The problem with that is he's been in love with Annie's best friend, Angela, since he met her. And she is nothing like Annie. This book contains my number one pet peeve in the dd genre: both partners are at fault, but only the woman (h) pays.

This is what Dane blames and punishes Annie for:

1) Their problems: So, all their fights were her fault? He never did anything wrong in their entire marriage? None of Annie's complaints were justified? And she was completely right about not wanting to have a baby while their relationship was so tense.

2) "Not dealing with their [relationship] rationally:" Well, actually, dude, you left her -- the ultimate in irrationality -- in the early morning, with a note that was little more than a post-it, telling her not to contact you.

3) Her feelings for her ex: At no time during any argument with her husband did Annie mention her ex -- it was Dane who did, thus projecting his feelings of insecurity on to her. Furthermore, when he sees Annie and Ross (her ex) together, he makes the wrong assumptions; gives her no chance to explain; files for divorce without even returning her call; once he does speak with her, refuses to believe anything she says; and hangs up on her when she repeatedly tries to explain ("I don't know what kind of game you're playing, but it's not going to work"). Why on earth would any woman want to be with a man who doesn't trust her and thinks she's lying -- not to mention slut-shames her? (I'd also add that when he does capitulate, its a volto-face that comes out of nowhere, but, then, this author is an unsubtle writer.)

4) Seeing her on the dance floor with her ex: Even Dane admits this wasn't her fault when he finally listens to Annie's explanation, yet, he still belts her because...You got me; I can't explain it.
"But none of it was my fault," she protested with a wail, tears falling down her cheeks onto the bed.
"I realize that now, but all the same, I want you to think about it. Had we not been at odds with each other, you would not have been at that club with Ang. Russ wouldn't have had access to you. Because we were fighting, you looked available to him. Think about that while I'm striping your butt."

And don't even get me started on this advice gem from his brother who believes that couples should NEVER discuss their problems and that if the woman is at all unhappy, all the man needs to do is punish her: "Well, about the second time she started bitching and moaning, I would have had her across my knees in a heartbeat. You got soft, brother." I feel incredibly sorry for Angela, particularly when he punishes her for the first time, over nothing, with a paddle no less (though he does at least give her a safe word).

Though the book does get better later -- Dane admits his faults and Dax turns out not be as much of a Neanderthal as first appears -- the beginning left too sour a taste in my mouth. Ultimately, this is just too conservative and patriarchal for my taste. Those with different ideologies will probably enjoy it since it's milder than many dd books, at least consensual (and, thank god, they do talk about safe words, something that's vanished in most of these books), and Dane does admit that he needs to "share" the household chores (men, apparently, feel that this is optional for them, but not for women). I also appreciated the ending, since, while Annie . This book -- like every dd book -- never addresses what happens when the Dom makes mistakes.

At least it was consensual and not harsh. But, I've now read two books by this author -- neither believable in the 21st century -- and now know that her books are not for me.

The Daring Doms comes across like two separate novellas in one book, as each half focuses on one Daring brother (really, that’s their last name). And I found I liked one story more than the other.

The first is a marriage-in-trouble plot, as Annie and Dane find themselves fighting far too much for either’s taste. They married relatively soon after Annie broke up with a long-term boyfriend, and many of Dane’s friends and family have wondered if this was a rebound relationship rather than one that could stand on its own terms. Dane reaches his breaking point, moves out, and decides to reset their romance by going back to a dating phase, where each can learn who the other is at this stage in their lives.

On surface, this sounds like a really interesting story. But in practice, I thought Dane passed judgement way too fast on Annie, and Annie made way too many assumptions about Dane. Add to this that Annie’s old boyfriend turns up at multiple convenient points for the plot, to the point that I couldn’t buy into it. The domestic discipline element seemed more like fix-all solution instead of one element of Annie and Dane addressing who they are now in their marriage. Overall, I couldn’t invest in this couple.

The second part of The Daring Doms was far more satisfying to me, as we have a longtime playboy in Dax, and the story centers around his gradual realization that Angela, Annie’s best friend, has come to mean more to him than anyone else. Angela, knowing his past from her friendship with Annie, doesn’t buy into Dax’s interest. So the journey concerns Dax convincing both himself and Angela that his is a real and lasting love.

