what you didn’t realize you even wanted to begin with.

Kar and Tucker are people who both have some growing to do not only for each other but for themselves and what’s to come!

Excellent story with sizzle, action and suspense!

This is a well written book with strong characters in Karsyn and Tucker. The author does a great job developing the story and paints her scenes perfectly. She takes you into their lives with romance and love and kept me turning the pages with action, danger and suspense. She moves the story fluidly and delivers a terrific second chance romance.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Could this be any better! We begin with Tucker being a typical man and letting Karsyn (I love her name!) get away because he wasn't ready to admit the very deep feelings he was having. A year later and he knows he made a huge mistake and tries to win her back.

These two are complicated at best. I think that is one of the things that made this such a great read. Karsyn has some stuff in her past that come to light in this book. It makes her a better character in my opinion and it helps her and Tucker build a much stronger relationship.

I think without their pasts being what they were and without the breakout they would have just been an okay couple. I loved that Tucker wasn't perfect (neither is Karysn), I mean right off the bat he screws up but it makes him a much more believable character. As well as a far better book boyfriend. He doesn't come across as too unattainable.

All in all I loved this book! I can't wait for the next one. This entire series is simply amazing and you need to pick it up today.

Book Three of the Laurel Springs Emergency Response Team series...a much anticipated addition to Ms. Briscoe’s collection! I count myself blessed to have read everything by this author has written, and could not have been more excited to read this book and see how the story unfolded!

Tucker and Karsyn needed a second chance at love. Their journey was one of many choices and twists and turns. I loved reading about another K9 handler and his love story.

I admit I was a bit nervous about another K9 officer after the grand story of Ransom and Rambo. But Karysn was a perfect match for Tucker and Major. I wasn’t sure how Karsyn would fit in their life, and I was intrigued how their backstories would play out. But the new characters were given a story worthy of their actions.

Ms. Briscoe wrote a tale that was a fast paced read that left us wanting more. I was thrilled to reconnect with old book friends in the LSERT team and the Moonshine Task Force. This was my first read of the new year, and I was glad to have it be such an amazing book.

The boys of Laurel Springs (LSERT) are back and this time we get Tucker's story, and what a story it is. This book will break your heart and send chills down your spine, as well as give you goosebumps and more than a few heat flashes! But it is really Karsyn's story that will tug at your heart and have you cheering for the strong woman she has become. When she reveals her secret to Tucker, she will definitely capture your heart.

This story is well written and will definitely play on your emotions as you hear her story, then hear more when she has to replay everything during a parole hearing. If you could, like me, you would want to reach into the book and end that SOB's life yourself. Then there is the story revolving around Tucker and his relationship issues as well as the issues that the two of them find themselves working on together. And of course, there are the K-9's as well as the guys of LSERT and the older members of the Sheriff department. The whole gang is there, even if we don't get to see much of them, they are there and just as funny as ever.

I absolutely love this series as I did the one it spun off of. I love these characters and if there were really such a place, I would definitely move there. I highly recommend this book, this series! You will not regret it and I promise you will love these characters as much as I do.

We’re back in Laurel Springs and this time we’re getting to know Tucker and Karsyn, they’re both part of the Laurel Springs Emergency Response Team, the pair were in a relationship of sorts up until Karsyn caught feelings and uttered the "L" word which resulted in Tucker ending what they had going on, breaking her heart in the process. Tucker comes to his senses, realising just how much Karsyn means to him and how, no matter what issues he had in his younger "family life" growing up he’s not going to let them destroy what he could have with the woman he loves and after binding his time he’s decided that now’s the right time to go get his woman.

Enigma is the story of them finally getting it together, admitting fears and revealing secrets along the way, making them stronger together than they’ve ever been before. When those secrets come out to haunt Karsyn in the here and now, Tucker proves his love and support towards Karsyn as do a good few other familiar faces we’ve come to know and love throughout the series.

Another fantastic addition to this brilliant series, great characters and storyline, the chemistry is there as-well as the camaraderie between Tucker and those he works with. This is one book you don’t want to miss, get one-clicking and dive in to the wonderful world of Laurel Springs.

Loved this addition to the series. The storyline is well thought out, flows nicely and boy did it keep me on my toes. The plot is emotional, exciting, romantic and suspenseful all rolled up into one amazing read. If you have kept up with the Laurel Springs books, you know that Tucker and Karsyn are a couple. Yet when Karsyn wanted more, Tucker couldn’t do it and he let her drive away and out of his life, feeling his childhood made him unworthy of giving and receiving love. But now it’s a year later. Tucker knows what he’s lost and wants her back. Karsyn hasn’t moved on but she just can’t let him break her heart a second time. But Tucker is determined to take his time and prove he’s what she needs and can give all of himself to her this go round.

Karsyn’s story isn’t an easy one. She’s kept her childhood horrors a secret from her friends and Tucker. She knows if she is going to let Tucker in she is going to have to come clean with him about everything. This is such an amazing story. I picked it up and didn’t set it down until the very end. It held me captive and my emotions on high alert. I don’t have enough words to explain how emotional and yet thrilling Enigma is. I can only recommend you grab this one up ASAP and enjoy, you won’t regret it.

2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars.

Enigma was a fantastic & emotional read that I legit couldn't get enough of. It's the story of Tucker Williams, a man who had too much pride to go after the girl who was his lobster in every way, and Karsyn Fallaway, the other half of Tucker, and after he broke her heart, she's really not having any of him these days. It doesn't mean that the year after that emotional incident that he's out of her head, or that she's out of his, but this girl is very strong, albeit too stubborn at times, however, I was #TEAMSYN all the way! I mean I fell in love with Tucker after a minute as he was a yummy hero who just made a big mistake, but was determined to make up for things. Will Karsyn have anything to do with it is the question, but wait there's more! A child has been kidnapped so all feelings have to be put on the back burner, as the story takes a big suspenseful turn! I was on the edge of my seat by that point, plus dropping big time f-bombs when secrets start making themselves known! Enigma was an awesome story that checked off all my boxes, so it was the perfect read! But don't take my word for it, hit that one click button to find out for yourselves! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
