Writing is my bliss and I try to write every day. I started with two publishers who I learned a lot from. Now I self publish. I like the control it gives me over release dates and book covers.
I so enjoyed reading this book. It had a great storyline and was well written. The characters were so well described that you could just picture them. Much of the story was of Anora being brutalized by her first husband and wondering if she could ever be more than a wife in name only. We are left to assume so, but the book ended with her wedding reception. It would have been nice if the author has truly finished the book and let us know how they did on their wedding night. This was a crucial part of the story and I’m not asking for specific graphic descriptions, just to know what Anora’s feelings were and if she felt any PTSD from her past experiences or if she was able to let them go and enjoy her wedding night. We are left to guess she did, but as I said earlier, this was an important turning point in her life and in her relationship with her new husband. Beyond that it was a touching a d moving story. It was worth reading and I can recommend this book without any reservations. It was also a clean story, but there were a few bad words in it.
This was a story about a young girl who was kidnapped and abused for 5 years. Her "husband" had beat her so often that you wouldn't look any one in the eye. One night he decided to throw her out of the house and then her life is changed. A coffee shop owner takes her to a friend that takes her in and helps her. Life is still very hard but with people looking out for her whole world is better. Loved this sweet story.
Monsters come in all sizes. A page turning snow storm read with Anora and Maverick. Part mystery and part romance. Some unexpected twists and turns, as Anora comes to grips with being a missing person and Maverick realizes she in not a horse thief. Being afraid all the time leaves little time for other emotions. A new author for this avid reader.
When I started this book, I had no idea where it was going. It was full of surprises. I loved it. It made sense, and I thought it was well paced and realistic in its timing of events. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that there was the odd grammatical error, and the formatting was weird in places.
Slow read for me, but a believing story. Kidnapping happens and u fortunately for Anora who wax a freshman in school was by someone she knew who worked for her father. Maverick owns a ranch and her kidnapper tried to steal his horse. That's how they met. HEA.
Many things happen to this poor innocent girl and she has to learn a whole new way of life. She does meet many people both good and bad but she carries on.
Love Before Midnight was another spectacular read that'll engross you from start to finish. I loved Maverick. I had the entire book read in 8 hrs. #Unputdownable
If I h a d to say anything less than flattering about this novel, it'd be that the use of 'Darn' distracted me when it was clear Maverick was not shy about cursing. I would have liked a little more detail about Andy's death.
Other than that, excellent novel and a great Thanksgiving read. =)
Love Before Midnight A Sweet Contemporary Western Romance.
Enjoyed this sweet story of two hurting souls, by Kathleen Ball. I always enjoy curling up and snuggling in with her books and this one kept me busy reading. So happy with the way the book ended after all the twists and turns, our hero and heroine went through. A stand alone. JudyE
If you enjoy a bit of mystery; expect to love the characters; and, want clean romance, this is the book for you. The subject of abuse is well written and I loved the HEA.