What helped in this story was that Dax and Angela were well integrated into Dax’s family, and they played a strong role both in reaction to Dax’s actions and as counsel to Angela. I loved Angela’s forthrightness and Dax’s growing maturity, and how for them domestic discipline was an element to their relationship, not the entirety of it.

So The Daring Doms is a mixed bag. Unfortunately, as the one part I liked less came first, I hope readers who enjoy exploring the domestic discipline subgenre in romance will persevere through to the second.

Sweet Doms and their relationships

The Daring Doms is actually a book about the Daring brothers, Dane and Dax, who are both Doms. Dane is married to Annie but are having more than little issues with the marriage. They need to communicate with each other in order to save things. Dax is Dane's younger brother and he asks Angela out. Angela is the best friend of Annie. Each brother is "hiding" his true self from the woman in his life.
The stories are There is not much BDSM happening in these stories which to me was disappointing as I definitely expected more, especially with the word Dom in the title. It was also annoying that both Dane and Dax are Doms and live the "lifestyle" but neither wants to tell the woman in their life that they are. It did not make sense to me at all with that regard. The book is more sweet and nice as opposed to having some down and dirty to it. Overall I think I am not the best target audience for this but others will most likely really like it.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own so agree with them or not as everyone's tastes are different.

While I’ve really enjoyed Isabella Kole’s other books, I found this one didn’t engage me. The stories follow the Darings, Dane and Dax, with Dane’s wife Annie and their marital issues, as well as Annie’s Angela and how her relationship with Dax starts. The book is a bit like one of those pastries you bite into and meet mostly air; the first story particularly (Dane and Annie) leaves a slightly sour taste in the mouth because Dane’s behaviour is really unacceptable. That said, the stories are a quick, fairly light read that are good for a just-before-bed relax.

Dane and Dax are brother and both are Doms as well. Dane falls for Annie and quickly marries her without telling her who he really is. Will they find the love they had when they first met or will secrets and communication be there downfall? Dax thought he wanted a woman just like his sister-in-law but Annie’s best-friend is her total opposite and sparks are flying between Dax and Angela. Are they destined to be together? Sweet and steamy. An enjoyable read.

SURRENDERED TO HIM COMPLETELY—MIND, BODY, HEART, AND SOUL

Ms.Isabella Kole has done it again, but this time, it is a stand-alone book that had two stories, interconnected, with two brothers and two best girlfriends. The story encompasses issues that each couple face, especially when things are kept in secret—another strong example of ‘honesty is the best policy.’ The story is not overly explicit in intimacy, but more on emotions. While there are a few discipline and sex scenes, it is more the importance of open dialogue. Note, this is NOT a BDSM story---it is two couples entering into a D/s relationship.

The first couple, Dane and Annie Daring, are a married couple who after two years, are having some issues, and rather than having the open line of communication, there is assumptions and hard feelings. Dane has kept secrets from Annie about his lifestyle preferences for a D/s marriage and has issues with her former boyfriend, Russ. Rather than talking, he makes accusations and then walks out—but even seeing something isn’t always black and white. Will these two find their way, or is divorce the answer? Can having a D/s marriage be the key to success?

“Our second chance to get it right.”

The second couple is both single, have known each other for at least three years, secretly have feelings for each other—but their personal levels of commitment and what they want for the future is their stalemate. Dax Daring believed that Dane and Annie married too quickly and thinks his brother made a mistake not telling Annie he was a Dom—but overall, they’ve had a good marriage until recently—and he will encourage Dane to take control. Dax has avoided a committed relationship—but Angela has him rethinking his plans.

“The problem is he wants a relationship with no strings yet, and I want promises of forever first.”

When Angela and Dax team up to help bring Annie and Dane back together, it opens a door for them to become better acquainted—but what happens when Angela wants something more permanent with her life? Will he realize that he does too—if it means being with her?

“Angela, what are you doing to me? What kind of spell are you casting on me? You’re under my skin. You’re in my heart, in my mind, and I can’t get you out.”

“I’ve pretty much admitted to her how I feel. I guess it’s up to her now. We can deal with all the rest later. I’ve been waiting for a woman like you, not a woman like her (Annie) You will be my lover, my submissive, and, maybe someday, my wife; count on it.”

While these two couples and stories interconnect, they also are two separate tales and relationships. It is a great example that no two couples are alike, whether it is a vanilla or a D/s relationship—there is ‘no size fits all’ situations. Each couple must be open and honest in their communications and commitments to find the perfect fit.

“I’ve come around to your way of thinking.”

This is the story of two brothers that are Doms. Dane the oldest is married to Annette and they are having problems in their marriage. When it opens up Annette is fussing about their not being in spark in their marriage. She wanted to have a discussion about what is going on and why they have not had children. Dane was feeling pressure from work but he felt like she was telling him she didn't want him anymore. He felt like she wanted her old boyfriend Russ and that he might have rushed into this marriage like his brother had told him and that he was her rebound guy. So after the fight and both of them saying stuff that neither one wanted to take back at the moment they ended up separating that night. He went to stay with his brother Dax. But after a restless sleep about her ex boyfriend and how it might have happened with them she realized that who she wanted was her husband. A guy that was dependable and loved and adored her. She had made a mistake. She called her best friend Angela who had moved to Jacksonville/St. Augustine area with her to be with guy named Russ. Annette and Angela were from the Midwest. Suffice it to say Annette and her husband get back together after a short time apart and her ex boyfriend just happening to be in town during this time did not help but it did help her to see that she was glad she had not given her ex boyfriend a chance. You know that saying you don't know what you got tell its gone, the best thing to happen to them two was the short separation. Dane did not let Annette know about his lifestyle as a Dom so it was as if they were starting all over again dating and getting to know one another. Dax and Angela helped to get them back together. Annette never wanted to separate so Angela went to talk to Dax to get his help, if possible to get those two back together. As they were trying to help brother and best friend to see how much they loved one another, they realized or rather Dax realized that he was attracted to Angela and had suppressed his feelings. So the second half of the story is devoted to the story of Dax and Angela and how they realized that they wanted to be in a relationship and see where it led them. I can't tell you anymore because I would be giving away what happened with the brothers and their ladies. Dane Daring and Annette Daring and Dax Daring and Angela Vaccaro. Read this story. It is nice reading and it will warm your heart. It did mine.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of the Daring brother. This book is set in two parts, the first Dane and Annie's story and the second Dax and Angela's story. Dane and Dax are brothers and are both Doms. When Dane met Annie, she had just broken up with her long time boyfriend Russ and he left town. Annie and Dane moved fast and were engaged within months and then married. Now two years later, they have been fighting a lot lately and both are feeling stressed. During their latest fight, Dane accused Annie of still having feelings for Russ, even though she doesn't. It was a bad fight were Dane told Annie to leave and find Russ. Annie wanted to be with Dane and in the morning when she went ot tell him, she found a note telling her he was going to Dax's house and they needed space. Annie was heartbroken and wanted Dane to come home, but he thought she didn't want to be with him. To make matters worse, Russ returned to town wanting Annie back. Angela and Dax decided to help the couple get back together. IN Dax's story, he always said he would never get married and wanted to play the field forever. Angela had feelings for Dax fo rthe last three years, but she refused to be w fling, she wanted a commitment. When Dax called Angela and asked her out to dinner, she refused because she knew he would never settle down, but Dax asked for a chance. Dax had feelings for Angela, he just was trying to deny them. Dax knew if he fell for a woman it was going to be fast and forever, but he still tried to deny his feelings, until he realized Angela was the one for him. Angela really liked Dax and wanted to be with him, but she also wouldn't sleep with him unless he could commit to her. Dax agreed to take things slow so he could prove he wanted to be with her. I really enjoyed both stories in this book. I liked the brothers and thought they were both good men who had a dominate side. I think the brothers had a great relationship with each other as well as their women. Good story.

Annie and Dane was having problems with their marriage always snipping each other. Yes it was a whirlwind romance they had gotten married after being together 3 months. Dane was convinced that she was still in love with her ex boyfriend Russ. Dane left leaving note tell her that they needed a break he was going to his brother’s house. Annie was devastated and to make matters worse her best friend Angela tells her Russ was back in town. Angela and Annie go out to have girl time and they run into Russ. Dax and Dane just so happen to go to the club and Dane sees her dancing with Russ who was trying to kiss her. Dane left so he wouldn’t have to see what was happening. Dane really loved Annie but he was not going through any more hurt. Annie explained to Dane that she was not interested in Russ. Dane decided to take Dax’s advice to let her know he was a Dom . Annie was more in love with Dane than ever. He suggested that they try out the lifestyle which he had given up when he first met Annie.

Angela and Dax

Dax finally asked Angela out while out she made it clear that she was not going to be one and done. No friends with Dax she knows he made it clear that he doesn’t want a relationship. Dax likes hanging out with Angela even though she is still has the feeling he is nothing more than a playboy. Dax wants her to see more and that he could be trusted. Dax takes her to his parents house along with Annie and Dane. Dax and Angela are still trying to figure their relationship. Dax had to go to one of the job site to fix some problems and there was an accident. Angela was so worried that Dax might be dead and she never told him how she felt

This book was different that the other Dom stories in where it focuses on a married couple and new couple that get together but are familiar with the married couple. The married couple is Dane and Annie while the new couple is Dax, Dane’s brother, and Angela, Annie’s BFF. The first section of the book is about Annie and Dane and the issues they have as a married couple. Dane feels as though Annie might still have feelings for her ex and now that he is back in town, he decides to take a break giving her the opportunity to figure out what she wants, even though he hasn’t been very truthful to her. His brother finally tells him that he needs to tell Annie about his DOM life and it may help the marriage out, in which of course it does, and it gives them back what they knew was always there along with a little something. The second part of the book is about Angela and Dax. He is not a one-woman man but will attempt to do so for Angela. Their story is loving as well but what is most important is that the couples are closer because of what they went through to get to where they are at. This book is about a married couple – Annie and Dane, and his brother, Dax, who falls in love with Annie’s best friend, Angela. The first half is about Annie and Dane, while the second half is the story of Angela and Dax. In the first half, Annie and Dane have a lot of problems in their marriage which leads to breaking up; later, they put things together but only after a lot of emotional episodes from both of them. Mild BDSM assists in the repair of the relationship, as Dane is a Dom who had been hiding it. In the second half, Dax had sworn off relationships but fell in love with Angela and had a hard time persuading her that his interest in her was serious. Dax is also a Dom, and that assisted in cementing his relationship with Angela. The story was ok – I thought there was a little too much talking about the mental pain the relationships were causing – and the four lead characters were a bit wishy-washy for my taste. The Daring Doms is two novellas put together into one well written book. The story is easy and fun to read. These couples are each facing their own challenges but use domestic discipline to achieve their goals. Dane and Annie are trying to save their marriage but learn that complete honesty about themselves and their past is the only way to make that happen. While this couple have already made their commitment, Dax and Angela are trying to decide if commitment is what they both want. Each of the men are doms but each has their own style as well. The author addresses real problems that people face in relationships but in an entertaining way. There are some sex scenes and spankings but neither are overdone in the story. Overall I enjoyed the story and recommend this book for those that are looking for an easy read to enjoy. I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book.

Two good interconnected romances with spice. 💞💓💞

This spicy romance is about two brothers and the women they are in love with. 🥰

Annie and Dane are married but have hit a brick wall with each other. Dane is keeping a secret about himself and Annie needs more from him but she just doesn't know how to tell him or what she needs.

Dex is Dane's younger brother and Angela is Annie's best friend but they are more than that. The problem is that Dex has told Angela once too often that he's not looking for a relationship and if he was, it would be with someone like Annie. And Angela maybe her best friend, but they are two different women who want different things from life.

However, both Dane and Dex are keeping the same secret about themselves and fighting how they can save their relationships by bringing in the fact that they are Doms. 💗🔥💕

This is a combination of two novellas more than one book. The first story is about Dane Daring and his wife Annie. They had been fighting more and then Dane falls off the deep end and decides that Annie still wants her old boyfriend and moves out. They have to talk to find middle ground. I will admit I was annoyed by the attitude in the beginning of it being all Annie's fault. But, once they sat down and discussed, things were more even.

The second story is about Dax Daring, Dane's little brother, and Angela Vaccaro, Annie's best friend. Dax finally admits that he feels something for Angela and asks her out on a date. Things progress pretty quickly after that.

There is a HEA for both couples. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Misunderstanding each others wants and desires!
by sewsummore

This book tells the story of two brothers and the women they loved, the frustrations and problems that they face in catching and keeping their lady loves. Even the happiest of marriages can face problems in learning to live together, while the one man who is happy, single and fancy free yearns for the woman he can only have if he surrenders his freedom. The characters in this story suffered from not having been honest with their partners or not with themselves, refusing to accept what their heart was telling them. When misunderstanding each others wants and desires can lead to heartbreak being honest can lead the greater understanding and happiness for them all.

Dane and Annie married after three months of knowing each. Everyone said that Dane was Annie's rebound guy. They are having problems in their marriage and Dane has decided that he is going to fight for their love but he is going to bring the D/s lifestyle into their life. They are starting out slow again and it's working. Dax on the other hand is in love with Annie's best friend Angela. He doesn't know that Angela love him also. These stories are what happens to couples when they don't have an open line of communication, assume things that are not really spoken and basically not being open with each other. Each book is unique in the way they get their ladies to love them and spend their life with them. Very good story that will bring that special glow to your heart. I actually liked this book. It’s light and fluffy, and in several cases, not especially realistic, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The thing that drove me the most nuts, particularly about Dane and Annie’s story, is that they never had a rational discussion about what was going on until after everything was sorted out. I stand by my personal belief that if, as people, we would just talk to each other, we could solve a lot of the world’s ills. Even Dax and Angela fall into this a little, though not to the same extent. I think their story was more about squandering opportunities than the communication issues noted above. I had fun reading this and I’m curious to read more from the author.

Unlike the other 'Dom' books by this author, this seems to be a completely standalone duet in the one book.  The first half is focused on Dane and Annie as they try and sort out their failing marriage, while the second half is about Dax and Angela.  Each can be read individually and are fairly self-contained, making the book more like 2 short stories published together.  Each read provides an easily read story that's very light on anything spanking/DD.  I've quite enjoyed other books by this author but I found this book just didn't engage me like the others did.  Maybe each story needed that bit of extra depth that would have come from being a longer, standalone read.

Two brothers and two best friends. One brother immediately knows Annie is the one for him. The other brother, Dax, is hot for her friend Angela but he knows he is not a marrying man. He only wants to play. Problem is, Angela only wants to be committed. These two brothers are Doms, but neither of them tell the women they are involved with. Neither Annie nor Angela have tried BDSM before, so that is a risk for both men. Will it be worth it? Could Angela ever trust Dax to only want her? A good read. Spanking romance. Hand, belt, paddle.

2 for 1 package with brothers finding love - very sweet

A little slow starting but then it became a very enjoyable read with humour and spice. In denying his dominant side, Dane allows himself to become someone his brother does not recognize. As it turns out, a dominant man is exactly what Dane needs to be to relate to Annie and save their marriage.

The second story entwining adds a nice dimension to the book with Dax and Angela falling fast and hard for one another. This is a cute and engaging relationship with a bit of angst and danger thrown in.

I enjoyed reading this book. It is about two brothers, Dax and Dane Daring, where one believes he has found his HEA and marries and the other just avoids anything to do with commitment. But HEA doesn't always work out, especially when you bury pieces of yourself instead of sharing them. Can Dane and Annie learn to communicate honestly with each other? Will it save their marriage? For Dax and Angela, will Dax approach her about a relationship or just admire her from the side?

Two dominant brothers and two best friens.
Dane married Annie only three months after knowing her and Dax just thinks that the marriage is a big mistake from is brother, specially because Dane was not sincere to Anne about himself and hos desires.
Both stories are well built, develloped and the characters are very sweet.
Loved it.

Sweet and sexy

These two stories about brothers. The elder is mid-marriage and having troubles. The younger brother is finding love after swearing never to settle down with one woman. Each story is sweet in the way the men are noble and sacrificing for their woman. The women are each a little bit neurotic but quirky and fun. I recommend this light read for a break from our everyday troubles. Light on BDSM/lifestyle.

A really nice plot, that sees two brothers meeting and claiming their ladies. There are some twists and turns to the story especially as one of the brothers Dane isn’t completely upfront with his new wife about his likes and dislikes. It’s a really interesting story that has a nice steady pace and likable characters.

I really enjoyed the reading this. The reason I gave it 4 stars was because he wasn'tt much if a Dom. They sucked as a married couple supposed to be in love. BUT the word building, storyline and characters are well written. The author done a n awesome job grabbing my attention. It just wasn't my type of BDsm lol no pus Doms lol

Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters were interesting. Dane and Dax brothers and Dom. Annie and Angela are best friends. Dane is married to Annie and now their marriage looks like it is falling apart. Where Dax is so fixated on Angela. Hot and hotter.
